The quote “Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.” Has many meanings one of the meanings that I perceive is that before you say somethings you should make sure that it is good. Many people don't do this and end up hurting other peoples feelings. For example someone saying you suck at something will most of the time make the person very depressed and make them give up on themselves. Instead of you telling someone they suck at something maybe you should actually try to help them or give advice to them so they don't feel like a total loser. When you are about to say something make sure that it has a positive effect on them because there is to much cruelty and hate in this world. I remember a time that I should have used this quotes advice. It was when I was about ten and I told my older sister that I hated her and she didn't talk to me for a whole week I then apologized because when I said that I didn't mean it and I was just mad when I said it. My event proved that since I told my sister I hated her she got very annoyed at me. Sometimes the best thing to do is to just make sure you are nice instead of negative to a certain individual. When someone reads this quote they should think “will this hurt the person I am talking to or will this have a good effect?” If we all thought at least three seconds before we said or did something I guarantee this world would be a better place. This is my interpretation of this would it could be wrong but its what I believe.

It can make someone feel depressed and make them want to give up on there hopes and dreams. You should always try to make them reach their goals and make sure your words will have a good effect on that person.

I don't know how this relates my life. I don't talk to people and the that do talk to all have said something horrible. It also doesn't relate to me either. When I speak to people I say what I want , if it sounds harsh than it sounds harsh. It doesn't matter if the person takes it the wrong way then thats on them. For an example if you were saying how that Harry Potter was awful because they had nothing about wizards and were just to short you would be consider a straight up idiot and knew nothing about what you were talking about and you gave people the wrong information and made them seem like complete morons and they would blame you and then you would be thee complete moron. It happened to so many people that I know and personally it was because it was from their friend and they never thought to look up the answer or what they have bin told. It happened to me a few times and I felt like a complete idiot. It is unestly the worst feeling that happens in my opinion. But when it happens to me I just laugh it off because I know that not everyone can be right even if the answer is always in front of him or her because they never thought to look. So when this ever happens to you just remember were humans, not a god. And if you get made fun of it remember that we all put our pants on the same way, which means we all mess up and that they have faults to. When I got made fun of for getting something wrong because I didn’t know it I thought I was a complete idiot and that I should just drop out of school because I thought I was the stupidest person alive. But my uncle told me that saying and I felt a lot better because it is the truth. But they have, and will keep as long as this quote is truly remebered. In my mind I think this quote means that sometimes things you say can hurt someone or make them stronger in a way. Sometimes you blurt things out that you havent meant to say, but that doesn’t mean you thought twice about it before saying it. Sometimes that happens but in another person they will either take it to do better and try harder. Others on the other hand might take it hard and think they arent good enough anymore. They should give up because failure is the only way out now. That isnt the case at all!!! When someone says something you should take it as I need to work harder do better to be happy. But you’re not doing it for that other person because you care about what they think. You’re gonna do it to show them that im better then what you thought I was, better then what you think I could’ve ever done! If you take it as failure you let them get the best of you and then it keeps getting and getting and getting to you. You can change that. You’ll just have to make it happen to show them you’re better and higher then there expectations! A time in my life when this quote was applicable to the situatuion was someone told me I wasn’t good enough, or atleast made me feel I wasn’t good enough. And so, I took that as something to motivate me to be a better person, have a better attitude. It helped me a lot more then I thought. Yeah at first it hurt really bad because I tried all I could to be good enough and it just didn’t work. Now after all that hurting went away I took as something to motivate me! This quote truly is something I can relate to, with past events that happened in my life.

Also they are very sensitive. No one can take jokes anymore. Especially in this generation. Some times people don't think. You cant say stupid stuff. that will get you no where in life. ReplyDeleteA time in my life where i could relate to this quote is when i was little. I got really sick and kids were making fun of my cough. this really upset me because i didn't understand my disease and why they would laugh and make fun of someone who was in the hospital it made me not want to do anything. If those kids didn’t mock my cough or call me noms i would have been better off but they set me up for failure and i pulled though to be successful. another time was when m and my sister got into a fight like no other we called each other the worst names and said we hated each other. we weren't thinking of how it would affect our relationship with each other we did not think twice about how the other was feeling.

