* What make you an individual? What are things you like to do i.e. Sports, hobbies, crafts, volunteering, family time?
* Do you think it is important to be an individual? Why or why not? explain your answer using examples.
What makes me an individual are a variety of things. For example I'm in the ROTC, now i understand that the ROTC is all about teamwork and is a brother hood but it also makes me an individual and makes me unique from society. It makes me stand out as a proud cadet of the ROTC and gives me authority and teaches me lessons that people can't learn from anywhere and thats why ROTC makes me an individual. Also the people i associate with make me an individual also. They're the reason why I'm the person i am today and where all a bunch of weirdos and don't like to mimic the perfect figure that society wants us to be like and were all who want we want to be and thats what makes us all individuals because we all like the person we are and not what they want us to be. Also what i believe made a huge impact on my life was band. It has gotten me many of friends who shaped my personality today and also the band instructor has taught me many things in life that have helped me come to be who i am and made me unique as an individual and as someone special.
ReplyDeleteI believe it is important to be an individual. It makes you special from everyone else. Also its important to be an individual because society is a messed up thing. It brainwashes people to become barbie dolls and perfect people that have no flaws and that are above everyone. It tells people that if your different that your weird and don't belong. But even though all these things happen to individuals, i think its still important to be one because society is wrong and should be stopped by having more people taking risks and becoming who they want to be and become individuals and be who they want to be. Thats why i think being an individual is better.
I agree with you because if people want to be themselves then let them. The world was created for people that are individual. I also believe that society is a messed up thing and that it brainwashes people
DeleteI agree with your response. You being in ROTC does make you an individual. It is you making the option to be in something you want to do. That is a good example of what makes you an individual.
DeleteMany people have many different things they do to be individual. There are many things that make me an individual. One thing is that I surf. I first became to love the idea of surfing at a young age. Sadly because of a low budget we had to wait a long time. During the winter about two years ago I got a seven-foot long board for Christmas. The following summer I took the board out for a spin. I didn't actually ride a good wave that day, but with patience and hard work I got a lot better by the end of the summer. It makes me an individual because not many people have this interest. Surfing takes a lot of hard work. It's not like you can just jump on to the board and expect it to work. You have to be in shape. Not many people want to go through all the work for it.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is very important to be an individual. If people weren't individual then we would all be robots living a boring life sulking around everywhere. Life would be uncreative and repulsive. As individuals we have different ideas. Thats why today is how it is. There are extravagant ideas and silly ideas. But all ideas lead up to technology and inventions today. So I encourage every one to be individual. Besides who wants to be a person that is known as the person with no personality. I know I don't. One day I hope to be even more individual and different. Then one day I can use my Individuality to create a fabulous idea that might even change the world for the greater good. In conclusion people should always express themselves and be individual because it can go a very long way.

DeleteWhat makes me an individual? Well there are many things that make me an individual. For starters, I am a very independent person. I do almost everything on my own. I study on my own, I do my own homework, I make the right decisions on my own, and so on. That is what makes me an individual. I basically started being an individual ever since I was little. From when I became potty trained, to tying my shoes by myself, to riding my bike on my own. I like to do many things, but I mostly like to play video games when I have nothing else to do. I usually play video games when I finish homework, I play it on the weekend. I usually just play video games when I have free time. I also like to play football with my friends. I do not like to play school sports. I usually just play football for fun and try to win. That is what I like to do as a non competitive sport.
ReplyDeleteI think it is important to be an individual. It is important to make your own decisions. If you have someone bossing you around your whole life, you are not going to get anywhere. That is basically having a parakeet hanging over your shoulder telling you what to do and what not to do. You can make your own decisions. Do not be afraid to make the wrong choice. And if you do, everyone makes mistakes. That is why it is important to be an individual.
There are plenty of things that’s make me feel like an individual. These things are like sports, hobbies, and family time. I play a really demanding sport. That is ice hockey. I play travel ice hockey and school ice hockey. So that means that I have hockey practice 4 nights a week. This is a sport that takes a lot of time. The practices are 1 hour a night. Getting a ride there and back is another hour. So I have to dedicate a lot of time. Then when I have games it is another story. Some of my hockey games are 2 hours away. I have to be at the game an hour early too. So that is3 hours of family time before the game and 2 hours on the ride back. Plus, if we want to go to eat after, we then have MORE family time. I also like to ride my bike and hangout with my friends when I am available. When I hangout with my friends we like to do exciting stuff like ride places and go to eat. We always go to Quick Check or Wawa and sometimes the Fusion Buffet. I love to just chill out with friends and shoot hockey pucks on my net in the garage. Of course I have to do homework. That takes an hour or so away from my day. So I like to be an individual. I like doing my own things and being a leader not a follower.

