"Immature love
says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I
love you.”
* What does this quote mean to you? Explain it's meaning in
your own words.
* What is the difference between mature love and immature
love? Be sure to use detail and discuss how it could relate to Romeo and
Juliet.
"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” I believe this means that if you are just saying "I love you" to your girlfriend/ boyfriend because you feel obligated too just because your dating them, then that's immature love because you don't really love the person, and you think you "need" them when you really just like to brag to your friends you have a boyfriend/girlfriend. I think that the mature love part of this qoute( I love you because I need you) means that when a person really loves you they love you so much that they need you. What I mean by "they need you" is that they want to be around you and your personality, and they want to be there for you, and you too be there for them in return,so that's genuine love.
ReplyDeleteThere are many differences between mature love and immature love . I believe one difference is that in immature love you can just throw out the phrase "I love you" all the time and not mean it. I'm not saying this is in all cases, but some couples are just like " I love you" to each other a million times a day, when they probably don't physically love the person. They may love them, but not with ALL their heart, and they probably wouldn't take a bullet for their boyfriend/girlfriend. I think that in mature love, you can say "I love you" and genuinely mean it. I believe this because if you love them so much that you need them, you WOULD take a bullet for them, because you couldn't live without them. An example of this in Romeo and Juliet is that In one part of the story it talks about how Juliet took sleeping medicine to stop loving Romeo so much, and when Romeo found Juliet sleeping, he thought she was dead so he killed himself. When Juliet awoke, she found him dead and killed herself. I believe this is mature love because they loved each other so much, they believed they couldn't live without one another.
Love is a very powerful word and has very powerful affects on the people you say it too. I think more people should use the word "love" less and not just throw it around to everyone. It should have some sentimenal value.
hey Carlie, I enjoyed your blog this week. I really liked what you said about taking a bullet for someone that you love; however if you didn't love them with all your heart you wouldn't. I also agree with what you said about how powerful love is, and what kind of affects it has on people. I enjoyed your blog entry this week and I look forward to your future entrees!
DeleteCarlie, nice job on this weeks blog! your example for Romeo Juliet was great! It completely made sense with this weeks quote. Also, i definitely agree with you on what immature love is and mature love is. And how love is so powerful. Any way great job!!
DeleteCarlie, I really liked your blog this week. I loved the examples that you used, especially the one about taking a bullet a bullet for someone. I agree 100% with everything that you said. I also liked how you said how powerful love can be, and how it should be used less. Last, I liked the example you used about Romeo and Juliet. Great job this week and keep up the good work!
DeleteGreat job with your blog this week. I agree with you 100 percent. Love should have sentimental value. Otherwise it is just unexplained feelings. Keep up the great work with your blogs
DeleteGreat job on your blog this week Carlie. I really agree when you said that immature love was when you just want to brag to your friends that you have a boyfriend/girlfriend. I also a agreed when you said that mature love is when you would take a bullet for that person. When you say I love you to someone, you have to mean it. Love is a powerful word that shouldn't be just tossed around. Keep up the great work!
Deletegood job on your blog this week. I agree with how you explained it. you also used great details. keep up the good work.
Delete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” This quote means that immature love is the unconditional type of love. Its the kind of love and relationship between two people that would cross to the end of the world for each other. However when this quote says "I love you because I need you" is the type of love that gets tossed around. The quote this week is the difference between star cross lovers and people who say they're in love without realizing how powerful the word love really is. To me this quote can relate to Romeo and Juliet in so many ways. For example the moral of this story is that Juliet is fast asleep because she took some medicine, and Romeo finds her and thinks that she is dead; so he takes his life. This is the difference between mature and immature love because mature love as in Romeo and Juliet. Romeo takes his life because he cant bare to take another breath in a world where Juliet is not. Mean while, immature love is a simple puppy dog love relationship, which doesn't last. The quote "Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” can relate to me because of my relationship right now. So many people including my family tell me that my relationship isn't going to last, or that I don't know what love is. However, my boyfriend and I have been together for a year and 5 months. Even though this isn't a long time, when I look at him I see my future. I no I'm young, and stupid, and I still have a lot to learn; but I've never been more sure about anything in my entire life. My boyfriend has been in my life through everything and I don't know where I would be without him. He's held me when I was at my lowest point, he believed in me when no one else did, he crosses seas for me even if its just for a day; and he's overall the best thing that's ever happened to me. My boyfriend and I are 267 miles apart, but the miles mean so little when someone means so much. The quote "Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” is very easy to relate to, and if your truly, head over heels in love with someone you'll know because you would do anything and everything for each other.
