What this quote means to me is that if you see peace or love in your mind or in your wish make it come true. If you think its for the better in the world make it come true, however if you want the change in the world to be destruction people are going to go against you if more people want peace, love or positivity. Why make the world a worst place when you can make it better. No one that I know would rather live in a bad world. There’s no reason to it. It can relate to our society, because there are famous person out there who sings about peace or for peace. People want peace, good will, and happiness. So why set your mind to something bad when you’re the one who is going to be living in those conditions also. A singer name Kevin Ross sings about bringing harmony and peace to this world. He is trying to spread the word for peace, because not everyone understands that peace may bring happiness, instead of destruction and wreckage into people’s lives. The word peace means to live in a world where nothing bothers you and there’s no one going to war. Peace brings something that nobody has. So if you have that wish in your head about to change the world in what you see then do it. Don’t bring negativity to the world. This quote also means to me that if you see something other than peace like enjoyment or pleasure try to make the best of it, because no everyone can enjoy and laugh at the moments that you have. Everyone probably wishes something to change in this world. Maybe for people to stop smoking cigarettes or maybe for people not to drink and drive. Like all these little things turn into big things. Like people don’t think that is important, but it is when someone loses their love ones in a car crash. So be the change you wish to see in the world.

    1. I completely agree with you Eli. The world needs to make little changes to start to make big changes. I think if we all come together that we will make a big change in the world. All we need to do is make smaller changes to start to make a big change in the world. Therefore I completely agree with you.

  2. "Be the change you wish to see in the world" - Ghandi I love this quote . its what I try to follow everyday . because we are the future and it's important for us teenagers to act wisely and spread what we know for the better. The world is yet so evil , violent and so corrupted when we could all be one nation and love one another , help one another , not be so greedy but yet there's people out there who have yet to change and change their lives.... People who are gunna spend their entire lives in prison all because of one mistake or sometimes people can just be at the wrong place and the wrong time and get in trouble for anothers actions that's another reason why its so important to think before you act. I watched a fight occor today between two of my friends who were friends . they fought for no reason at all . it was a joke until it got serious . it's ridiculous how many fights happen in schools in a year . but what ghandi really meamt by this quote is actually be the change in the world you want to see . if you want the world to be a better place , make it a better place and Its not just our ways of behavior . its also our ways in how we treat our earth . by not recycling and using our resources wisely...its just going to make it hard for us in the future... If we don't take care of what we have now.... Were gunna wish we did later and realize and regret.. 😔😔 its amazing how we all are and not knowing what is yet to come If we don't clean up our acts now and start maturing !! We all need to open our eyes. It has a huge affect on my life because its important and it bothers me that not only one person can change the world . we need more people that's good !! I love the animal association PETA . they save many animals world wide and hopefully soon most people on earth would consider being Vegan !!! And think about killing our animals / friends ! Their important on earth as well ! Another habit we need to change is to stop being greedy over land because were cutting down all of the trees of what helps us breath . and gives us life !! And gives our world passion and decoration . I can't stress it enough . we need to wake up !!!!!!_ be the changes create the change and support the change 💪

  3. "Be the change you wish to be in the world" is a quote from Mohandas Ghandi. What I think he means when he says this is that the change will not happen unless you start the change. The world is so bad now and a lot adults and elderly people believe that teens are a large part of that evil. Which is why I remain in scouts because it keeps me away from all the stuff teens are normally blamed for like graffiti and destruction of property. But scouts also helps me make a change. Like this year my troop did scouting for food and collected enough donations to help feed 350 families. we need to start helping one another and stop war and greed because if we stop war and greed we won’t need to feed the hungry because there will be no hungry kids in Africa will live full lives and not die of malaria because there would be pro bono doctors to aid them. if we forget religion race wealth the world can be a great place People have to change if they want change then they have to remain changed or the world goes back to square one.
One show Ghandi‘s quote relates to is Law and Order it shows Detective Benson doing her job in the special victim unit. She sees a world without rape, abuse, or domestic violence so she puts those people in prison. A literary example would be our summer reading The Help Skeeter Minnie and Abilene write a book about how awfully the African American workers were treated in there town so it could be seen for the worse and changed for the better

