"We are all equally wise, and equally foolish." -Albert Einstein
*What do you think this quote means? What does it mean to
you personally?
*Give an example from your own life when you have seen
yourself or someone else experience this.
Albert Einstein , a great human bein g once said “we are equally wise, and equally foolish.” This quote can mean so many things, in my opinion it has to do with your life experiences. I think Albert Einstein quote means that you or me might be wise in one subject or something , but others might be more knowledgeable on something else that we aren’t, there for both of you or me have the same amount of knowledge and foolishness as someone else. No one else is more wise or more foolish than someone else. Personally, this quote means to me that even though you might know or have more ideas of something than someone else but they also might have more ideas and might know more then you in a nother subject or area. For example I know a lot about baseball but you might not have a clue aout anything in the sport of baseball, but you might know a lot about tennis, I have no clue what goes on in tennis or anything about that sport. I am wise in baseball and you are wis in tennis and I am foolish in tennis and you are foolish in baseball. We share the same amount of foolishness and wise ness even though it is in 2 different sports. For example my friend is very very knowledgeable in cars and I know nothing about them. I am very knowledgeable in baseball and he knows nothing about it. I would be foolish if anyone asked me about any cars but if you asked him he would know out of the top of his head. If you asked him anything about baseball, he would not know a single thing but if you asked me anything about baseball I would be able to tell you anything. Over all I think this quote means a lot and can mean different things, it depends on your personal and life experiences. Some people are very wise in some subjects and very foolish in others where other people can be foolish with the subjects you are wise in and you can be foolish in a subject they are wise in. I think this quote is true, every one is equally wise and everyone is equally foolish. I am as foolish and wise as you and you are as foolish and wise to me.
ReplyDeletegood job this week colin! you wrote about the quote well and I see that you understood it. I agree with everything you said. and I like how you talked about baseball you made it fit well with the quote. good job with week again and I cant wait to read more
DeleteGreat job on explaining the quote this week. You did really well at comparing it to something that you love. I definitely agree with the things that you said. Keep up the great work Colin!
Delete"We are all equally wise, and equally foolish." -Albert Einstein. As we all know Albert Einstein was a very smart man. In my opinion when he said this I believe he meant that everyone Is equally as smart as everyone else, but at the same time we all make dumb mistakes. Let's face it nobody's perfect! I mean you may think you are but you're really not, and neither am I. Just because you get good grades doesn't mean that you're smarter then the person sitting next to you who gets c's and d's. You just might try harder in school then that person, but you have the same skill sets. To me personally though it means that not everyone's gonna grow up to be a genius but that doesn't mean you're stupid. Also, no one is going to make the right decisions in life when everything starts to crumble.
ReplyDeleteA time in my life when this quote could relate to me was in softball last season. I was the catcher on my team and the game was tied 6-6. There were 2 outs on the other team and the last batter of the game was coming up to bat. This girl was the #1 hitter on their team and always hit it far into the outfield. The first pitch rolls out of the pitchers hand and WHAM she hits it and it goes flying into the outfield. So all the outfielders go runner to the ball in a scramble so the girl doesn't make it to home base and we lose. See that was the wise decision to do. One of my friends picks up the ball and looks straight at me for me to catch it and tag the runner out. Well she threw it wildly and It ended up not even close to where I was standing. That was foolish of her because she decided to throw it like a mad woman instead of throwing a controlled throw. Their number one player ended up scoring and we lost the game-sadly. But, just because she made a poor decision doesn't mean she is not as equally intelligent as the other girls on my team, or equally as foolish. I'm sure next time she will take her time with the throw and do it right.
No one on my team was mad at her for costing us the game because we all make mistakes. I'm not going to go around saying"oh I am so much better then her and she's so dumb for not throwing it right!!" Because you never know the person that you might be criticizing. They may be having a bad day and her head wasn't in the game, but that doesn't mean we are smarter then her, and that's what I feel Albert Einstien meant by this quote.
Good job Carlie!! You did a great job. Explanation is very good!! Keep it up.