ReplyDeleteI love what your opinion was on my blog this week. Thanks for commenting on it. Your blog was another outstanding job today. One part I loved was when you said " immature love is puppy love" I think that was an amazing example to relate to the qoute, because it matches it perfectly. Great job as usual :)
DeleteI think your blog this week was fantastic, and I agree greatly. I think your comparison of the quote to Romeo and Juliet was completely honest. I really couldn’t have put it in better words myself Maddy! I feel like you really interpreted the quote the way it was meant to, you made it really easy to understand.
Delete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you’, Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” I think this quote means, that you shouldn’t live somebody just because you feel like you have to. Love isn’t something that you’re going to find easily, it takes time. You don’t have to love someone because you need them, you can have them, and you don’t need to love them. Mature love says; “I need you because I love you”, I think this means that they actually love you. They aren’t just saying they need you, they are saying they need you because they love you. Whoever is saying they need you, they want to be around you, they like the way you are, so it makes them live that about you. There’re a bunch of differences between mature love and immature love. When you say “I love you” you are so pose to mean it. You’re so pose to be mature about it. You’re so pose to have actual feelings for the person. You don’t just like them because you think they are cute or a nice person. You should have a reason. For example, say I loved someone, and I needed them, but I wanted them mostly because I loved them. I loved them for the way they acted, their personality. Not just for their looks. On the other hand, when people just keep saying “I love you” every two seconds of each day, they probably don’t even mean it. They are just saying it. Same thing when kids start dating, they literally have been dating for at least an hour or two hours and they are already saying “I love you.” No, you probably don’t even know what the word love means. An example from Romeo and Juliet was when Romeo walked in on Juliet thinking she was dead when she was actually sleeping, he couldn’t live without her so he killed himself. Soon afterwards Juliet woke up and realized Romeo had just killed himself, so she did the same. That’s an example of true love because they both took their lives because they couldn’t stand not living together.
ReplyDeleteYou explained it so well I love it. You write so well in your blogs. I completely agree this your blog this week. I really like the way you explained the difference between the both of them. I even like way you talked about Romeo and Juliet. Great job this week!
Delete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” I think this quote means that today we say teens are immature. So with that they just do what they feel is whatever. Now at days teens say I love you to their girlfriend/boyfriend just because everyone else does. But really they don’t mean it in the way they should. I think of it as that you shouldn’t love because you need them. It’s better to need them to love them. Just because you need someone there for you doesn’t mean you have to say you love you them. They could do so much just for you without saying love. You don’t know what love really is until you are mature and teens don’t realize that. The difference between immature and mature love is a lot. This is because mature love and people know what is going on and how to handle it. They understand what is feels like and doesn’t just do something for their one other just to do it or to say it. They do it because they feel it’s the real thing to do. On the other hand immature love and people just do it to do it, as I said before. It is mostly with teens because they want to act older than they really are. Also they want to feel the say people in love really feel. It’s better to wait because if you keep thinking you love that person you would feel it like before. But in Romeo and Juliet they really have love for each other they are both mature and now what they are doing. Just by reading, watching, and listening to people talk about it you will understand. They tried and made it to what they wanted. In my opinion I really think they were in love.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on your blog this week! You always do a great job at explaining the quotes & also are very good at detail. I completely agree with you and believe you hit all the right points. You're very spot on, great job this week Alyssa!
