  1. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” - Maya Angelou. This quote is extremely inspirational to me. This quote to me means that if you don’t have to power in you to change something you can learn to accept it. Though I don’t think she means to give up on something so easily. I think she actually means that you should change your approach towards the issue. If your on the offensive then try being more subtle or if you’re being to subtle then you have to be more aggressive to get what you want sometimes. This quote has proven itself to be correct in my very own life. In my life this quote was applicable when I learned about how rude some people I know can really be. I soon found out friendship is not all it’s cracked up to be. I did both change my self and change the issue. I had to change myself to accept that not everyone that you think is nice is in fact very mean at times. I also had to change the way those people where acting so I started to talk to them about how annoyingly rude they where to other people. By doing this I changed what they did and how I reacted to it. I thus had proved that Maya Angelo’s quote was very well informing and that people should try and live by this quote. It can help in many different situations where there is a problem. Like if you don’t like the was someone or something is acting like I had not you have to follow this quote. By doing that you can easily change the problem to a solution. That’s how I honestly feel about this quote.

  2. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” - Maya Angelou
Maya Angelou once said “if you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude”. I think that this quote means like if you don’t like something you can change it yourself. You can also change the way you’re doing whatever you’re doing. If you can’t change it you can change your attitude towards it. Like for example say you’re required to go to the gym everyday and you don’t like going to the gym you can change your attitude towards the gym. It will make everything much easier and probably go faster. If you change your attitude it may also make you realize that you like doing what you’re changing because if you haven’t of changed your attitude towards it you would still dislike it and not want to do it.
I can relate to this because I had to clean my room so that I could go somewhere and I didn’t want to clean my room nor do I like cleaning my room. So I would go really slow and I wanted to do it fast but I just didn’t really feel like doing it but I really wanted to go somewhere so I changed the situation that I was in. I really wanted to go so I just put on music and got going. By the time that I could go because I had to go at a certain time I was finished. If you put your mind to it and if you change your situation that you didn’t like it will be much easier for you to do whatever you wanted to do. I think that changing the situation and changing your attitude is much easier then just being upset because you don’t want to do what you’re told to do.

    1. I agree with you Megan. If we keep our attitudes the same we wouldn't want to do anything because we wouldn't like it.

  3. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” - Maya Angelou. You should always change it to what you want. You should never leave something that you don’t. There are things in this world that you may like or not like. Some things in this world may not be able to change. You may have to deal with things that you dislike. Everything in this world will be made around you so you can like it. You should never get mad if you can’t change something. You should never ever change your attitude. Never change your self so you can like something. Don’t act like a different person. Don’t change for people. Never not be your self around people or when your doing things.Enjoy what you like. Don’t change many things so you can like something else. If your friend likes it a way and you like it a different way, say something. Don’t be shy and not say something. Stick uop for yourself don’t be afraid to not say something. Do things the way you want. Don’t do things that you may not like that other people want you to do. Always do what you want. You should always have friends that like things that you like as well.
I wanted to play a game on Xbox. My other friend want me to play a different game. He told me that my game wasn’t good and I should like his game. I told him that I don’t like that game and I am not going to change what I like to something that someone liked.

  4. "If you dont like something, change it. If you cant change it, change your attitude" by maya Angelou. What do i think that quote means to me? Well it could mean many different things to many people. It could be that not everyone can just up and change the way that they are. But by changing your attitude which is not like changing you whole entire way. This has happened to my uncle he wasnt one that liked to work or anything. But he had to change his attitude about work so he could have a family and live on his own. So instead of changing his whole life and the way he acted, he just changed his attitude on working. Yes i do think that what she is saying is what she means. That is because as i stated earlier it has to do with the not changing your whole attitude or life but just changing your attitude toward something. That is what i think that maya angelou means by her quote.

  5. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” - Maya Angelou. What I think this quote means is that if you don’t like doing something, you can change your attitude towards it. An example of what I mean is that if you don’t like to mow the lawn or rake the leaves when you need to do it, you will probably go really slow and mope around when you do it. If you change your attitude and try doing it without moping, you will get it done a lot quicker. Some examples on how this quote goes with my life is when I need to clean my room. I usually just sit there and don’t do it for a while because it’s boring. Now when I clean my room I put on one of my favorite songs because it makes time go faster for me and I actually get it done. Another example is with my parents. My parents don’t really enjoy going to their jobs but they can’t change them. They have learned to change their attitudes towards it so they get things done. If my parents just sat down and thought about how much they don’t like their jobs, it would go slow for them. When they stopped thinking about how much they dislike it and actually do it, it goes quicker for them. This is my opinion on the quote and this is what I think it means.

