*What does this quote mean to you? How does it relate to
situations or obstacles you have faced in your own life? Give an example from a
movie, book or history that could relate to this quote and explain how it does.
"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." 🙈 To me this quote means that happiness is never loss and it can be found even when it seems to dark to get out of the deep situation your in... But one person must remember to turn on the light ( meaning give the sticky situation a little boost) dont make it worse... Try to always think positive... And think that you'll get through whatever it may be. 🙏 like I remember when my family didn't want to play hide and seek in the dark because they said it would be no fun and you wouldn't be able to see where anyone is but I made it fun because I just dimmed the lights . it kind of realates to the quote because I found a way to add light to the situation. Or the time when I was almost homeless I prayed to god and tryed to think positive everyday... And before you knew it we were moved into a beautiful home. 😌 its times in life that can be so challenging that automatically make you think negative but you just have to learn how to pull through it . see pass it and then be on your way . I've never seen harry potter movies or read any books because of my religion but I like this quote . :)

DeleteIn this Harry Potter movie Albus Dumbledore had said the wisest of all the quotes in the world. Dumbledore is an old wise wizard that had been training and had help Harry on his quest. I believe the quote "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." Was said by this wise wizard. Dumbledore had meant by this was that happiness could be there and even if it's the saddest moment of time someone could be happy even though it's dark and dreary. The second half of the quote means that if someone is bright enough they will make more ideas of how to stay happy in a time of darkness. This quote is very inspiring and informational. This quote has effected my life because people could be so dark and negative but I am a very, very happy and upbeat about everything.
ReplyDeleteThis quote has effected many different and cool movies that I know of and these movies are amazing. The movie this quote reminds me of is Lucy because she always finds her way out of anything. This movie is about a girl who gets taken and she gets drugs put in her and its a whole bag of drugs and it leaks into her system and it lets her use more of her brain than other people. Lucy was just a normal girl the had fallen into a horrible situation and she didn't want any of the stuff that happened to her she just wanted a normal life. At the end of the movie she just figured out how to use all of her brain and she turns into what we breathe in the more which is air and she is also anything and everything. This movie was very strange and unpredictable but it was action full and it was so exciting and crazy that everything was fitting together. This quote works so perfectly with this movie because it had been in the theme of the movie and this lady goes through life like this and she is getting revenge for all the things that these people did to her.

What this quote means to me is even in the worst time happiness is there. Happiness can never go away, and that’s a good thing. Without happiness you will be depress and sad most of the time. When something wrong happens in your life and you think that you will never be happy again. There’s always family and friends to look to. No one should ever be sad. A life situation could be that someone who you trust lies to and then you get mad. Happiness is there for that. If someone who passes away in your family and you go into a deep depression and you feel like there’s nothing else that can do anything to cheer you up. Turn to family because they always bring happiness. And if they don’t then turn to something or someone who does cheer you up. Life wasn’t meant for it to be sad. Yes, there are times when something bad happens, but that’s what’s happiness is about. Once you find happiness you can see that the little things that upset, you don’t anymore. Why be sad and upset when you can be happy. Romeo and Juliet is a good example, because when Romeo got exile. Juliet still loves Romeo and is sad that he’s not with her. Some people don’t understand that people can’t always make someone happy. People cry when someone breaks up with them. Happiness is the solution to the problem. There’s a lot more examples that happiness can help with. Thing’s in this world always has something that makes them mad. There’s tons of happiness everywhere.
Nice quote Elijah. I say this because I mentioned many of the same things as you and can see where you are coming from. However, I disagree with u when u say no one should be sad because I think it is health to be sad ,not all the time of course, because that one of the emotions we feel. And ii kinda disagree with you when say there is always family to turn to. I say this because sometime your family can a banded you. But never the less great quote and nice job.

I believe that it means that one can always find happiness during dark times in life. If something grim or horrible has occurred, there is always a bright side to it. Most people don't always look for something good or happy when something depressing has just dawned upon them. It's a natural reaction to just be sad about something bad that impacted you.
ReplyDeleteEvents like a death, losing something, a bad grade, being embarrassed and etc. Events can make us sad or depressed at the worst of times and can impact our lives or people around us immensely. People don't look for happy moments during a horrible time of grief and misery. The thing is that you need to be the one to make it happier and not just blind yourself with the present and remember happier or times that you love.
During darkness you need to light the way to not make it saddening. For example, if someone dies it's not good to think of the person's death but, to look into your mind and view all of the happy times you spent with that person. Thinking of the better times you enjoyed with that person will distract your mind from thinking about their death and light up your mood. Taking your mind off of it is very helpful to your mood and self-esteem and can even make you feel better about yourself.
This one time, my dog was hit by a car and this was an extremely depressing time for me because it was my first pet death I seen or had. I was sad when I heard about it because I liked playing with my dog and seeing it when I woke up in the morning. The news stirred up my emotions and made me angry and sad at the same time. I thought about all the times we played together and the fun I had with my dog and it made me feel better. I think reminding yourself about better times will make you feel better than just keeping your mind occupied on the same depressing fact.
I agree with you Adam and I think that you made a valid point. In your blog you stated how events in our lives can use this quote. This quote can affect our lives because it tells us to have light and happiness in dark situations. Your blog has explained the quote quite nicely. I do agree with this to a certain extent. There is a positive and a negative side to everything, and personally I prefer to analyze both, not just one. I am both an optimist and a pessimist.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good quote that relates to real life a lot. For instance, some people who have contracted fatal illnesses are still positive in spite of that, although there are still people who are more cynical. I think it's interesting how different obstacles effect different people in different ways. It shows how complex people are.

