situations or obstacles you have faced in your own life? Give an example from a

In *Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban* Albus Dumbledore says during the feast*"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. ". well lets just start this off , this is a great movie and brings me alot happiness . well there always a good side too something and i think that what he is saying . in harry potter he lost his mom& dad and had too go threw alot . in the movies he had lots of obstacles . but at the end of all em . he got married fell in love and had kids. he found friends that would always be by his side . He had family even when he dsidnt have a family he had people by his side no matter what . he was strong and good. he found the llight even when it was dark
ReplyDeleteI agree, no matter how much happry had to go through he still managed to find the brighter side of things in the end. He managed to keep his friends close and at somepoint he got married and had kids of his own. He had found that light that showed him happiness and gave him a chance to enjoy life.

".What this quote means to me is that its very true because if you are having a bad day you think that you cant be happy but you can be in the darkest of times. You just have to believe in yourslef and think of things that make your life happy and what make you happy. I know that when im sad i always think that im not going to be happy but at the end of the day im always happy. Everyone has those days where there is nothing good happening and you're having the worst day of your life but you know the next day you're going to end up smiling. This could relate to me from something i have faced in my life because when i was dating this guy we broke up and i thought i was never going to be happy again. I totally forgot how to smile. All my friends were telling me that its gonna be okay and son i got over it. I was upset still but i smiled and got on with my life. An example from a movie would be from Cyberbully. She was cyberbullied and she wanted to kill herself but at the end of the movie she was happy again. Nothing will make you sad forever and its probably not worth being sad over. id ont think that being sad for a long time will really do anything in life. Everybody has a dark day but when you're happy your friends are also happy too! I have never watched Harry Potter so i don't know what happens in the movie but this is what i think. This is what i think this quote means and one two examples from my life that i though i couldnt find happiness and one from a movie that i have watched.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Megan, when it comes to bad days it is you that decides if you want it to be a good day or a terrible day. If think on the bright side, the worst days can become one of the best days if you keep your head held high and stay positive. You just need to believe and have faith in yourself that a bad day can be changed to a good day. Even if the bad day gets the best of me, there is always tomorrow which is a fresh new start and when i wake up i always wake up with joy (except on mondays). Just don't let the bad things bother you and always stay positive.
DeleteI also agree with you Megan. A lot of people can be depressed from breakups and often forget about happiness, and even if we do have a bad day we should just turn on the light to make us happy again.

To me this quote means you have to be positive all of the time. If you are always negative you will never be positive. You do not need a light on to be happy. People will always be negative. You just have to say a joke or even just smile and it will make a better vibe. If somebody is being annoying and complaining you have to compliment them or do something to make it happier. If you are bored and unhappy there are so many things you could do to get cheered up. You could go outside, listen to a good song you like, see a movie, hang out with friends, throw a party, go to a party, read a book, go on a run, go to the gym, eat, make a movie, go camping, go to the beach, go sky diving, go bungee jumping, travel, make a band, go for a walk, eat, ride a bike, learn something you don’t know how to do, ride a skateboard, go to sleep and dream of something positive. There is s super lot of awesome fun things you can do to be positive. Now you have such an awesome list of not boring things to do. You could also cook, read a book, write a book, be a poet, conquer a fear, play soccer, play basketball, play any sport you want, go for a hike, and take photos of cool stuff. Now you have no excuses to be bored because I gave you a big list of things to do.

What he meant by this quote was that no matter how bad things could be, you can find happiness everyone can. You just need to look on the bright side of things because the more you think negative the more you will be depressed and think about the bad things. In the past, I have taken a couple of homework assignments that I might not understand half of the time and I would end up having a bad grade for not understanding the work in class. As sad as this maybe, you still have the opportunity to know what the work is and understand it better by staying after school and ask the teachers to help you with the work so it is less of a struggle. I remember one time I failed a quiz in my math class and I supposed that there was no way it could be fixed to make the grade better. I knew that my parents were not going to be happy and I knew that I to do something to make my grade better. So I went up to the teacher to ask if I can retake the test so I can get a better grade then I previously did. Luckily, she said that I can retake it but I need to stay after school so the test can be taken so I can get a better grade. After retaking the test I went from a 69 to an 88 which was a big jump that helped my grade in the class tremendously. Good things can happen but you just need to keep your head held high and stay in a positive mood so you can feel happy. Even if things for you aren't going the best, you can make them better if you try to stay positive and always think on the bright side.

