I believe this quote means to act on your words, and try to better the world. To me it also means to be apart of your community and better it, by helping the elderly, educating the youth. If everyone contributed to our community than no one would fail at their goals we could all come together and help one another. You could also make huge advancements in science, math, and medicine. With all these advancements our community would be even further advanced and more jobs would be made. To me this should be the motto of our modern day communities and counties. A similar patriotic quote is from JFK, " Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country." These two quotes are based on bettering the world around you.

To me this quote says get out there and help don't be the one that expects help without giving any. One example I can think of is Ghandi, this may be a bad example but he does exactly what he said, he peacefully protested against the british colonization of India. He never fought and won against them.In "The Help," Miss Skeeter helped and fought against the segregation and discrimination of blacks. She fought against slavery when that was something she was raised to belief was right and the was it was supposed to be. She thought how the slaves feel and not money she was selfless and made a difference. One last example, in "The Hunger Games" Katniss fought back against the capital and everything she was raised to believe was the way of doing things. She was brave and courageous and fought for her beliefs and how she felt even if it meant putting her self in the face of danger. Against all odds she prevailed because she never gave up and she achieved her goals because she was the change she wanted to see in the world.

  2. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.”, once spoken by Ghandi. Seeing something bad in the world, and wanting to change it is something we come past everyday. I know everyday there's something I see that I wish i could change. I think when Ghandi spoke those words “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” He was thinking the same thing as we all thought he just spoke words. Which I think what he means is that if there is something in the world you wish to be changed, you can be the change. For example, bullying happens every single day. Their so many people that want to change that but don't do anything about it. Until Ghandi made this quote people started to realize that they can be the change you wish to see. You can change something, for example you can be the person who stops bullying. In everyday experiences we want to change something constantly every day we see things we wish to change. But what if we are the change, what if we do something to change it. A example from my life can be when my brother didn't want to go to college because he didn't feel he would be making a change in the world. So instead he went into the Marines, and I feel he wants to make a change in the world. Thats the way he feels it could happen, he’s being the change he wishes to be in the world. Which is a big step he was taking a big step for deciding whether to fight for our country. I think he make a great choice choosing it because he’s trying to make a change, and doing something he’s wanted to do for his whole life. Which I feel can inspire me, or my family to want to be the change in the world. Hopefully by wanting to see a change, people can start being the change. People have been for years those are the people that stop bullying, or even something as little as littering.

  3. I think the quote “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” by Ghandi means that if you want to change something in this world you have to change it yourself. If something bothers you or annoys you you have to try and change it because there is a high chance that no one else will change it. An example of these is that you do not like a new rule the State of New Jersey made. The rule is that all after school sports and clubs can no longer happen in any school that is located in the state of New Jersey. You don't like this plan and you want to change this new rule. So you decide to start a petition online that would allow all schools in the state of New Jersey to have after school sports and clubs. That petition you started gets thousands of signatures and the state of New Jersey decides to stop the law. By creating that online petition you were able to make a change maybe not in the world but definitely in the state of New jersey. I don't think this quote is based on a change that only affects you or your family I think this quote to me at least is about a change that impacts a lot of people or even the whole world. A example of someone or something changing the whole world is a company called Apple. Not only was Apple able to basically create the first "real computer" that was able to support the internet they were also able to create a music device that was small and could hold hundreds of songs Apple also was able to create the first ever smart phone. That smart phone that is most likely in your very pocket was all happened because of apple. Even the Tablet was created by Apple. Without Apple there may not be the internet [or at least the way we know it.] That smartphone Ipod and tablet you and most the world would not exist if it was not for this company called Apple. That is an example of how one company changed the world the way they wished to see it. I can relate this quote to my life because my parents always told me too always watch my actions because the world will look at you by the way you act. So because of that I try to change my actions and the actions of my friends when their doing something wrong. I know this isn't going to change the world but having good actions is something I would like to see more of in this world.

    1. I agree with your blog about what Ghandi meant when he said “ Be the Change you wish to see in the world”, Nick because I also agree that in order to change the world you are going to have to change something in yourself. As I believe that now that we are older, if someone is bothering you, you are the only person that can change it. Another good example you wrote was that it does not have to be a big change like the whole world but, it just could be a change in New Jersey. Nelson Mandela is another Great example of chancing the world for South Africa just like Apple products are. I also agree the other people look t each other’s behavior all the time. Another thing I believe you should do is to try to keep your friends out of trouble unfortunately, some friends get into trouble with bullying or drugs or even commit crimes. It is great to think about how your positive actions can influence others and try ,to make the world better.