Delete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” I think this quote could mean a lot of different things. In immature love, you would just be taking that person for granted until you find someone better. I don't know about you, but in my opinion that just sick and awful. A lot of people will go for immature love just because all their other friends are getting boyfriends / girlfriends and they just want to fit in. I don't understand why you would tell someone that you love them when in reality you're just using them as bait to get someone better. If you really loved someone and it was mature love, you would take a bullet for them. Real love isn't about your popularity level, or your reputation with your friends. Mature love is when you basically can't even live without that person. Love is a very powerful word and it shouldn't be something that is just tossed around like it means nothing. You have to mean it is just immature love. I believe that the story of Romeo and Juliet is an excellent example of mature love. Their families are trying to keep them apart but they love each other too much to be apart. In the story Juliet is being forced to marry Paris. She doesn't want to be with him so she drinks a sleeping potion the night before to make her family think she was dead. She was planning on running away with Romeo when she woke up. When Romeo saw her asleep he thought she was dead so he killed himself. When Juliet awoke and saw Romeo dead, she killed herself because she couldn't live without him. When Romeo and Juliet said that they loved each other, it was mature love. They couldn't live without each other.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your response. I like how you talk about people are just dating because their friends are dating and doing it for reputation and to fit in. People will date anyone just to say they are dating and to say I love you.
DeleteA wise man once said a wise quote. “Immature love says ‘I love you because I need you’ , Mature love says ‘I need you because I love you.” This quote was said by Erich Fromm. This quote could mean many things to many people all around you. However, to me this quote means that you do not really know what love is until you find the person that you need, or that you know you can rely on. Immature love are the relationships that you have while you are in middle school/high school and say I love you to that other person. When you are that age, you do not know what real love is because you are so young. Mature love is when you have the person that you live your whole life with and that you love more than anything else.
ReplyDeleteThere is a really big difference between mature love and immature love. Mature love is the person that you will spend the rest of your life with. Also, in immature love, “I love you” can be said all the time, but no none would really mean it. Last, in mature love, you would love the person will ALL of your heart, not just some of it like you would in immature love. In mature love, you would do absolutely anything for the person that you are in love with, and that includes taking a bullet for them, or even helping them fight a battle. You would always be there for the person that you truly love and care about.
This could be used to describe Romeo and Juliet in many ways. For example, Juliet took some sleeping medicine and when Romeo found her, he thought she was dead so he killed himself to be with her. When Juliet finally woke up and found the Romeo killed himself, she did the same.
Love is very powerful and should only be used when it is truly meant and not just thrown around, like it always is.
I think i this is very interesting. I like how you used your words. I also like how you were very descriptive
Delete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” This quote can mean many things to different people. To me the quote is saying that immature love is different from mature love. In immature love , you only love this person because you need them. You're mistaking your feelings believing its love but in reality its only you needing that person besides you. You need this person and it helps you feel better and it is mistaken for love. That is immature love. In mature love, you need this person because you love them. You love this person so much that it hurts you when they're not by your side. Your love is so strong for one another you can't help but feel the need to be next to them as much as possible. That is the difference of immature and mature love. This is what the quote is saying. This does not connect to me or any of my life experiences. I don’t focus on others love life nor have i ever focused on love.
ReplyDeleteWhat I think the quote "Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you" means is since you need something you might as well get used to it and love it. For the mature love, I think it means since you love that person, you need them in your life. Immature love is when you are just dating the person and don't actually understand the full meaning of the word love. Mature love is when you are actually truly in love with a person and you have a great relationship. If someone is truly in love with someone than they would do anything for the other person or even take a bullet. How this relates to Romeo and Juliet is when Juliet takes the sleeping potion and Romeo finds her and thinks she is dead but, she is really asleep and Romeo kills himself because he can't live without Juliet. Then when Juliet wakes up she finds Romeo dead and kills herself so she can also be with him. This is definitely true and mature love because they kill their selves to be with each other. Another example from Romeo and Juliet is when Romeo said he couldn't live without Rosaline and when he saw Juliet he totally got over Rosaline. This was immature love because Romeo said he loved Rosaline when he actually he didn't. He just probably had a crush on her. At the time he probably had never even felt true love before he met Juliet and even then at first it might have just been a crush also.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said about Romeo and Juliet along with Rosaline. You used good detail and I enjoyed reading it. Good work!