    1. I totally agree with you on what you think this quote means. I also can relate with you, with the examples you gave with how this quote relates to you. Anyway I also like the advice you gave as well. And this advice you gave could probably help me with my dislikings. Therefore I totally agree with your opinion to this quote and how you related it to your life.

  6. Maya Angelou once said "If you don't like something, change it. if you can't change it, change your attitude" What do I think this quote means to me? I think that this quote is very powerful. What i mean that it is powerful and makes you think, basically it is a deep quote. But what would you expect from someone as wise as Maya Angelou? Anyway i think that this quote means if you don't like something try to change it but if you can't you just have to learn to accept it, change your opinion on it or try seeing i from someone else's perspective. For example, I used to be fat and I didn't like that so I started going out running and started going to the gym and changed my diet. Within 2 months i lost all the weight. As you can see , you can change your weight but some things you can't change. One thing you can't change is someone else's athletic ability. For example , my friend Nyheem is better than me at basketball. I don't like it obviously so I continue to this day to train twice as hard to be better than him but it seems as if he's always one step, one level ahead of me. I changed my attitude towards him being better than me. What i mean is that I used to take it as a bad thing but now I take it as a challenge like a goal to get to. I have a goal to be better than him. Yes I do think what she is saying as as it seems. What she is saying is that you need to change your attitude towards things you can't change but change the things that you can. What she is saying is as it seems completely. An other example of something i had to change my attitude towards was sneakers. Long story short , i used to only wear Nike sneakers and I hated Jordan. I changed it because I stopped buying it. But my friends loved Jordans and started wearing them all the time. I tried to get them to stop but i couldn't so i just let it be and accepted that they like it and i don't and that there is nothing i can do about it. But one day i tried on a pair of Jordans and instantly changed my attitude towards them. they were so nice and comfortable that i started buying them and became a sneakerhead. That is what I think Maya meant by her quote, that if we can't change something , learn to accept it or just give it a try.

  7. Make a change. Maya Angelou one said ‘’ If you don’t like something change it, change your attitude.’’ I think she meant instead of complaining about something stupid do something different so you do not complain as much. You can change anything if you try super hard. If you do not like being lazy change it and do not be lazy. If you are fat change it and eat better and be outside. It is totally easier to say than to do but there is no doubt in the history of everything that has ever existed says that it is not possible to not be lazy. There is also no doubt that you can’t be healthy. Everything is only possible if you make it possible. If you want change you will have to change it and not make other people. Everybody has the power and ability to get what they want. Some people give up and some people do not. If you are the kind of person to give up and not care you have to change it. Anybody can fly to the moon or make it to the Olympics or be in the NFL or be a professional soccer player. Anybody can be a hobo or an accountant or sit a desk all day long but it is all about what you want and how dedicated you are and how much you want it. So if you sit at a desk all day and you hate it go to space school and learn how to fly to the moon. You can do anything. You can be anything. You can change anything. Your whole life is up to you. You can make it epic. You need the right attitude to get what you need and to go where you need to go. It is all up to you.

    1. I agree with molly because she is right, you can change anything. Just like her example when she says you can become not lazy if you don't want to be lazy. Also I agree with molly because she's says something really interesting in her blog. She says that anythings possible if you make it possible. Those words pretty much explain what Maya is trying to say in her quote.

    2. I also agree with molly because what she said is true. Because people who get annoyed easily they obviously get mad. But instead of changing them they can try to change themselves. Also all those people who have faults and don't want them instead of sitting around and not doing anything get up and change what you don't like about yourself. That's why I agree with molly

  8. The quote “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” by Maya Angelou has many great meanings. To me, i think this quote means, if you want to change something in your life that you don’t like then you should try to change it. But if you’re unable to change it then i think you should change the way you act and feel about things. If you change your attitude and the way you look and feel at things then it could affect the way you feel about changing something. If you’re uncomfortable about something in your life and you can’t change it because they way you act then i think you should change the way you act if you seriously want to change that one or more than one thing. I think that what shes saying is what she actually means because its a good quote, i agree a lot with her because if you want to change something sometimes you’re going to have to change the way you act. A time when this happened was last year when I got into a fight with my friend but she was the wrong one and she had to change her attitude.