" To me this means that even when the going gets rough you just have to try and look up and see the good. Sometimes it hard to stay positive or to see the light shining down on you. When your friends or family tell you everything's gonna be alright or to just keep trying, you can either decide to look up or look down. The choice is yours you can choose to make your life better or you can choose to look down all the time and be a pessimist. Its like walking into a a dark room with no lights on. It's depressing, lonely, and sad, but you either keep it that way or you can flip the switch on. You can brighten everything around you if you decide to stay positive and just try to keep moving forward. As in the, Meet the Robinsons would say, " Just keep moving forward." No matter how many times he failed or looked down he kept moving forward. I can relate this to a time in my life when i didn't know whether i could turn the lights on or not. I would come home and feel picked on, that everything I did was wrong, or i would go to school and id feel the same way from everyone around me. I decided that it was time for me to look up, turn the light on, and stick up for myself. When i started to look up it seemed as if everything was slowly getting better. Obviously there still are some problems, but that's life. Life is full of obstacles, but you have to try your best to get past them and make the best out of it even if your situation really is bad.

"-Albus Dumbledore I feel that this quote means that that no matter what there is light at the end of the tunnel. There will always be someone or something to catch even if it doesn't look like it there is. Everyone has what they think is rock bottom but you were once at the top so you can always get there again. For example if a certain student is academy excelling but has dropped all his or her electives but has fallen into a deep depression due to that is what made them happy in life is not a necessity his or her parents say. Something some people don't understand is that he or she doesn't go to school for friends , classes , experience and definitely not that school lunch the reason he or she goes is the electives thats what makes them happy that is the light at the end of their tunnel. That is the high point of the day without that light they just might fall into a deeper and wider whole were they cant even remember what the light looks like. Just imagine how some of you would feel without your phone. To some of you it is an extension of your arm. Now his or her parents are saying that there elective ( lets say music ) is not a good idea or that its not a reliable career and that you can't do it. In this case his or her parents are the poison or darkness. My darkness is that i'm to scared to be who i really due to the fact that its not normal. Anyhow, but when you find that one thing or place or thing or whatever you never want to stop because that feeling is just indescribable it almost feel like you're numb or that you're unstoppable. Or that your higher than mount Everest. Also, the only way you can get back to light is if you even want to go back to the light. DO YOU?

This could relate to people who are really depressed or upset about losing someone very close to them. They could be really upset and the way they could turn the light on in their life is to maybe remember good times they had with that person or even another friend could try and cheer them up. An example of this quote in my life is when my cat Smokey had to be put down. I had no idea he was put down until my dad came home with an empty pet carrier. The rest of the week I was pretending to be happy but deep inside of me I was really depressed and upset, and some of my closest friends found out and they helped me get over it by reminding me of happy things we all did together. In that situation my friends helped me turn on the light to find my happiness again. Another example of this quote is when my parents had to put my grandmom in a elderly care center because her Alzteimerz was becoming really bad. It was really hard on my mom and I to see her leave our home because she would always make us happy. I think it really affected my mom and it made her depressed because my grandma has lived with us for about 10 years and I remember everyone in my family turning on the light for her by telling funny stories of the crazy things we all did together. If some people are always upsetand they keep being that way instead of trying to be happy and turn on the light in their life, they will always be like that.

What do i think that this quote means well i think that it means that no matter how bad things get, you can find happiness as long as you look and embrace it. If you choose not to embrace the happiness in dark times you will never find happiness. You will never be able to look for the brighter side of the very bad things in life. Wont ever cheer up from anything. How can i relate this to a real life event that has happened to me. Well when my grandfather passed we were all very upset but we looked at the brighter side we made the best out of everything that we could, we wouldnt mope around or act depressed. We actually did things. I can relate this to the movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. When ron leaves and its just harry and Hermione. They found the happiness and danced around the tent for a while to brighten up the mood. They decided to find the brighter side of everything that came in there way in that movie. It also works with the way that Dumbledore gave ron that invention that takes away light and when need be it puts light into areas.that is what this quote means to me and a story it can relate to.