    4. Nice! I agree that Ghandi's meaning was quite literal with this one. If you wish to see change then don't wait for it to happen and get up and help change it. If you can change something for the better ten you should.

  4. I think it means that you must put your mind to what you want to become and you will achieve anything. I think that it says to make a change dont be a bye standard just do it even if it seams dumb but dumb is another word for worth it and that if you do it it will make you feel like a million dollars and like your the king of the world because you achieved something that seamed challenging and that a goal you seat was made. Being the change you want is when you dont wait and hope its going to happen you make it happen and you would do anything to make it happen and being determind is what sets winners from the partisapaters like when your in a sport and everyone gets a trophy for partisipation no that trophy is garbadge if you want to change something you have to be determend and drivine to be the best and make the world the best place to be. To be the change you have to really want it you have to need it and live for it you have to be it. The world dosent listen to the partisapaters it lisens to the winners the over achivers the people who would kill for what there striding for they would end there own life for it, Like me i would take a bullet for an animal just to make a point in why animals are important and why we need to start recyceling more and stop littering and conserve our resorces we have on sweet mother earth and how we need to stop polluting the earth and expandig so mutch that animals loose there homes and there existence.Change starts with you not with someone telling you to or makeing you you have to want it.

    1. Change is a word that really means a new begining a rebirth so you can do good and make others do good to. You have to be that inspiration that everyone looks up to who wishes they were you have to be the one person they like most. You need to be kind to people to get progress because its like a dog you have to give them a treat to get them to do a trick or they wont do it at all. Progress is very important to change because if you cant get any were how will you change the world and make it the plaqce of your dreams.

  5. "Be the change you wish to see the world" By GahandI. What this means to me is you have to act how u want everything to be. If you are bad then the world will be bad. If you are good then the world is good. I also think it means if you want something to happen you have to make it. You can't just sit there and wait for it to happen. For example I wanted to be moved up in my math class but I could not get moved up by sitting there. So I went to guidance and asked them to moved me up. I gave some reasons and ideas why I should be moved up. So this is what I think Gahandi me when he said "Be the change you wish to see the world".

  6. Ghandi , said “Be the change you want to see in the world.” My interpretation of this quote is that change starts with our own individual choices and behaviors. Through these actions and choices we communicate a message of change for others to see. There are a couple of ways that you can “be the change.” Sometimes if another person’s views concern you, you can choose to get a deeper understanding of why they fell the way they do or have change a discussion where each person listens to the other. Sometimes you can “agree to disagree” on an issue and still walk away with respect. Another way to “be the change” is through your words, actions, and attitude. Standing up for someone who is bullied, or not being quick to join a physical fight are two ways to show respect and friendship. It is also important to say what you believe in, even if it is not the “cool” or popular way. I think that if you speak things that are truthful for you, others around you may find the courage to speak up as wall. There is a lot of unrest in our country right now concerning the treatment of young black males by police. One side refuses to believe or listen to the other and this has resulted in very deep divisions across races and other groups. As I watch this take place, it is the people who are peacefully protesting that are “the change,” and not those that are quick to violence. This is the same path that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Ghandi , and Nelson Mandela took to create real and lasting change. In my own life, I have formed some strong values that I try to live by. I’ve seen alcohol destroy the lives of families and so I choose to avoid drinking. I also try not to curse or use vulgar language because I think it sounds terrible and confuses the messages we send. It is also important to me to try and do the right thing, especially where it involves other people. I’d like to try and improve my own life and the lives of those around me. Those are the changes I would like to see In the world and I do give a lot of thought to my deli. Behavior to make sure they line up.

  7. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Ghandi. This quote means that if you want to change something or have a different out come then you have to do something about it. If you want something to change you cant just sit there and do nothing you have to get up try hard ad do what you need to do in order to make that change happen. He is saying that no ones going to make changes for you, you have to do them yourself and work have your hard. You have the power to change it and you have to make it happen. If you want to make a difference you have to work at it and have to do it yourself. You may have people behind to help but its not going to be done the way you want it unless you do most of the work. So if you want change you have to make it happen.
One way this relates to real life is when you want to lose weight. I say this because if you want to lose weight you cant sit one the couch ad eat a bag of potato chips and say your going to lose weight. You have to eat healthy food and exercise you have to make that change even if it’s hard if you want it that bad you will make it happen. Another example is if you want to run a business. You cant just go boom and perfectness you have to work and get a trusting staff then build you business up that takes time a effort. This isn’t a fairy tail were everything magically goes the way you want it to and make your dreams come true. Your fairy godmother can’t help you because everyday people make the changes in the world. Your choice is are you going to work to make change or not try at all. Mine is to work for my goals and make a change.