  4. This quote was said by the great Ghandi “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.”This quote is basically telling me to be the thing I would like to change and change it. This quote can mean anything to anyone for that matter but it means that to me. This is a quote that can happen in real life. There was a brave person named Rosa Parks and she was an older black woman living in 1995. She had wanted change for the segregation of black people and she wasn't basically doing anything wrong. She was going somewhere and she had taken the bus when the bus driver asked her to move her seat which was in the colored section on the bus for a white man. Rosa had refused to move because she had been apart of the NAACP. She had done this as like a silent rebellion against the white people. After that day Rosa Parks was known for a long time and Martin Luther King Jr. had even given the "I have a dream" speech. This quote looked like it has affected this lady's motion to not get up and move.
I really haven't used this quote before in my life but I am sure I did but I just don't remember doing so. In my best representation of what this quote means to me is like when you want to change something in like politics then when you get up to the high point in all of this you can change want you wanted to but you also can change little things. Even if all you do is change like picking up some litter off of the floor or ground you don't know the effect you have on the environment maybe you are saving an animals life. There are so many things you can do in your community to help the world be a better place to live in.

    1. I think your examples of Gandhi's quote are amazing exp. martin Luther king Jr. going after his goal and accomplishing it. however I disagree with you never applying the quote to your life but that is your own opinion. but anyway I think your answer is very good even though I kind of disagree with some parts.

  5. The quote, “ Be the change you wish to see in the world," is a very inspirational quote. I like this quote because it makes me think that i could be the reason why someone or the world changes. I think its awesome that if I am the start to the change in the world i could change my self in the real world also. If i want something to change in the world or i would like to see something to change in the world i can't wait untill someone decides to do that change. i have to be the one that has to make that change i want it to happen so once i make the change other people will help me in making that change. I was watching a video on youtube and it was called making the homeless smile. I thought that what these guys were doing was pretty cool and I wish i could do something like this. They bought a bunch of food water and clothes and gave either food and water or food and shirt or water and shirt to the homeless person. It made the homeless happy which made me happy to see that there are people out there trying to prevent this from happening. It was awesome to see that someone took their day to dedicate it to help the homeless out. I help people out as much as I can. I do service projects to help different organization groups flourish. It makes them proud and happy that I did something that helps them out. It is one less project that the organization has to do. Therefore, i like this quote because it relates to my life in many different ways. I like helping out people and making them smile which make me smile. I think that everyone should put in there hand to help this world become a bigger success. It only takes one person to make a big change in the world it helps to have a lot but it is not necessary.

    1. i agree with you that it is amazing how we can make a change in the world. Also how people help one another by giving them necessity they need that may change their world just by a thing of water or something as simple as a new shirty that they couldn't afford.

  6. “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” this quote once said by Gandhi. This quote can mean and represent many meanings. In my opinion I think Gandhi’s quote means that if you want a change in something or someone. For example say if u want a change in the rise of pollution and waste you have to set the example (be a leader) for the people u are surrounded by as if you were a teacher. It can be related to our society and everyday things people do because in our society we have more obstacles to face then ever and to be honest most of us are too lazy to even want a change. For example with the recent violent attacks around the world especially the one in Paris almost two days ago. I’m not saying people aren’t helping make a change but if we all wake up and realize what happening we can take action and become a leader to follow behind just like Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani teen shot by Taliban, who is now one of the “leaders” of the fight against the Taliban. And at the end of the day that’s what Gandhi did all he wanted was a change and he went after it and achieved his goal. That is what I think Gandhi’s quote represents and how it can apply in every day life.
Like I said before I think Gandhi’s quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” means to become an example of a goal or achievement that you have in mind. Another quote that I think can go along with Gandhi’s quote is “treat people the way you want to be treated,” I say this because like Gandhi’s quote if you want something take action and lead by example so more and more people do it. A example that I can think of that can correlate with Gandhi’s quote is was when I was 10 and had to come up with science project and at the time I was big into saving the environment so I made all these extra project that took like 100x extra work and time but was worth it in my opinion because I opened a lot of my fellow students eyes to how easy and beneficial it was to make a change that can positively affect our environment. That is what I think and how it can reply to my life.

  7. Ghandi “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” To me this quote means don’t just sit around and do nothing if you want something to change because no one’s going to do it for you. When we want to change something a lot of times we think how can one person change the world. Then we do what we normally do like every other day and forget about the thing we know needs to be changed. But we need to realize that sometimes one person can change a lot. It’s not always a good thing but sometimes it is. We all have different beliefs but that should never stop you from making a change. For example, Martin Luther King JR. was one of many people who believe that blacks should have the same rights. He didn’t care that some people went against colored people having the same rights because in his heart he knew that something had to be done in order for there to be justice. He was one man who made a huge change in our lives because he didn’t sit around and do nothing he saw a change was needed and he went out and made that change happen. Everyone see things that they don’t like so why not do something about it like Ghandi says because to me this is really good advice. We can’t just ignore what we don’t like in this world cause it will never go away unless we do something. It doesn’t even have to be something global. In school if you see someone in school getting bullied say something, maybe to a teacher or maybe even stick up for the kid. Change starts small but it can go a long way and maybe it won’t just make you feel etter but others too. When Ghandi say this he doesn’t mean go out and change the world make it peaceful for everyone, he means if something is bothering you change it and that’s exactly what I’m going to start doing.