And the quote "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light,” is no different. This quote was said by Albas Dumbledore, a fictional charter in the fictional story called Harry Potter, during the fest. And even though he is not a real person his quote is still very important and impacting. I believe that it means you can achieve happiness even during the darkest of times. For example at a funeral even though you are morning a death there is still a slight bit of happens because you are remerging all the good times u had if that person. I think this quote is like being optimistic. I say this because I think if u can find a light in a total dark room or look at a glass half full instead of half empty you achieved happiness. I can relate to this because many times in my life I had bin optimistic during very dark times. One example of a dark time was when I was diagnosed with diabetes. I say this because at first I was sad, mad and confused, however I had a great role model to guide me into being happy and accepting what I have because I now know many people can have it worse and I am very grateful it isn’t that bad. I also think many movies can relate to this quote. The one that come first in mind was Unbroken. Unbroken is about a young man defying the Olympics, world war 2, over months of being stranded on a life raft and then being held as a prisoner In a Japanese consternation camp ,just to name a few, with positive thought which lead to him fighting for his survival. This applies to the quote because like I said before having an optimistic attitude can move mountains in the sense that you are limitless in the possibility and goals you want to accomplish. That is how I interpreted and related to the quote.

Some situations can be worse than others and might seem as if there is nothing positive in the outcome of things. Sometimes the good in a bad situation isn’t always noticeable or helps you out right away. The situation that might seem bad right now might help you in the future because you have experienced it already. The good in that is that you know how to cope with I because you have done it once or twice before. In many situations some people forget to look at the bright side or “turn on the lights to find the happiness in the situation” people who do that aren’t very positive. This quote relates to many situations in history. DR. Martin Luther king jr. stood up for his independence as a colored man. Many people didn’t agree with him and didn’t like what he was doing. All the negativity people showed didn’t stop him he kept fighting. Unfortunately martin Luther king jr. was killed on night on his balcony. Even thought it was horrible that he was shot and killed him being dead brought people together to show that we are all equal. Even if our skin color isn’t the same we all live and die we are not different from one another. Because of martin Luther people got along better and stopped segregation. Some people didn’t like it but it was for the good and now we live in an equal and mixed community because he died for what he believed in.

This quote means you can be happy no matter what happens, even in the worse times. What this means to me is to keep your head up because you can be happy when you want no matter what happens. Man, you really love your Harry potter ms bocchino, to be honest I've seen every one and I don't remember a single thing from them. This quote relates to me and many ways, my dad and my uncle always seem to cheer me up and make me laugh in the worse times, like a funeral. Another time I can relate is, last week I got pinned first period against pinelands, but I was happy for the team on getting that win, and also for my teammates wrestling really good. There's a real inspiring person who's now in Cali but after I lost a couple matches being pinned of coarse, he would tell me how he was in my foot steps but he really cheered me up, we'll his names Nick Santo. We'll I really understand this quote and It means you can be happy no matter what happens. ".what i think this qoute means to me is that even if your not happy and your sad you just have to find your happiness by thinking of things that make you happy. its always better to be happier than sad. if someone is making you sad dont listen to them. you just got to remeber the happy things and what makes you happy. dont let someones words put you down. if they do put you down always get back up and be happy because remembe that your on this earth for a reason. always be happy and when your sad think of things that make you happy so you can be happy again. this qoute relates to my life because when im sad or when im down i think just things that make me smile and things that make me happy. i aint always happy and i aint always sad but if i am sad i learn that i am a person and that i am strong and independent . if someone tries to hurt me with words i just brush the words right off my shoulder and i keep moving forward. when i am sad i think of my happiest memories and i also think of my family. i think of my family member being happy and me seeing my family is happy it makes me happy.this qoute also relates to the notebook. the notebook is a movie. the couple had problems together but in the end they were happy because they both still loved each other. even at their darkiest moments they still loved each other because they didnt care what they had to say to one another they cared that at the end of the dark moment they were still in love and they were still happy together. what im trying to get at is that dont be sad be happy. when life makes you sad just remember to yourself that no matter how sad you are just think of things that make you happy. it works when im sad. try it, it will probably make you feel better.
