*What does this quote mean to you? How does it relate to
situations or obstacles you have faced in your own life? Give an example from a
movie, book or history that could relate to this quote and explain how it does.
The quote "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only remembers to turn on the light." is very meaningful. When I was upset that I didn't get this specific item I wanted for Christmas, I didn't know what to do. I didn't tell my parents that I was upset but in my head I was. Than later I realized I should be greatly for what I have. Many people in the world have nothing compared to what I have. This made me realized although something bad happened it was also something good. Next I thanked my parents for all the gifts. This happened a few years ago. An example would be Marting Luther kings death. Even though he died, he still did many amazing things for our world. Racism was getting close to stopping and it was all because of him. This quote relates because he died but he did something good for all of us. This is what the quote "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of time, if one only remembers to turn on the light."

DeleteI think this means that you need to stay posotive even threw the toughest of times. Staying posetive will help you so mutch because it makes you feel so mutch better then the person with a negative attitude because with a negative attetude you will drag your self down and the people around you people dont like a person who is negative all the time because it makes them feel bad if they wanted to make them selves feel bad they would of just sat in there room all day thinking negative thoughts and listening t depressing songs and watching sad videos. What im saying is that posetivity is key to get through life suprises and all. posetivity is like a cure to depression. even animals and friends can help they could help fill your life with happiness and posetivity like the animals they can fill your life with joy because like a dog they will always love you unconditionally even threw tough times.Posetivity can fill your head with happiness and good thoughts it can even help give you better judgement and a better personality. Happiness is great happiness is what everyone desires so why not be happy the key to being happy is posativity and surrounding your selves with great friends that will always be there for you and family because family should always be there and will always love you no madder what.

What I think that this quote means is that you must stay positive all the time. You must think that it will always get better. Even if you think it is the worst its ever been you must always think of the good times and the good things to come. You must keep your head up because it will make you become a better person. You will be a better person in the heart. You shouldn't dwell over things you should get up and try to make it better. This relates to me because when I didn't make a baseball team I was really upset. I chose to get up and practice until I got better. Then I tried out again so I made it and I was really happy that I didn't just sit around and be upset about it.
ReplyDeleteThis also relates to Michael Jordan he didn't make the basketball team as a freshman and sophomore. He went and practiced really hard. Then he became better and then he made the basketball team. He then went to college then the pros. He is the best basketball player of all time. He changed the way basketball is played to this day.

For example you can be sooo sad but when that one person that makes you happy comes around you wont be sad anymore. So when the quote says "if only one remebers to turn on the light" One has to turn on the light wich means someone has the ability to make you hppy when your sad. This can relate to me alot. " By Albus Dumbledore means to me that if times are bad and maybe even your life is bad or have something bad going on you can still be happy. As long as someone (Maybe even yourself) helps you be happy. An example is if your having a bad week and someone helps you feel happy even though the stuff that was making you upset is till going on you just found happiness in a dark time and someone helped "turn the light on." This quote can relate to my life because when ever I was down or my family was having a bad time my friends were always there for me and they made me happy when times were bad. One time was when my family was having a big fight and my friend let me come over so I didn't have to listen to them fight. This quote can relate to History almost all history because during any war either it be the Civil War, Korean War, World war one or two there was always some one trying to make something good out of the horrible time where when someone was depressed or in fear this person was always able or tried to flip a light switch to make things seem okay and try to bring happiness back for a little while. If those type of people who want to try to make bad situations good or try to see the better side of a bad situation didn't exist the world would probably a much different place. There would be a lot more fear sadness and anger in the world. There would also be a lot more fights and maybe even more wars if those people didn't exist. Finally if all the people who could not see a good side of a bad situation ruled the world most countries would have probably bombed each other to death by now and you may not be sitting down right now reading this essay.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Nick on your blog. Even during the worst times you can find someone good or opportunity. And yes, thing can always get worse. Another good point you made was that even in the darkest times you are not alone and people will support you. It is nice a friend bails you out of an uncomfortable situation at home, and it is also nice to be able to be that friends who can help you out I return. It is true that many of our soldiers who are still at war are facing the toughest time in their lives and many of those returning home will need support to move past the physical and mental horrors they have faced. These soldiers need us to move past those dark and tough times an be able to adjust and go in new directions. Otherwise we can get stuck in a dark place and miss the joy life has to offer.

