What do you
think about social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)? Does it sometimes
infringe on our privacy without our knowledge? How does social media benefit
us? Has social media changed the way we
communicate? If yes, is it for the better or worse?
social media is a invade of privacy but people dont't realize this.wheather they know it or not its a big deal.big brother is always watching if you believe in that just sayin.there is no more privacy on the web that is a big misunderstanding.but this is just the tip of the ice berg only baby stuff.peace
ReplyDeleteWhat I think about social media is that it can be and addiction to a lot of people and people forget how to be social and they forget all about the real world. Their spelling starts being incorrect and so is their grammar. I personally like social media. But it has never changed my grammar or how I’ve spelled. Yes it does sometimes infringe on our privacy without our knowledge. We can post something and not realize that it’s our own business and that nobody else needs to know. But nobody realizes it. Social media benefits us by talking to our friends. Yes I think social media has changed the way that we communicate. I think its both personally. We aren't shy when we talk over the internet or social media so that's good. What's bad is that we loose our social skills in person because we are so used to texting our friends instead of talking face to face. This makes us not want to talk to each other in person. it becomes a habit to text. That's never good. It also became a good thing because we communicate with more people that we never used too and we get more friends.
ReplyDeleteI think that social middle sometimes infringe on our privacy without our knowledge knowing for many reasons. One reason is that some people may post their phone number on social media and than some other person that you don't know could get your phone number and try to access your information. Another way is that you could tell someone something over social media that you don't want anyone else knowing but then that person could tell another and it could go around. My last reason is that if you send someone a picture that you don't want going around every social media that person could send it and invade in your privacy. Social media has negative and positive outcomes. Social media can benefit us by helping us keep in touch with either family members or friends that may have moved far away, then you could keep in touch with them and see what's going on.
ReplyDeleteSocial media has changed the way we communicate because people used to communicate by phone calls or letters but now people communicate by either email, texting or Facebook messaging. I think that this social media way is much better because its much faster and easier!
I feel that social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are very useful but also very dangerous and risky for certain people to use. Some people like to vent their opinions and life events through these sites, often not realizing that they are opening their personal information up to complete strangers if not a private account. Although im aware that many people are irrisponsible, i also know that a few people can actually be responsible with social networks, and prevent possible bad events and have their account locked to the people they don't know. I don't feel the sites invade our privacy, although if your account isn't private, your information would of course be shown to people you wouldn't know. I do believ its changed the way we communitcate making it so people without cellphones or expensive devices can simply find an old computer, and text away...
ReplyDeleteWhat i think about social media for example Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. What i think about instagram is that i like because its a cool way to see pictures that people what other people to see. For example car companies post pictures of cars, and they have other accounts saying which cars are better. Sometimes friends post pictures so other friends could see it. I really don't like facebook in general because i don't see the point of it.
ReplyDeleteIn a way i think these social medias infringe on our privacy because we might not notice it happens but it probably does. It change the way we communicate because people around the world talks through twitter facebook and instagram. In way this is, in my opinion, better then worse.
I believe that social media is a good thing and a bad thing . I think this because with social media you get a chance to talk with your friends on instagram,twitter and other types of social media. You can get to see what your friends post and what they say. Instagram,twitter and other social media make a lot of money off of people signing up for their accounts.Sometimes people post some dirty stuff and get in a lot of trouble by their school and there parents.Social media can also be a bad thing because some of the kids post bad comments on other kids pictures.
ReplyDeleteI think that some social media websites may look into your privacy sometimes and might post things we don't want it to do. like share pictures with people you may or may not know. that's why I make sure if its appropriate. Like if you going on vacation and a burglar finds out he can rob you house when your gone. something's you want private or share with your friends can be looked up by strangers.
ReplyDeleteI always follow the rule, if my parents wouldn't like it I wont post it. I don't always go on social media but when I do I put the settings on friends only. And that's why I friends only people I know. And people I don't know if they send me a request I deny it. But I think that social media makes life easier so we don't have to call people to find information or drive.
I definitely agree with Kenny. He is right how social media looks into our privacy. Most of the social media now does. I also agree with him when he talks about how people you may not know look at your pictures and information you share on social media. Yes, things that you may think are private could be shared with strangers that you don't know. When Kenny talks about his parents rule he follows, he is 100 percent right. If your parents think something's inappropriate or something that shares to much information you should not post it anywhere. Its a great way to keep your personal life away from strangers. In conclusion, I defiantly agree with Kenny and what he thinks about social media.
DeleteWhat I think of the social media is that it is one of the best but worst thing that was ever made. Why it is good is because it is a easy way to catch up with old friends and to meet new people sometimes. But what i don't like about it is that it may sometimes it post personal info like phone numbers, address, and things in those sense. another thing is that social media changed the way we communicate. Before Facebook and twitter there was three ways to talk to each other. by mail, phone, or person to person. but now there are more ways to and it is making us more rely int on texting and messaging on Facebook and even on video game units. But i do need to say it is a lot easier to talk to each other. its because now it does not cost money to talk on the phone in different country because now you can hope on Facebook or Skype and talk to them for free. Now video game units are becoming not reign locked which means that people all the way cross the world can play and talk to you on line. So that what i think of our social media today and how it changed we talk to each other.