  8. A great man that goes by the name of Ghandi once said a popular quote in today’s modern life that stated ,“ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This quote has many meanings. What I think he was trying to get across by saying these famous words are that if you want a change you cannot just sit and wait and wait and wait, the change will never happen. What he is saying is that if you want to see a change in something you have to go out and change it your self and not just wait for people to do it for you because that will never happen. This relates to our society because so many kids and adults want everything handed to them and that’s not how it works. If you want something to happen or change you have to go do it yourself and most people in today’s society do not do that. They are lazy and will never do anything for a change. This quote means may things to me. The main thing it means is that ghandi wanted to see people encouraged to go out and make the changes they want to happen in the world happen. A place I can relate this quote to is Stuart Scott. He recently died a couple of days agofrom cancer after fighting it for several years. He changed the perspective of peoples lives all over the world from his speech at the espy’s. stuart scott wanted to make a change in this world for people who have cancer. He wanted them people with cancer to understand that you can beat cancer even if it kills you, and you can do that by the way you live. He wanted people with cancer to not sit around and say they are going to die and waste there life. he wants them to go out and live there life like they don’t have cancer like he did. Also he wants them to enjoy every second of thier life and not be depressed that they have cancer. God bless

This quote can also be a inspiration to people just like how you said it. I agree about most of the stuff u said in this paragraph see u in school le sean james.

  9. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Ghandi. To me this quote means that you have to be who you want to be and change what you want to change. Every day we see people change for the good in this world and a lot of people get jealous on how good people are doing. But no one ever tries to do it. Everyone always sits down and waits for change to come to them. That's called being lazy and not caring about anything. If you want to do something try it don't wait for other people to do it for you. In todays society its happened everyday all over the world. The main problem is being lazy. People expect to have their parents do everything for them and that's what sucks about todays generation. How do you expect to get your goals and achievements done when your parents and your teachers do all the work. You have to change yourself for the good and a good start is doing things for yourself. This happens to me like everyday. Im so used to having my mom do stuff for me and im still trying to stop that. If I want to change I have to start doing things on my own and stop relying on my mom for things.

    1. i agree with you. I also said that you have to get up and change what you want to change. And you shouldnt sit down and wait for someone else to change it.We shouldnt rely on our moms for things we should do it our selves.

  10. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Ghandi. What i think this quote means is that if you think things should change you have to do it yourself. Alot of people just sit back and complain about things but never do anything to change it. They have to get up and do something to change it. They are just lazy and dont want to do anything else but complain. If we try to change it we can do it then it will make the world a better place. Then we can all be happy and not complain everday. Everyone gets mad over this but when it comes to them to fix what they want they say that its fine and it can stay the same instead of getting up and changing what they want to change. They just back down and act like its fine but the next day they start to complain about the same thing over and over again.
What this quote means to me is that you have to be encouraged to do something if your upset over it. You cant be upset about one thing and complain then not want to do anything to fix it. Derek Jeter is someone that changed what he wanted. Growing up his family was really poor. So he wanted to play baseball but his family didnt have the money for him to play. So he started to do small jobs to get money and once he got enough he was able to play and he did it all by himself. He didnt rely on other people to help him he only relyied on hhimself.

  11. Ghandi was a wise man that was very in touch with himself and wished to create a peaceful world where everyone was true to themselves. He once said,"Be the change you want to see in e world." When he said this he meant that if you observe something wrong, something you want to change be that change. Instead of complaining about it or waiting for someone else to change it go out there and change it yourself. People today are so use to saying ,"It just happened, what can I do about it. I can't do anything". When they don't see that one person can make a difference and change the world. We have all the power we give ourselves. We have to pus ourselves and do everything we can to do what we what. One person can inspire many.Every day people are slowly changing the world and we don't even see it. Everyday a artist creates a new portrait inspiring others and creating what they think is beautiful. Everyday a musician creates a harmony that soothes other peoples souls and changes their life's. Everyday there are also people that are trying to spread peace by setting up a complex network of supporting companies that are like a net ready to catch and help those who aren't in the best situation.

Personally, I have always had big dreams. I want to go to school in New York than move to California to spread my music and art, then help those who were like me struggling to reach their dreams. I want to live in a world where most people end accomplishing what they only thought they can do at nigjt in their dreams. That's why I'm working 2 jobs to get emancipated and doing street art in New York on the weekend to get money to help me get where I want to be and then I can maybe one day change the world..