This quote to me means that sometimes it has to be the work situations possible to actually see some light. Actually, seeing something good will come out of it. Bad situations are usually viewed as terrible things in our lives. Only the people that look towards something better coming out of it. Will get the answer of not all bad situations have unhappy endings. Situations that put us or others around us in jeopardy, or hard times can always get better. Realizing what kid of hardship you are in, makes you struggle at times. But the ones that's use that struggle to see something better show true character in that person. A example from my life was when my best friend got her heart broken she didn't know what she was gonna do. She was in pieces and I looked her in the eye and told her that she's one more heart break away from finding the true person who's meant for her. I was taking something dark and sad and making it better (seeing the light) by telling her she's closer to find her one true love. A example from the Romeo and Juliet, they live each other but don't know how they are gonna make it work... Their families have a feud together and aren't suppose to love each other. But they see the light and realize that they live one another and make it work. They work together to create something terrible, and make it a lot better.
ReplyDelete“In the Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban “, Albus Dumbledore said “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times ,if one only remembers to turn on the light”, I think this quote by Dumbledore means bad things always happen in life but there are always good things that balance things out. When things go bad it is important to try to think of the opportunity that can come out of the challenge. For example, if you think you are going to fail a test, try to think “I will do my best,’ or I will get a good grade.” Another example of this is Super storm Sandy. This was a terrible time for many of us, and yet we all pulled together and helped each other. When one person was having a hard time others helped, and everyone took support and gave some. The “light ´was that we saw our strength and realized how much we loved our “Jersey Shore.” A final example of finding the light was after the 9/11 attacks. This was an awful event in our country’s history and we grieved loss of all of those innocent people. But we also Untied as citizens and decided that we would not allow terrorists ‘to rob us of our freedom and our way of life. As individuals, difficult times are never desired and yet most people will say that they would not skip these days as it is the challenges that make us strong and define who we are.

" To me this means that even when the going gets rough you just have to try and look up and see the good. Sometimes it hard to stay positive or to see the light shining down on you. When your friends or family tell you everything's gonna be alright or to just keep trying, you can either decide to look up or look down. The choice is yours you can choose to make your life better or you can choose to look down all the time and be a pessimist. Its like walking into a a dark room with no lights on. It's depressing, lonely, and sad, but you either keep it that way or you can flip the switch on. You can brighten everything around you if you decide to stay positive and just try to keep moving forward. As in the, Meet the Robinsons would say, " Just keep moving forward." No matter how many times he failed or looked down he kept moving forward. I can relate this to a time in my life when i didn't know whether i could turn the lights on or not. I would come home and feel picked on, that everything I did was wrong, or i would go to school and id feel the same way from everyone around me. I decided that it was time for me to look up, turn the light on, and stick up for myself. When i started to look up it seemed as if everything was slowly getting better. Obviously there still are some problems, but that's life. Life is full of obstacles, but you have to try your best to get past them and make the best out of it even if your situation really is bad. This quote has a lot of meaning. to me I think it means that the times where its rough or the times where you feel like you can don't it no more you have to look at the positive side because the rough times are only there to bring you down. everything will be alright so just keep your head up o matter what. you are stronger thatn what negativity you are facing. keeping your head up will get you in a better position. the negativity times are like a dark room lonely scary you don't know what else is coming in life but till then you have to be positive and don't let anything bother you. its life. and bad times will happen then come the good things. but if you let the bad things happen and tear you down you will not be happy. in orderfor you to be happy push thenegitivity will go away. this relates to my life because there are times where I feel down. ut I couldn't let anything bother me o more because there is no point for me to stay down. so I chose to be happy and kepp my head up no mater what. life is full of obstacle. but those obstcles are only there for you to take them on and getbthrough them and be successful. no matter what just keep your head up because everything will be okay.

