Respect is extremely important. Respect makes the world go round. You respect me I respect you. It's important because if you respect them some one then there is a good chance they will totally respect you back. So if you are in a sticky situation then maybe theres a chance that the person that respects you will have your back. And they know you would too. Respect is trusting someone and having them trust you too. You trust them to back you up and they trust you to back them up. Respect is shown when you trust some one with your expensive phone and know they will be careful not to break it. Another example is if someone were to trust you with their house to take care of while you were on vacation. They could water your plants, feed your pets, get your mail or what ever you need they would be there. I for one do respect people. I respect people because I know they will also respect me and I would like people to respect me.
ReplyDeleteMy feelings toward respecting others is that its a good thing. You should respect peoples privacy, peoples needs, and peoples family and friends. Then they should respectfully do the same. I think respect needs to be earned. This is because if you try to respect some one and they treat you like garbage you shouldn't give them respect them ever again. Unless of corse they change their ways. So in conclusion respect is very important and should probably be used more often.
I agree that respect is important. But I don't believe respect has anything to do with trust. I feel that its just the nice thing to do because I could respect someone I don't like but that doesn't mean I'm going to trust them to do something for me or tell them my secrets. Like you wouldn't trust someone you just meet cause you don't know them but you could respect them.
DeleteYes, respect is important. Respect is doing what is asked of you, listening to others, and not being rude. Respect can be shown by following the rules and being polite. Everyone deserves respect, even if they don't give respect in return. You should recept those who respect you. Not everyone is going to respect you, but until they give you a good reason you should continue to respect them. Adults, people of authority and the elderly deserve respect no matter what.
ReplyDeleteI think you should respect everyone. Respect is given, but some people can lose my respect. If you respect me, I'll respect you. I try to respect everyone but someone people lose the respect when they disrespect me. The way I look at it, respect is needs to be earned back if it is lost.
I agree one hundred percent. I couldn't have descriped respect any better. The examples you gave were spot on and really explained the topic. I also like your opinion on having to earn respect and how it can be lost.
DeleteDo i think respect is important? Yes i do. It symbolizes trust between people if you respect one another because you give them a certain amount of trust and you depend on them and if they make you satisfied and don't stab you in the back then you should give them respect as a friend. Or as if someone is really good at a sport for example and that maybe you don't like them as a person but you respect them as a teammate and have to work with them through respect despite your hate. Respect is important because of examples just like that one, even if you don't tolerate someone, you should still have respect because maybe you might have to work with them on something and would have to give them a certain amount of respect as your partner to get through the task your trying to get through as a team.
ReplyDeleteMy feelings toward respect to others is understandable. For example, i am a platoon leader now for bravo company with a person that i do not like very much and will not reveal his identity for purposes, But now since i got promoted he did too and now we have to work together as a team. I do not like him very much because of our past experiences but now i have learned to respect him because from what it looks like, I'm going to have to work with him all four years of high school and i can't do anything about it. So i have to respect him for the good of the program. That is just a little glimse of my feelings towards respect.
I agree with your response 100%. Respect is all about trust. You can't just go and back-stab them. I also agree where you used respect for a sport. Teammates are a good example of respect. If you don't like them, you still need to respect them.
DeleteYes I do think respect is important because I feel every should have it for each other. To me respect is kind of something you earn. It like you respect me and I'll respect you, but if you don't respect me I won't put the effort into respecting you. I feel you show respect by for example when a teacher or peer is talking you listen and contribute to the conversation instead of rolling your eyes, talking to someone else, or something like that. In my view I think you should respect people cause it's the right thing to do. It's a nice thing to do. Also if I don't respect someone they would respect me. I know I won't like it if while I was talking to other people that they wouldn't pay attention or want to so I feel I should respect others so I get respect back.
ReplyDeleteMy feelings towards respect is very strong cause I think it's very important. Respect is earn but can also easily be taken away. For example just one disrespectful thing can wreck how that person sees you. And it's not always one time but it is a lot easier to lose respect then gain it. But respect is a lot more than just listening to one another, there is also privacy. Like it's not very respectful if you are also in people's personal things. There our boundaries I do feel people should follow. Also it's respectful when you say things. Like when you aren't talking to your friends and you are talking to a parent or someone older you need to chose better words then stuff like yo or cursing at them.
I agree with what you are saying. Respect has a major role in life. With respect will come good jobs. I like how you said everyone should have respect about each other. But today we live in a sad world and half of the world does not show respect as much as the other half. i also believe that 1 disrespectful thing could wreck how a person sees you.