    1. This is a good answer to this qoute. When you use the examples of Martin Luther matches this qoute. He saw a dream and he did it. He knew that change was needed.

  8. “Be the change in the world you wish to see” was said by the wise Ghandi. I think this quote is very true. If you think the world should be a certain way it all stars with you. You have to start the change before everyone else comes in and helps. This quote relates a lot to society. Many people want to see the world change but don’t do anything about it they just think and throw around ideas without acting. The ones who actually take action on just small things are the ones who actually will change the world for the better even if that’s not their intention. To change the world the way you wish it was like you don’t have to do anything big, every small thing contributes to making this world better.
This quote means to me that this generation is the future of our world and we have to learn to change things for the better. If we wish to see the world better we have to start making small changes to shape the world we wish to see in the future. What we do now doesn’t change as we get older it stays with us, no matter what we do. This quote by ghandi relates to my life in multiple ways. I wish to see the world as a nicer place. Not like nice plants or buildings and houses. I want to see people being nicer to one another and be able to enjoy life and not be miserable. Even though I don’t have control over peoples thoughts and actions I can start with myself. I can just start off by saying thank you more and being more grateful for the things I have and not having to always get, get, get and move on to the next thing so fast. Being kind to others will help them maybe feel better about themselves and, complementing others as well could change someone’s day for the better. Just by simple things we could all make the world better and the way we wish it was.

  9. Ghandi, a peaceful protestor in India while it was under British rule, once said "Be the change you wish to see in the world." This quote means that if something bothers you, you should do something about it besides just complaining, although sometimes complaining can still be helpful because you might inspire someone else to do something to make a difference. If you see an injustice in the world, you should take action, instead of just standing idly by. That is what Ghandi is saying. This applies to society because there are many flaws in the world, and there always will be, but in a way this is good because without problems in life, we would get bored. That does not mean you should not try to change the way things are, though. Change is a good thing, and it is necessary for society to prosper. Also, even everyday things people do can make a difference, because then other people will do things to try and make a difference, and this creates a snowball effect.
An example of this is all of the ideological reformations in the 1960's. People started questioning things like racism and such, and this caused other people to ask questions, and society overall started to change.

  10. The wise quote that was once stated by Ghandi is "Be the change you wish to see in the world". To me this quote is very inspirational, intelligent and just all out a great confidence booster. I think it means that if there's something in the world you don't personally enjoy or like yourself, that you need to be the one to change it. If you want something in this world altered or changed that you need to be the one to change it. Don't expect a problem you have to always be fixed by someone other than you in this world.
If you're not happy with how something is ran, you need to adjust it to your liking. Modifying it to the way you think or want something to run is a decision you have to make in your life. Other people may agree with your choice and assist you along the way of altering it to your preference. If it's something you want changed badly that society wont change, it's up to you as a person to do it yourself. Don't let other people tell you otherwise and just do what you think is the right choice to make.
This happened to me once because me and my brother's kept getting in trouble for the same thing but we had different punishments. I found their punishments very unbalanced because they favored my brother. For example, if we got into a fight or scuffle our parents would send us to our rooms and I would usually be sent up for an hour and him for between 20 or 30 minutes. I didn't agree with this so I told them and we came up with a reasonable solution to fix the problem we had. We each got punished equally and fair depending on what trouble we had caused. If you speak up and demand for change in the world or your life, you need to go and make the change yourself and do it how you would like it to be.

  11. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Once said by Gandhi.this quote means that if you want something to change you have to do it yourself. No one is going to do it for you, people in America are lazy, if you want something done you gotta do it your self. Something that relates to this is Martin Luther king jr was an inspiring man, he stuck up for black rights. African Americans were segregated back in the day, but he stuck up for it and changed it a lot. Sadly he got shot but he gave the famous I had a dream speech. This quote relates to me because I had a bad shot in wrestling last year and I wanted to change it and I did during the offseason and now I have a good double leg. Also, another way is that I was 70 pounds flat last year and I found out I had to be 85 for varsity, so I ate and gained muscle weight. I did it and now wrestle varsity. Mathis quote basically means get off your behind and change the world. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Said by Gandhi, that's what that quote means and how it relates to me and the world..