To me, this quote means that even when times get tough in our lives, we have to try our best to focus on the positive things in life. It may not always be easy, but we have to keep our minds focusing on what's good in our lives instead of what's bad. If all we do is focus on what's wrong in our lives' and worry about all the troubles we have to face, then the bad thoughts will just consume all of our thoughts and there will be nothing happy left to think about. For example, if you're trying out for a sport and you're not doing so well at first, you can't let that be the reason to bring you down. At first, everyone is bad. No one is an all-star player on their first day. You have to keep telling yourself that you'll get better with practice. Practice makes perfect but if all you think about is how bad you are at the sport, then your thoughts will eventually become reality. Sometimes, you have to turn on the light and tell yourself that you will get better or that you will succeed. Because no one can live a healthy life constantly thinking bad things about themselves. That's what I think this quote means to me, because no one can see too well with all the lights shut off; you have to remember to turn on the lights.

I like this quote because it reminds me of when my parents got divorced, I felt that my life was falling apart and I was depressed. All I wanted was a normal family, but I realized that I couldn't have that. I always talked to my dog, Tugger, and for awhile I got better Sadly in the middle of the divorce my dog died and I was lost again. My grades suffered and I was didn't care. This forced me to open up to my friends and tell them. Up until then no one knew about it, not even my teachers. While talking to my friends and seeing how much they care, I started to look on the bright side. After a short while I was back on track and my grades came back up and I got a social life again. This was the worst time in my life and with a positive attitude I turned it around and made everything better. I can relate to this quote very well and it means a lot to me. It was able to take my feelings and turn them into words. I perfectly translates my feelings. If everyone lived with this quote in mind then no one would have more then a bad day. The world is filled with wonder and beauty it only takes the right eye to see it and you will always find happiness. I feel that this quote can save lives. It can end depression and prevent suicide. I will always keep this quote in mind especially on my darkest days.

What I think this qoute means is that as if it is like a metaphor, for example: When you are the opposite of happy, which is sad, it is like you're in the darkness, so what you should try to do is be happy because it would be as if you are brightening the mood of things and turning on the "lights" which would mean that you are pushing away the sad feelings and then turning on the lights, (becoming happy) and making you're life a lot more enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteSome examples could be that if you are depressed try to work hrough the sadness and try to become happy. you could do this by looking at the positives and negatives of youre life and trying to resolve the negatives so you only have he positives to look at and thus making youre life a whole lot better.

Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” - Martin Luther King, Jr. To me this quote means that only the good can remove the bad.. And only love can drive out hate meaning two wrongs don't make a right. You can't make a change by doing something bad and you cant come out of the dark hole unless you think positive and actually try to find the light... Just like When Adolf Hitler murdering millions of Jews because them being the problem only made the situation worse. That was so not the right thing to do. He didn't make the world better by killing innocent people..Similarly, the quote tells us that hate cannot drive hate from your heart or the hearts of others. The only thing which can do that, according to the quote, is love. While the analogy breaks down a little with hate not being exactly equal to the absence of love, the premise is spot on.

Sometimes you can be dragged into the darkness also.. From being around so much negative energy. You can resolve all the negatives from your life by being very Optimistic.and worry about finding the light in life. And to spread it like forest fire. There's always going to be racism and hatred in the world. But you have to choose to be different and if you would like to be the hate or the love in this world. ' there's options and consequences. People don't realize that good follows and is contagious.. Believe it or not everyone wants to be like someone. ' we all Follow each other. There's no Leaders. ' because people , Our Line Just Continues. There's no One Being served first . 😰 Its not like were all at Starbucks and the line ends somwhere. Our generation continues... Forever... And we choose how it begins and Ends...