DeleteThis quote means a few things to me. I feel like this quote can depend on many things. This quote kind of sums up the fact that just because you need someone doesn’t mean you actually love them, I think certain people crave love for reasons like being lonely or wanting to brag about it. And I think that is the immature love. I think mature love wasn’t really intended in the beginning, like they weren’t determined and desperate to just have anyone. Often, people who rush into things do not really fall, they kind of just want to love someone so they convince themselves and everyone around them that its true love. In the end it eventually doesn’t work out. I think mature love is sort of like people who fell for someone’s personality before looks. I personally do not believe in love at first sight. I believe in thinking someone is extremely attractive, but I think personality is way more important. Justin Bieber for example, he’s pretty attractive but his personality is terrible. Yes, I do not know him personally, but from what I know about him already, I know we wouldn’t get along well. I think the story of Romeo and Juliet would be a much more beautiful story if I believed in love at first sight. I feel like the story is supposed to have a way deeper meaning than everyone interprets, but I haven’t figured it out. In the long run, I think Shakespeare was a huge believer of love at first sight, or that is the beauty of the story, the fact that no one will ever truly know what Shakespeare’s intentions were. I think that is actually what his intentions were; he wanted people to have their own opinion, whether Romeo was really in love with either Juliet or Rosaline or if it were lust.
ReplyDeleteImmature love says "i love you because i need you. Mature love says "i need you because i love you". I believe that whoever wrote this truly understands love. The writer of this quote meant that true love is when two people are truly in love, they feel like they need each other. They feel like they're bond is so strong that they need to be with one another in order to live they're life in happiness. However, immature love is completely different. When two immature people love each other, they feel that they need to be with that person, because they think that they are in love with each other. However, that isn't the true meaning of love. An example of immature love is Romeos (love) for Rosaline in Romeo & Juliet. This is true because Romeo claimed to be madly in love with Rosaline, and then when Juliet and Romeo meet, they say they instantly "Madly in love". If Romeo ever really loved Rosaline, he woudn't have forgot about her right when he saw Juliet. I guess you can say Romeo is a player.
ReplyDeleteSORRY I ACCIDENTALLY HIT PUBLISH TOO EARLY BUT.....
ReplyDeleteAlso, Romeo is the kind of person that just doesn't know what they want in life yet. He shuldnt be looking for love at all until he knows what he wants in a women, and until he knows what kind of girl will make him happy, and what kind of girl he wants to be with for a long time, or possibly a lifetime. These kinds of decisions are one shouldn't make until they are mature enough to make very important decisions or possibly life choices.
What this quote means to me, is that if you love somebody just because you need them, or feel like you need them at least; that is completely immature. On the other hand, if you need somebody because you honest and truly love them that is a completely different story. The difference between real love & true love in my opinion is just the basics. You cannot love somebody if you don't really know them; but that's just what I think. I don't believe Romeo loves Juliet, nor Rosaline. I think he is big on lust and will love anybody who even gives him a hint of attention. I think he's an example of immature love. There's no way that he could be madly in love with Juliet after just one night, I just don't believe in it. You cannot love somebody with such little experience and I don't believe that he has ever loved anybody. Immature love, is when you do not really love somebody, but lust for them. It is completely different than mature love where you would & will do anything for them. Real love really has to do with loving somebody for them, not what they look like; but what they believe in. Loving somebody for something as silly as a kiss is absolutely ridiculous, and I don't think that's real. Actually loving somebody will hurt you and may tear you apart at times, but you'll think it's worth it. I don't believe you ever truly give up on the person you love. Which I believe is not the case at all with Romeo. Romeo is very immature and vulnerable and would love a goat if it paid a slight bit of attention to him. I think Juliet is the same way, she will give up on anything if it gets too hard & only go for things if they are easy to do. They both do not know what they want to do with themselves, which makes their love very immature.
ReplyDeleteHey Mia! Great entry this week. I agree with your blog completely and that Juliet and Romeo are both immature.I agree that Juliet seems like type of person to give up easily, even though I haven't read it yet
Deletein my opinion this is great. I think that the people that u related this to was great. along with romeo and Juliet. good job !$$$$
Delete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” This quote means many things and it relates to me and the real world around me. Immature love is love that really isn't developed enough to call it "love" and the people in the relationship aren't old enough or wise enough to know the true meaning of love. You should not need the other person. You should already be a healthy, happy person and the other person should enhance your happiness. It takes two healthy people to make a healthy relationship. You don't "need" each other, you enhance each others happiness. You shouldn't love someone because you need them. This shows that you need someone and you will love anyone who is there to help. If you need someone because you love them, this means that you can't just let them go. You are so in love with that individual that you mentally need them in your life. There is a big difference between mature love and immature love. If love is mature, you have a strong, healthy relationship. You are there for each other and you will do anything to keep them happy. If love is immature, on the other hand, then it is not fully developed. You don't completely enhance each other's happiness. You wouldn't do anything to keep each other. It is more of a crush then actual love. I would say that mature love is when you're actually "in love" with the person. Romeo and Juliet in my opinion have mature love. Although it was so quick, they fell in love with each other. They literally take their lives for one another. They make each other very happy. They don't have immature love. Overall, there is a huge difference between immature love and mature love. Mature love is true love and immature love isn't.