I completely agree with your response. Being an individual does make you who you are. So you should express you individuality in many different ways.

DeleteMany people have many different things they do to be individual. There are many things that make me an individual. For instance, I play football and enjoy spending time with my family. I play two postions for football. On offense I play fullback and for defense I play middle linebacker. I started playing football when I was 11. Football is fun even if it gets tough at times. Football is the reason I have the friends I do now. Over the years I've gotten better at football and I'm happy about that. Spending time with my family is one of my favorite things to do. We eat dinner and watch sports and other shows together. We are a very close family and share a lot of inside jokes. One memory I have is going on bike rides to get ice cream when we lived in Manchester.

It is important to be yourself so you feel good about yourself. People should be able to express themselves however they want; through clothing, hair styles, music and such. If we couldn't be individuals the world would be a boring place!
I totally agree with you. Especially about the style part. I feel that is a very good point cause if we all looked and thought the same it would like looking in a mirror where ever you went. And that is really boring. I also liked how you said after you joined a sport you mad a lot of new friends cause that's how I felt after joining field hockey.
DeleteThe thing that makes me an individual is I kind of just like to do my own thing. Like my neighbor actually told me the other day that when I was little I always was the girl who liked to do her own thing. If I didn't wanna do something everyone else was doing I would just go and do want I wanted. For me I just always thought if I didn't wanna do something I shouldn't cause I never wanted to be part of the crowd I just wanted to be me. Also I play field hockey. I think that it's so fun and even though I only tried it cause my cousin asked me to do it with her I'm so happy I did cause I honestly love it. Like I'm always trying to improve myself with it. I'll go home and start working on stuck skills and driving the ball.
ReplyDeleteFor me I feel like being an individual is very important because if all of us were the same no one would ever excel at things and go coward with ideas. If we all thought the same and we all were equal then no one would try and invent new things. A lot of times we come up with great things trying to be the best we can be or when we are in a healthy competition. But if we all thought and felt the same this wouldn't happen. I feel like following the crowd is the easier thing to do cause everyone wants to be liked and excepted but I don't know about anyone else but I like to be challenge and take the more difficult way. So in conclusion I feel that we should just be our selfs and not just be want everyone else is.

I like how I am a surfer cause not many people do it especially in new jersey. going surfer when it is bellow freezing is different then what most people do for fun. what also me an individual is most people want to be rich and famous. I just want to be happy in life and keep my best friends and family close to me. what also makes me an individual is a lot of people want to be popular in school and I personal don't care if I am or not. being popular does not make you cool or a better person its just a title. a lot of teenagers nowadays try to solve there problems with drinking and partying but I just like to surf if I ever have a problem in life. its a time where nothing else matters and just having a good time. what also makes me an individual is the music I listen too. I love old metal and punk. nowadays people like hip hop, rap and pop. I listen to songs that came out before I was even born and kids in my generation complain how a song is too old when it came out like a month ago. I like being an individual because I like how I am different. no one was put on this earth to be like other people. I like doing my own thing and not following what other people do.