ReplyDeleteIn Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Dumbledore says “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” When Dumbledore says this quote, he is giving a speech about dark creatures that can harm people that need to be harmed. If people get in these creatures way they will most likely be harmed. So he says this to tell everyone that they might be scary and the things they are going through might be hard but you can always find good in bad. I think that is what the quote means, you can always find good out of a bad situation. For example, one time i was having a really bad week and it just felt like everything was getting worse. But then i realized i shouldn't be feeling this way because it could be worse. My problems weren't as bad as some peoples are. So i just got up and forgot about all the stuff.
I can relate this quote to the movie The Fault in our Stars, by Hazel and Augustus both had a deadly form of cancer. But that didn't stop them from loving each other. Their love was the light in their darkest times. Both of them knew that they were dying. And still they both loved each other through everything they were going through. Usually when people are dying with cancer, one of the worse diseases ever, people usually just stop their lives before they actually die. They know that they aren't going to last so some people just give up. But hazel and Augustus didnt, they were strong with each other through everything. In conclusion, when Dumbledore says “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” he means that in bad times you can always find something good. Even if you think its the worse thing ever, it could always be fixed by just putting a little light on.

DeleteIn harry potter and the prisoner of Azkaban, Albus Dumbledore stated during the feast “happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” This quote could mean many things to different people but in my opinion this quote means that even in sad or bad times that you are struggling, you can still be happy you just have to make the most out of the situation you are in. in life people will make you mad a angry but that does not mean you can not still be happy. Sometimes we all go through things that make us really angry or sad but you have to adjust to it and make the most of what you have and just be happy with it. Being mad with someone or something will not change it or make anything better. Being happy can make any situation better. For example if a member of your family dies, you will be sad for sometime but eventually you have to be happy again because people dyeing is just a part of life and nature, it happens to everyone. Eventually you have to over come your anger and just be happy because being angry will not change the out come of any thing for the best if any thing it would be for the worst.

What this quote means to me is that even when something bad happens people can still be happy if they can just take there mind off of it. There's been a lot of times when quote revolves around me. I remember one time it was me and my sister and we were on our computers and my dad wanted us to look for a place to move to. This quote relates to it because I don't want to leave my friends and memory behind. But we manage to find houses within the area so I can still see my friends and go to the same school. Not only that but this can relate to a movie because In Transformers 3 towards the end the autobots were put on a spaceship to go back on space. They thought it was the end. To me, this quote means that if you're going through a hard time then you need to remember to " turn the light on" this means to make a happy remark. It doesn't physically mean turn a light on it just means add some brightness into the day. If someone really said or you're going through a hard time you would want someone to brighten up your day. This relates to times or situations in my life. It relates because my friends have been sad many times. Usually when someone's sad you need to brighten up their day maybe with a funny joke or surprise. When my friend was sad about something I brighten up, or turned the light on by making them happy.

I think that means there's evil in everybody and nice in everybody. Everyone has those days where there is nothing good happening and you're having the worst day of your life then out of no where you can find twenty bucks in the middle of the sidewalk.I remember one time I failed a quiz in my science class but then she gave us a curve so I didn't fail. I was happy for the rest of the day.People will always be positive and negative. Sometimes they don't even know what's going on. Just imagine how some of you would feel without your phone. " Therefore let me start of explaining this quote on how it means to me, by started of on how ‘’ happiness can be found even in the darkest of times’’. And what this means to me is that even if there are troubles going on and it might seem like everything is turning upside down, there is still a way out of this darkness to make it better and that is happiness. Anyway happiness is the way to make it better, but it is the decision of the living soul to chose it or not . And thats what the second statement ( if one only remembers to turn on the light) means to me. Moving along this quote relates to a obstacle in my life by how I handle my problems in my life . I always think of problems as a hard, frustrating and darkness thing. I will never feel to happy when problems will occur or will see to find it as well. But then later on I had realize why is it worth it for me to feel anger, frustration, and overwhelmed by this problems, because all I’m created is more darkness than there already is. So whenever problems occur I will always tell myself that everything is going to be alright and this are just things that happen in life. And also that there are far more worst things that are happening in this world than the problems I’m facing and I try to find the light as well. This book relates to the quote because there was this girl name Mary who saw nothing but darkness and during the lost of her parents she felt nothing but sorrow , but later on she made friends with this boy name Dickon who showed her happiness and the beauty of the world, but it was Marys choice to listen or not and she did chose happiness, even though she had her problems and had lost both of her parents as well.