DeleteIn my opinion it is important to respect everyone. Respect is the overall opinion toward someone and the way you treat them. Its important to have respect for other people and yourself.When you have respect for someone ,you listen to them while they are talking , like a teacher , and you have a mutual feeling towards them. Respect can be shown to someone by understanding that persons actions and treat them fairly like how you would want to be treated. For everyone you meet respect should already be a given to anyone it shouldn't have to be earned. I respect people based off who they are if there good or bad and if you don't know that about someone you should show respect to them and treat them fairly regardless. Having a title in life like being , a teacher, a chef , or some kind of authority judges the amount of respect given to you. Obviously if someone is a criminal the normal person wouldn't admire that person and show any respect towards that person , but if it a veteran than most people would show respect to that individual. The "criminal" could've been a good person and has made mistakes to give him that title , the veteran could've been a bad person and had done bad things but having the title of being a veteran gains you respect

The definition of respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is the way you look at people and the way you treat them. Key word there is the word, treat. Respect is earned not given. By this I mean that you have to have a couple of steps leading up to respect. When you get to the top that is when respect is earned. I personally have to know you and how you treat people. If you are nice and treat people like you wanted to be treated and they treat you the same then yes respect earned. An example of this is when you are talking to a person. You look at them in the eyes and have clear answers like yes or no, not yeah or naw. You want to make them feel like you respect them. Then they will respect you.
ReplyDeleteMy feelings toward respect are very strong. This is because I think this is a really important factor in life. Without respect you will not think of people as nice or mean. There is a fine line between having respect for people and not having respect for them. Like if you are walking in the hallway and you knock the books out of there hands and keep walking you are not showing respect. But if you see that in the hallway and you help the kid pick up the books then that is showing respect. They will then respect you in return. So basically be nice and always being there for someone is showing respect.
Is respect important? In my opinion it is important to respect someone. I think it is important to treat everyone fairly. To act the way you would act to yourself. What I think respect is is treating someone correctly. To treat someone the way you would treat yourself. That is my definition of respect. Respect is shown by the way you act to someone. When you don’t do something that you are assigned to by your teacher, that is a sign of lacking respect. To gain that respect, you must do what they expect you to do, and that is doing that assignment. That is what the teacher expects you to do. If you don’t, they think you are disrespectful. In my view, I respect people that respect me back. I will respect someone if they respect me. If someone walked up to me and called me a “loser,” then I would lose all respect for them. If someone walked up to me and said that I looked nice today or had some nice shoes, I would thank them and politely compliment them back because I respect them. That’s how I grade people on respect.
ReplyDeleteI respect people that respect me. I treat people that treat me that same way. If someone put up their hand for a high five, I would respectfully put up mine and high five them if they respect me. If they pull some slick move like fix their hair or something, then I would not respect them. Honestly, I believe respect has to be earned. If you are the nicest person on the planet or the meanest, you still have to earn respect. You have to do the things that make you respectful and have people like you and treat you nicely.
I totally agree with your statement. Treat someone the way that you want to be treated. Respect is what keeps us together as a whole. Without respect the whole world would be a mess. You wanna treat someone the way that you want to be treated.
Deleteyes I do think respect is important. it is important to treat someone the way you want to be treated. without respect for people you will not go far in life. no one wants to be around or have a friend that doesn't have respect for others. if you don't respect people they will not respect you back. if you don't like someone it does not mean you shouldn't respect them. you don't know what someone might be through. if you disrespect someone you should not be surprised if they treat you the same way. respect is also earned and not giving too. if you give people attitudes and disrespect them they shouldn't treat you with respect. if you don't respect teacher it could effect how you do in school. same with the real world, if you don't respect your boss or co-workers don't expect to keep that job or get a raise. if someone doesn't show you respect try giving them respect first and see if there attitude changes. you will never make it far in life if you always have a bad attitude towards others. if you give respect towards teachers they may be more willing to help you. same goes with pretty much all authorities. if you respect your parents they could more willing to bring you places or give you money for something that you have been wanting. having no respect for others will change the way people act towards you. even for people that I don't really like I still give them respect cause I would like it in return. I try to make sure I have respect for all people so they give me respect in return.

Respect is mutually understanding and accepting other peoples wishes and there actions. Respect Is also not being rude to other people and putting your differences to the side. Respect is shown in many ways. Respect can be shown physically by holding a door open or helping someone who can’t carry something. Another way to show respect in a physical way is to show up to someone's funeral. You don't do it because you want to you do it out of respect towards the deceased and the family. But there are other ways in showing respect. Other ways like knowing someone’s having a bad day and doing something nice for them. Or knowing not to do something, like if you see someone doing something gross out of respect you don’t tell other people. Like In my view I respect people. I do this because if you don't respect others no one is going to respect you. Respect is a two way street. This means that it takes more then one person to show respect. It has to be mutual in how much respect is given.

I believe everyone deserves respect. This is because everyone deserves to be appreciated and respected! How would you feel if someone wasn't respectful towards you, you wouldn't like it. But I do believe you also have to give them something to respect. You cant be a bad person and expect others to admire it. This is what respect really means to me.
Yes, I do think respect is important.I think it is because if you show others respect, then they will respect you back. ReplyDeleteI respect people because I don't judge people. I am not one of those people who have no respect to other people based on their sexuality or choices. As long as people aren't showing disrespect, then I wont disrespect them. Respect is feeling of deep admiration for someone by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I like when people give me respect because it shows me how nice they are and that they admire my abilities and what I do. I am glad that there are a lot of people in this world that show respect.
Yes respect is important. If you show respect to others then they will treat you with respect back. Respect is what we live off of. Without it the world would be a big mess.Respect is what makes us whole in other words a person. Its not right to disrespect a person especially when it comes to emotions. In other words disrespecting someone is hurting their feelings like after do you really feel good about it your just ruining another persons emotions and change their outlook on you as a person.

I also think everyone deserves respect no matter how "big" or "small" you are. A persons a person no matter how small. I feel respecting others is a great thing everyone deserves respect and that is what i am sticking to.