ReplyDeleteWhat I think about social media( i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram ) is that it's good and bad. I think it's good because you could go to this websites and talk to your friends from the past and the ones you don't see anymore. Also it's good because you can see what is happening to your favorite celeberity or a person you are inspired by. And I also think it's good because you can see events that are coming up, like the Soccer, Football and basketball events (etc.).Therefore I don't only thing social media is good, I also think it's bad. I think it's bad because everything bad you post online in the past can hurt you in the future. Also I think it's bad because of all the bad and rude comments people leave in someone pictures, videos or anything else and this can really hurt that person that post those things. Last I think it's bad because of the communication and the gramer now in days is horriable. Therefore this is way I think social media is good and bad. I think sometimes social media those infringe to our privacy without our knowledge because some people get into trouble or do something electrifying that the things that they did end up online without them knowing because other people post it or write about it. Therefore social media benefit us by the way we get information faster and also to communicate with friends and family from long distance places. Social media changed the way we communicate by us talking to people from long distances places and also it saves time and money too, because some don't have time to visit there friends or familys' and some don't have enough money. If yes , it is better and worse to have social media.

ReplyDeleteSocial media does not effect me. I am not on any social media. If I was on social media I think it would be helpful and not helpful. I think it could be a good way to find people who like the same things you do. Also it could be helpful because you cant always have somebody to talk to. Social media can be a bad thing because if you friend sees a picture they could get mad or jealous that you didn't invite them to wherever you are.

I think that it does sometime infringe on our privacy because everything is being watched and it wants all your information. Social Media benefit us because it makes it easier to communicate and know what is going on with the world. Social media has taken a great toll on how we communicate because u can practically message anyone in the world. Social media is bad and good in many ways. It is good because you can stay in touch with other people and know what is going on. The bad part is drama, so much bad things can happen online from one little lie. The worst part about that is that it stays there forever unless that person gets rid of it. Me personal don't like social media because it just most of the time stresses me out and just causes problem. It also is a problem because you cant have a meaning full conversation with someone, I hate talking online because it takes the feeling out of everything and cant know the honest felling in it. This is what I think about social media.
ReplyDeleteI think social media is fun to play games on and watch funny videos and look at funny pics. It can sometimes infringe on peoples privacy. Social media is not very private. People can find out things that u don't want people to see or know about u. It benefits us

DeleteI think that Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is some times a waste of perfectly good time to go out, meet with friend rather than sitting inside and playing games. I am not saying that the social media is not that bad but it is not a great thing to be on it 24/7. For example I have a Facebook account but I am not on it 24/7 some time I look at what they post but I don't use a lot. The privacy of the social media is some what depriver of the user but it is based on your opinion of how much you want to show about yourself. It benefits us because it helps us keep in touch with the world.
ReplyDeleteii think that social media is a big impact on peoples life because the world revolves around technology. but yes it is a lack of privacy but thats a risk that people are willing to take. i also am willing to take that risk because i use social media just as much as other people do. social ,media beneifits us because we use it as communication and stuff you need to know

ReplyDeleteI think some social media websites are good to use while others become addicting. Some times you have people that would maybe stay on for a while and leave, while there are others that are checking every minute of the day. I'm personally the one who checks every minute. I think it could infringe on our privacy because if you post a photo of you and your friends, some people can look and see it. Also, my parents have constantly warned me about telling people when I go on vacation because someone could see a message that I'm leaving and try to rob my home. Social media benefits us because we have access to talking to our friends and maybe family members too. Social media websites are also making our communication different. Many of us have seen the "text talk" that people use like shorting words and misspelling them. When I talk like that I sometimes mess up my writings in class because I'm shorting the words like I would when I'm on a social media site. Also, since we are always messaging on social media websites, we have problems talking to people face to face. These are my opinions on why social media is both good and bad.
ReplyDeleteI agree. All the "text talk" is now taking over all of out learning that we were taught. Nobody knows how to correctly spell or use grammar. Nobody even knows how to talk face to face to anyone. It's all over social media
DeleteTechnology has grown a lot over the years. We now have social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook, and twitter. Any one that has one of these apps usually acts different than how they are in person. A lot of people hide behind they're screens because they feel more confident, so when it comes to talking in person they become shy and timid. Most people don't know how to interact with one another the way we used to. For example, you could be hanging out with your friend and all you do is text other people. Its taken over our minds more than we would like to think. If we aren't doing anything even for the slightest second we pull out our phones because its out of habit and we don't even realize it. Now I must admit that technology has many up sides like being able to contact someone that you know is across the country or even across the world. It helps keep in contact with people we haven't seen in a while. Our privacy though through all of this is violated. The government records all our phone calls, they take all the information we submit, and watch our every movement we do online.

ReplyDeleteAnother example is facebook you would not believe how much information you put on that website. Scientists have proven that the first thing most Americans do is check there phone witch is usually social media account . Social media has taken over so much of our lives . You don't know it but you know when you start playing a new game and it asks you do you want to sighn up with Facebook and you agree do you ever really read it ask you do you allow so and so game to post on your behalf and etc. . Many people act lot different on the Internet then they do in real life . Internet has corrupted our social skills that people would rather communicate there social media than face to face . To me social media has corrupted us so much i. believe it's Unfixable.