This quote means your words influence others. It makes you think further than, "Think before you speak," because instead of just thinking about the consequences for you, you think about the way it will affect others of a period of time. This quote means means your words and actions influence others so be careful with what you say and how you say it. Think about how they are feeling or what they're going through. They may not see it the same way as you do, so tread carefully. Every word you say can affect others, whether it be negatively or positively depends mostly on them. Your words could be the straw that broke the horses back and push them off the edge, or your words could reach out and grab someone off faltering on that ledge. You can never be 100% sure how you will affect someone. Even your actions, your body language your facial expressions and how you act around others can affect them too, so be very careful.
ReplyDeleteOne example I have is when people ask, "Are you tired?" only two situations come out of that, "I am tired and now I'm aware I look bad," or, "No I'm not tired and now I'm aware I look bad." People don't realize this but that questions only hurts 99% of the time. I can only stress this so much. People are fragile like butterflies, easy to hurt and hard to help them soar again. What you say can affect them for the rest of their life. If you could take back some thing you ever said, what would it be?

DeleteI think the saying, “Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.” means that you should watch what you say to someone because that person you are talking to could be someone very important to you in the future like a police officer or maybe even your boss. I also think it could mean the words you say to someone can influence you your expected behavior and maybe even your whole future. A example could be is you could be talking to a teacher or a adult and you start giving them a attitude or start using profanity it's not going to make you look good and if it's a teacher your not going to be getting a good grade in the class and your teacher would probably strongly dislike you and you would definitely not be recommended to any colleges. Another example is lets say your in school and your a "bully" and start calling this same kid names and stealing his money and beat the kid up. 10 Years later the kid could be a manager or boss of the company you wanna work at. The kid or now adult now can make your job that your really wanted terrible and/or he can just not hire you and you would be unemployed because you bullied a kid in high school. One last final example could be is that you could be a very nice person but you blurted something extremely inappropriate or illegal out and someone like a police officer or Adult heard you could be in major trouble depending on what you said. In some cases you may even get a record and that could possibly ruin your life forever especially if your over the age of eight-teen.
ReplyDeleteA time were I could relate this saying was applicable to my life was when I was little (Four and five) and I used profanity more then I would like to admit. To be fair I did not know what any of the words really meant and I was never trying to offend anyone nor was I saying them directly to anyone but it earned me a bad reputation in the family. I was called potty mouth and stuff like that for years even today if I accidentally say profanity around my family I get called out for being a "Bad Mouth" now though they there are obviously just saying that to annoy me. So for using profanity when I was four and five I still have the "Bad Mouth" reputation as my family likes to call it. Even though now I hardly ever use profanity and when I do it's extremely rare and I usually try to stop myself. Luckily for me I have a younger cousin now who also has the "Bad Mouth" reputation so I no longer have to take the full blow of the "Bad Mouth" reputation anymore!
I Totally agree because if u have a smart mouth it would come back and get you back. Also I agree cause I had a reputation of a big mouth to and I agree about the bully part to cause I wrote that on mine to. DeleteThe quote "think twice before you speak, Because you're words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another" means to me is you have to be careful of what you say or speak because if you say something that could hurt somebody you will get in trouble or be in trouble because the person might take it the wrong way and then they might beat you up or try to do something that can hurt you so if you say something mean to another person just make sure you watch your back but if you say something genius you can become very successful like for example, "you just have to believe" that means that you believe and your getting your fellow mates to believe and if your in the superbowl and you belive and you have a good team you will win I guarantee it. An example of this is I was in man class and I was getting yelled at and I was getting so mad I was about to stand up and start screaming back but I thought to my self, what will happen if you do this, how much trouble will you get in, will he kick me out and I did the right thing and didn't start screaming and I told my teacher I am sincerely sorry and he said it's on and have me a jolly rancher. See if you listen to this quote success will come and you just have to listen to your heart and every little thing is gonna be alright. For example if you say a joke about someone and they think its offensive they can tell on you and you might lose some friends and some people can think your a bully and you can get in trouble and the principle may not like you. Like last year I heard that quote a lot because I usto get in a lot of trouble last year with detention iss and oss. I think this quote can help people just like how it helped me. ReplyDeleteI think it means that if you say something really bad about someone it will come back and bite you in the but because of carma theres good and then theres bad. If you say something bad about someone it could effect your future because one day that person could be your boss. That person could be friends with your boss and tell them and get you fierd.I also think that you could say something really stupid in front of someone important and that could give them a bad feeling about you or give your self a bad reputation. This could also effect you in a good way like saying please and thank you infront of your girlfriends parents and that would tell them that you are a kind and polite and have good maners. Another good way is if you say something good about others. Yeah the biggest one is saying something bad to someone that is important to your future. The best thing you can do is try to be a good person to everyone even if they dont desearve it they might just have a hard family life or some junk like that going on so just put on a smile and try to pass it on to someoneelse and this would make the world a better place. ReplyDeleteThere are many meaning to this quote. Now everybody knows that you have to think before you speak. Because it can hurt someone and you don't know what they can be going through. Like many people don't say what they are going through and if you say something it just makes the time even worst. Another reason is because if you make a joke people get mad even though you were just joking. People always take it offensive to them and then they don't talk to you or they just do want nothing to do with you anymore, just because that one think that you should have said even though it was a joke or not. And you don't know the consequences that you may face if you say something. If you have nothing to say don't say it at all and just walk away. You shouldn't be in nobody's business unless if it has to be involved with you. One thing that it can relate was when I was mad at my brother. I didn't talk to him for about 3 day. Then the day I said sorry he didn't really forgive me. I told him that I said sorry but I guess o had a lesson that I lear. And that lesson was to be nice for once and nothing will happen like that