ReplyDelete"Immature love says, 'I love you because I need you' , Mature love says, 'I need you because I love you.” Is a simple quote that means a lot. Immature people look at the world so differently than the wise, mature humans on this earth. Immature people know the difference between love and falseness, they use more adult words like urine and feces, knowing when to use the appropriate words at the right time. Anyway, mature people learn differently and faster than the immature group in our society that choose to keep updated on what celebrity is wearing what. Immature people use the words love and hate like a simple verb, thrown around like its rubbish, with no true meaning. They view it as if when you need someone, you love them. According to the quote, Immature people can love their doctor, because they need their help staying healthy. Immature love comes from the people who don’t understand the real feeling of being in love, and not many get to feel that feeling. Maturity comes from immaturity in my opinion, and the people who know what true love is, knows what isn't from experience. People who have had experience know the difference between love and need, and like the quote states, mature people understand that even if you love the person you need in your life, you love them not because you need them, but because you love them genuinely. In the story 'Romeo and Juliet' by Shakespeare, the maturity of the situation differs. For example, Tybalt seems immature because of his hatred for peace, and Romeo seems immature for falling in and out of love so suddenly with women he barely knows. He falls in love so easily and suddenly with people he's destined to hate. Yet, Juliet shows maturity for knowing she is too young for marriage, and is mature about the situation with her mother. Romeo and Juliet seems to me a roller coaster of a story that I can't wait to read
ReplyDeleteThis quote says “I need you because I love you,” and “I love you because I need you,” which in my opinion it means that you have some one that you love will very often be loved. I say this because having an immature love is not always not loving some one. However, love is needing someone that you are so in love with that you really need that person. Immature love says I love you because I need you Mature love says I need you because I love you. This is a quote that can relate to many things such as movies songs poems. I think that the writer is trying to portray the reader to learn from the poem. True love isn’t about looks its also about personality. An example is love at first sight. Love at first sight is not true because you can’t really love someone just by seeing them you have to get to know the person before saying you love them just like Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. Are many quotes that relate to this like I said before true love and immature love can be the same if you really do love them. This is because you are not actually in love if you don’t have true feeling for the person if you just like them. But if you really are in love with someone you can’t stop having feelings for them . For example, in Romeo and Juliet Romeo is always hitting the gas pedal to fast and to early always falling in love with the first lady he sees and then he ends up all heart broken. And even then Romeo had immature love feeling towards Juliet, at least for the first act. That is the difference between immature and mature love
“Immature love says, I love you be cause I need you, mature love says, I need you because I love you.” I think that this quote could mean many things, its how you think of it. I interpreted this quote meaning that you should not love some one because you need someone, that means you a desperate and don’t really love that person you just want some one to love. You can not just find love when you want to. Just because you want to love someone does not mean love some random person. But it also says if you are mature enough, you will not love someone just to love a person, you will need them because you love them. I think this means that if you need some one you do love them and not just because you need someone to love. Saying I love you can mean a bunch of different things just because you say I love you it does not mean you really mean it. If I say I love you to be nice and say I love you to some one and really mean it means 2 different things and that’s why the quote is saying that there is 2 different types of love. Saying I love you, even though they are the same words does not mean they have the same meaning. When Romeo walks into the room rome o thinks that Juliet is dead even though she is really sleeping. Being that Romeo thought jul iet had died, he killed himself because he wanted to be with her even though he did not know she was really alive. Juliet woke up to Romeo dead. She wanted to be with romeo so she killed herself, not knowing that he only killed himself because he thought she was dead. In my opinion Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other is a mature love.