  9. Maya Angelou once said “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” To me this quote means that if you dont like something maybe its not the thing itself, maybe its your attitude. Also i think this means that you can change anything you want to change. For example, school. In school you get the grades you deserve. LIke if you don't do any of your homework or don’t study for any test and then you complain about your grades, you should change them. You can start doing your homework and start studying, that would bring your grades up.Another example is, like or not liking friends. Sometimes you may not like a lot of people and they might just bother you with everything they do. Maybe its not the person that is a problem, maybe its your attitude. And you can always change your attitude, just like maya says in her quote.

I have a really good time in my life that explains this quote perfectly. One year I got really lazy, even more than i already am. I use to keep my room a mess. I wouldn't put my laundry away, i wouldn't make my bed, and i wouldn't even close my drawers. And i would always complain to myself about how i hate my room and how its so gross. But my room wasn't the problem. It was me. I was the one that made the mess, so i can clean it up. So then one day i stayed home to clean my room instead of going out with my friends. At the end i was happy with what i did, my room was clean. I didn't like something so i changed it.

  10. So before you start reading I could be completely wrong on this because reasons and this is my opinion so if anyone decides to say "You did it wrong that is not what the answer is" well then mistakes are made. What Maya Angelou meant by "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change you attitude" was that only you can make decision for you own sake. If you do not enjoy doing something well then you have the option to change it to something you have fun doing or get more benefit from it. If you can't change it and you are stuck with it at least change the way how you think about it and don't treat what you are doing or active in like it is a prison or it will be a prison...for you. For Example, if I was in Baseball and I wasn't good at it and I wanted to switch to Cross Country. I could be able to switch to Cross Country or I might be stuck on Football and I need to get used to it or it will be worse than you think. That example to confusing for you, well here is an easier one that will make a little more sense than the other one did. Say for Christmas you get a $60 game for Xbox 360 and you don't like it. You can have two ways this could end up going. If you open up the plastic and play the game and already have scratches on it from playing it and you find out you can't get that game replaced for another game. Even if you can't exchange it just don't make it seem like this game is the worst and I hate Santa Claus for getting me it (anyone believe in him don't want to crush someones' dream). If you don't open up the game and know that it is not good, you can return it to GameStop and get the game changed to something that you desire more than the game you got for Christmas. Hopefully, this was a good enough of an opinion to explain what this quote could mean.

  11. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” - once said by Maya Angelou. What this quote means to me is that if you don’t like the way you do things in life do it differently and if you're not sure how to than, change the way you are .And what I mean by this is that if you stay up all night trying to finish all your work that you forgot to do during the day and you don’t like it because you'd rather take a long nap and this reason was probably because, one you were probably to lazy to do it during the day or two you probably thought you still had time later and decided to do something you wanted to do more than you’re work, for example like going on your phone, watching a movie, hanging with your friends, playing a sport you had to stay after for or did usual falling a sleep. Therefore if you try to change it and you can’t seem to change it because you get to distracted by other things and time seems to pass by fast then I will suggest to put everything out of your mind and focus on your work more, stop being lazy and use your time wisely. Anyway I do think what she is saying is as she makes it seem because when she said If you don't like something, change it and changing something you don’t like is hard to change which leads with her saying,If you can't change it, change your attitude, because she knows that some people are not compatible to change their disliking so thats why she added another saying for those who don’t know or understand of how to change something they dislike. Therefore a time in my life when this quote was applicable will be the same with the example I gave with explaining the meaning I thought of this quote. And thats when I dislike the lack of homework I have to do at night and I rather be sleeping and this happens because I get to distracted with me thinking too much or I fall asleep. Therefore I try to change it because I dislike this habit very much and I try to change it by hurrying up and finishing my work, but I can’t seem to change it because I get to lazy and distracted, which means I need to start being less distracted and lazy as well and change my attitude as well. Therefore this is what I think this quote means to me and how it can be applicable to my life.

  13. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” I think this mean that if you don't like something and can't change it instead of getting mad or something just leave. There's no need for someone or you to get mad. Sometimes the way my brother does things I hate it. And every time I try to change it, it will never work. So I just leave. There's no point for me to try if i'm not going to get what I want. I think what shes saying is what she makes i seem because its true. If you can't change what you want then change your attitude. Sometimes you have to think. Because you can't get every thing you want. People all around of the world have different personalities. You can't really change peoples personality, so instead just change yours.