I believe this quote means that if you want stuff to change don't mess it up by your actions. So like if you want something to change to stand up and fight what you want to be changed. Or if you want something to change do it. It could be related to people because there's protestors who try to stand up for what they like or want or just some people trying to get something they want they try to change the world or try to change anything they want for example if some one wants to be president they try a say that they will change stuff and try to change the world. this quote means little to me cause im not a adult yet so im not gunna try to change the world that much but sometimes I will. An example in my life was when I was in middle school and got introuble a lot. Some films and examples are the movie 42 cause Jackie robinson changed sports and gave inspiration to people and kids around the world. I have seen it in my house and movies

  13. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." - Ghandi.I believe this quote means basically to do what you want. If you want something to change make sure your the one that is changing it. If nobody is going to change something you might as well do it yourself. Changing something could be very easy or hard as well. This all depends on the situation. A bigger issue requires you to put more effort to change something. This effects are society with bullying. If you see somebody getting bullied dont just watch it happend. Instead, go up to the bully and stand up for the person who is getting bullied and talk some sense into them. People bully every single day so this is a perfect example of what you can do to stop this. To me this quote means you can change anything you want as long as you try. When I used to be chunky in elementary school I was unhappy with how I looked. So I decided to change the way I eat and work out more. Now I am no longer chubby and I still work out. This taught me as long as you try, anything can be changed extremley easy. Anyobdy can do it, and if they dont its their fault. Sitting playing video games all day wont help at all, so dont even try that.

  14. “ Be the change you wish to see in the world.” - Ghandi. Is a quote that means a lot of things first off it means if you do not like something you will have to react and then you will need to plan out how you want it to be, then you will need to change it you may need help from family members or friends but afterward all of your and there hardwork and effort will pay off, something as simple as recycling can change the world for the better and you could be the cause by heling out and even just one simple simple thing thing like like recycling yourself, being a change in the world requires many many things first of all it requires dedication, second of all it requires hard work and a lot of effort to put into what ever you are going to change in the world that we love in at the time to help for the better is the best thing you could possibly do, third of all you will always ALWAYS need to to smart about things and get help from whoever you need and want and someone that you trust and will always stick by you no matter how hard things may or will get in the word a time where I changed something I did not like was my grade when I was failing and I did that by having the dedication to play football and stopped being lazy and did something

  15. Ghandi once said "Be the change you wish to see in the world". I think this is a very powerful quote. Everyone has something they wish to see done differently in the world. Whether it's something small and easy to accomplish. Or it could be something very difficult and will take time. But no matter what, everyone has something they wish to see changed. So if you don't like something, you have to be the one to take a stand and say that you're unhappy with the way things are. No one can read your mind and if you don't stick up for what's right, you cant just wait until someone else does something about it. You have to be the one to say something if it truly makes you that unhappy. It's all up to you and what you decide to say about it. Because if you don't do something about it, who will?

  16. I think what the quote means that instead of standing by and waiting for things to change get up make the change yourself. this can be related to our everyday life and society like when we here on the news about global warming many people simply sit by and just hope that someone does something but some get up and try to help out by recycling, using less energy, using alternative sources of energy or protest for actions to be taken in order to stop global warming. What this quote means to me that people need to to step up and make changes instead of sitting by and waiting for them to happen. An example of this in my favorite film "Inside Llewyn Davis where he is a struggling musician hoping for a big break in his career but he doesn't just sit back and wait for someone to walk up to him and offer him a record deal he goes and plays small gigs and travels out to Chicago to perform in front of a record producer. He goes out and gives it his all in order to make a change in HIS life.

  17. "Be the change you wish to see in the world" -Ghandi.. this quote means a lot it has a lot of meanings. For example one meaning could be like stand out don't be the same. Think about the things you say and the action you make. If you don't like something in this world you should stand up for what you believe in and what you want to happen. Think about it the more hard work that you do the more it pays off. To make a change your going to need a lot of effort. You should always be careful for what you do. Its going to take a lot of time and dedication to change something. You have to be full-hearted and give it one hundred percent. You cant just half ass it you have to give it your all. Once you start something you cant just stop half way in. this quote means a lot if you see something and you want to try and change it you have to make sure that you change first. For example if you think smoking weed is bad and you want to change it you cant go smoke weed to relief your stress. If you want to change something you have to make sure you're not being a hypocrite. This is just a few things of what I think this quote means and what it means to me.