I believe the quote means you should speak inspirational to others and make sure you're words have meaning.You can make a impact on someone else life debating on whether your words are negative and can make someone feel broken and make them feel down bout themselves. If you make someone feel broken and alone then that can lead them down a road where they fall down and fail,because your words make them feel like they arent anything and they cant achieve what they want to because they beieve that what you call you them.They believe they are nothing. Personally, someone once said words such as: "Failure" "Nothin" "Worthless". These words stuck with me my whole life because I believe all the people that called me the words. I didnt think I would get a decent job or even go to college. These words make me want to quit and give up. All of us have dreams and can make them happen through hard work and persistence. Keep ignoring those people.

Because we are all different we need to try to be very clear with our messages and remember that words can do damage as well. It is sometimes better to wait and speak, rather than say something you will not be able to take back. I also think it is important to be as positive as possible with messages, as most people do not respond well to negativity. My martial arts instructor is very careful when he speaks and always inspires us to work hard and do the right thing in all aspects of life. Because of his messages and the way he gives them, our school usually wins championships and there is a lot of respect among the students for each other. His messages are always about how we can succeed as people by making good choices. He also expects that we will work for success, rather than cheat to achieve. I think that great leaders inspire others with positive, non-violent messages and those are the ones that change the world for the better.

If you think before you say or do something, you wont say the wrong things, which will help you succeed. Many people have said the wrong thing a little to much and haven’t succeeded. But the people who think before speaking have succeeded and got a good job. And it isn’t just succeeding when you need a job and other stuff, it will help you succeed throughout high school and college. ReplyDeleteA time in my life was when I went out with my friends and they wanted to ding dong ditch peoples houses. At first I wanted to but then I realized I could get in trouble. Some people call the cops which if the cops find you, you will get yelled at. So I told my friends that and they agreed with me so we choose not to. Another time was when we wanted to play manhunt at like 12 pm. It was a bad idea because a lot of weird people go out at that time. And if they would have saw us who knows what would have happened.

I think that this quote means to becareful when you speak because if you speak when you speak the wrong thing somebody might interpert it the wrong way. For example, lets say you say to somebody you are a failure. This could make them feel negative about their life and make them not want to do anything or succeed.

If you compliments somebody that will make them feel good about themselves. If your mean to them that may ruin their entire day. This is where we say if you dont have anything nice to say just dont say it at all. Why would u want to ruin a persons day like that? Does it make you feel good? One time somebody told me that I was extremely bad runner. They said I was slow and couldn't beat them. I responded by saying "Lets see about that" and I beat them actually very easily. I shut the person up and proved them wrong. This is how I changed the situation. The person wanted to laugh and make fun of me but that person sadly failed. In the end, he was the one getting laughed at.

This is a great quote, one of my favorites to be honest. When he says think before you speak, I think he means think twice before you say something. When he says your words and influence will plant the seed of failure or success in the mind of another, I think that means if you say something stupid and hurtful to another person, that it will stick with you, you gotta be careful of what you say because you can have a great friendship with someone and one stupid comment can ruin it all. I can relate to this because I used to joke around with people and one person took it seriously and hates me.