  14. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” - Maya Angelou. What I think this quote means is that if you don’t like something then change it, but if you don’t like something and can’t change it, then get over it. For example, if you don’t like the shirt your friend is wearing than you can change it if you ask, but if they like the shirt and don’t want to change it then you should change your feelings. Sometimes, if you don’t like something then you can change it. Not everything goes your way so you should instead of not liking something you should look at it a different way so maybe you do like it. I don’t like things sometimes also that I can or cannot change. For example, sometimes I don’t see why people need to disrespect adults sometimes. I don’t like it because it’s annoying when a student tries to argue with an adult. I wasn’t raised to disrespect adults so I don’t do it. One day my friend was arguing with a teacher and then when it was over I told him that to stop because being disrespectful isn’t going to get you anywhere and he listened. Then one day my sister was being disrespectful and I told her to stop and she didn’t listen. I couldn’t change what I didn’t like with my sister so I changed my attitude and now if people disrespect adults I don’t say anything because now they can get in trouble because I won’t care. This quote is very literal. It’s not something that you have to think about to know what it is. When Maya Angelou wrote this quote I think that she was straight forward with it. “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” That is what I think this quote means and what I think what she is saying is as she makes it seem.

  15. The Quote if you don’t like something change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. By Maya Angelou means to me that if you have something u don’t like that you can change then change it. For example if you are mad at someone then you can change it which also can go in line with changing your attitude. This quote means a lot to me because it is true with every purpose and the quote means a lot to others .
The quote also is saying if you can’t change what you like then maybe its your attitude and how you are acting to someone or something. The quote can mean a lot in others peoples views but I think it means that you got to change who you are sometimes if you can’t change it. For example if you are in a relationship and the person is getting mad at you either you got to change it or you got to change yourself and how you are being towards that person. The quote means that if you change your attitude then it can change the outcome of the problem and then maybe you will like it. That’s what this quote means to me and what the meaning of it is.

  18. 1. "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude"-Maya Angelou. It means to me is that there are things you can change and there are things you can't change. How you respond to the situation is your choice. We may or may not have a choice in a situation but the mind is something that we are always capable of changing. This quote is about choice. It is not always easy. Last year, my grandmother went into a coma after a stroke. The doctors gave no hope of recovery, and it felt like something I couldn’t really change. What I could change was my attitude. I visited her in the hospital, prayed for her, talked to her, read some scriptures to her, tried to be there for my father. Then she passed away, which was another situation I couldn’t control. What I could control was my attitude. I just tried to be there for family members and give hugs. Another situation I couldn’t control was that my dog was diagnosed with Addison’s disease last year. Hunter’s adrenal gland doesn’t work and he almost died. Even though he is only 18 months old, Hunter is like a family member to me. I wasn’t able to change the situation, but I changed my attitude and tried to do the best for him. He gets an injection every month and medication every day. I take care of him by running with him and feeding him. I try to enjoy him every day. In some ways, it has been a rough year. But through these experiences, I have learned to be stronger. Situations can be difficult, but the mind is something you can change to make the best of them.

  19. Maya Angelou’s quote “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude,” means a lot to because I someone in my family would often say something that was very similar to what Maya is saying. I interrupted her quote to mean that if you are unpleased with something you have the power to make the best out of a situation. For example if you do not like a person that is in your class you have the power to relocate away from him or her, and if you are unable then you have the power to change your attitude. Something that comes to mind when I hear this quote is the old saying “don’t see a glass as half empty, but see it as half full.” I say this also because you will always have the power to make the best out a situation by just changing the way you “see” it. I do think what she is saying is as she makes it seem. I say this because Maya Angelou had a lot of obstacles to face when it came to racism and there had to be some occasions where she had to change her attitude In order to make the situation better.
One real life experience I had that involved Maya Angelo’s quote “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude,” was when I was in 8th grade and got suspended. I’m not going to get into detail what happened to cause the suspension, however I will tell you how I made the best of it. While I was suspended I was left alone because my family was all working so I deiced to fix up our deck, clean my room, make dinner and finished up wash just so my mom didn’t have to do and I continued this up to my day were I would help of all the chores and to be honest I had fun doing it. Another example was when I snapped my wrist and was out of sports. At first I was really mad, however I later saw it as an opportunity to improve my grades which I did. That is how I used Maya Angelou’s quote “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude,” in my real life.

I wanted to play a game on Xbox. My other friend want me to play a different game. He told me that my game wasn’t good and I should like his game. I told him that I don’t like that game and I am not going to change what I like to something that someone liked.