Delete“God, we are all equally wise, and equally foolish.”This quote was written by famous man Albert Einstein. This quote demonstrates how we are all equal. Also “God created mankind. Smith and Wesson made them equal.” In the Bible, it says people are created by God, and God made us all the same. In the movie Freedom Writers the teacher enlightened the students that we are equal and we all have freedom. There should not be racism between person and person. We have our own stories.Equality is the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. In the movie Freedom Writers most of students in room 203 are non-white people. There are Mexicans, Blacks, and Asian Americans. Therefore, those students would have a lot of opportunities to watch their parents were discriminated by white people while growing up. Moreover, they would get hurt by white people easily, and have trauma of them. However, students get to overcome the fear of racial discrimination by one’s dedication. “The change should be start from the class” (Freedom Writers). Teacher Mrs. Gruwell tells the students to write their own stories in journal because she thought everyone has their own stories. Students start to write journals based on their feelings and thoughts. Soon after students changed gradually by write diary and “line game” which Mrs. G did in class. Mrs. Gruwell inculcated students that we all have fear, happiness, weakness, and strength by their writing. Basically it means we are all same, equal. As I mentioned above, God made us equally, we are all equally wise, and equally foolish. Therefore, each individual has a right to the enjoyment of life and deserves happiness. For example, in 2013, I came to United States, and It was my first time to both visit and study abroad. I had a hard time to adapt to the new setting in America, specially the fluently speaking in English However, what if I was constantly tormented, taunted and pushed around by american kids and teachers that just because I am indian? I probably would not want to go to school and stay here. I could not enjoy my life in America. That is wrong. We are all deserve joyful life with happiness because we are created equally by God.So just adapting the situation and learning new things I was great ahead it wasn't hard for me.This quote has a great meaning to it!!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog this week! I like how you related it to the bible and freedom writers. I think by doing that you made your point very clear. I think you are an awesome writer!!! Good job and keep up the great work
DeleteThis quote seems to mean that in the grand scheme of things, all humans have the same amount of ability to choose wise or foolish actions. Regardless of whether something is considered wise or foolish, it is important not to judge others and more importantly to help and forgive yourself and those who have acted foolish and be thankful for the times you have been helped with a wise decision, whether your own or someone else’s. The perception of what is wise or what is foolish is also different with each situation. That means in someone’s eyes all of us are wise or foolish at some time in our lives. Life is about balance and what Einstein may mean is that we are equally balanced between wise and foolish but that balance changes in life.
ReplyDeleteI wondered however what the word “equally” wise or foolish could mean. Some people in my life seem more wise or foolish than others. Then I realized that what we see each day is all part of a whole and perhaps the quote means that we all have the equal amount of opportunity to be wise or foolish. I also think that, Albert Einstein is reminding us that we are part of a vast universe, and that it is not our part to judge others, but to accept and forgive. Since we are all equal over a period of time, Einstein wants us to be kind to ourselves when we are foolish and not overly brag about our wise choices use that to put down others and most importantly learn with every experience. It’s important to keep the balance in life.
I can see an example of this is our family. All the children in the family have made some wise decisions and some foolish ones. After experiencing the positive or negative consequences, my sisters and I move on and continue knowing we are loved and secure. Probably because our parents are also equally wise and foolish since they were children and their parents also. I’ve also seen this with friends. It’s always important to have one person with a wise decision when the others may have foolish ones. But the “wise” person in the circle of friends will be different because every situation is different.
ReplyDelete"We are all equally wise, and equally foolish,” was said by Albert Einstein. I think this quote means that everyone is just equal. People can say they are way smarter than someone but really it is only because they would try harder than others to get to where they want to be. The person that says they are smarter may be smart but they just try than most kids. The other person that thinks they are dumb really isn’t. They just aren’t putting the time to get where they are supposed to be. I believe no one is stupid you just cannot be lazy. When you are lazy you gave up and will just set yourself up to look dumb. And when it says foolish I think it means that no matter how wise you can be you will always do something stupid. People say they are perfect and smarter than anyone else but really everyone knows that’s not true. At one point in everyone’s life they made a mistake. It isn’t fair for the people they think they are smarter than the other people to make fun of them. They can be just as smart as them if they tried the way the other people did. This quote can be important in many ways. People need to learn that everyone is the same it is just the way you want to be. Meaning if you want to try or if you want to sit there and do nothing because you are too lazy. When I read this quote I thought about my math class. Im not saying im smarter than the other people but I put more effort into the work than others. They say they are dumb but they aren’t. If they actually took the time to listen to what the teacher said then they wouldn’t think they are dumb. They would sit there and not pay attention and when it comes to the classwork they have no idea what is doing on. But when the teacher asks them about a problem they get it. Once they pay attention and show they care about their grade then they wouldn’t look less smart than anyone else. Everyone in that class is equal we can be wise and we can be foolish. It doesn’t matter what they do but try.
good job on this weeks blog! I think your explanation on the meaning of this quote is great. I totally agree with you. I also liked your example on math class. Cant wait to read next weeks!
DeleteAlbert Einstein, a great man once said “We are all equally wise, and equally foolish.” To me this quote can mean many things but some people might think it means something else. In my opinion I think he means that everyone is equal at some point. Even if we make dumb mistakes, we are equally because nobody is perfect. Some people think that their life is perfect and nothing can ruin it, well that is so not true. When we think we are perfect that’s being foolish because there is no such thing as one person is “perfect.” Personally, this means that not everyone is going to be the same, everyone is their own indivual. I can relate this quote to my life in many ways but the #1 way is in field hockey. I don’t think many people know about field hockey, but if they do know about it they just think it’s some sport you play will a ball and a stick. That’s not true because there are many sports that involve a stick and a ball such as, baseball, tennis, etc. Field hockey takes a lot of control and hand eye coordination; you don’t just hit the ball into the net. It takes patience, like this one girl on my team, nit was during a game that we were down by 1 goal and the coach told us we needed to win in order to go to states. She started freaking out because she had the ball and there was ten seconds left on the clock. She rushed her shot and over hit the ball making it come flying off the pole on the side of the cage. Luckily, one of our teammates was there to have a quick stick and pop the ball up into the net. I brought this topic up because even know the girl got scared and rushed her shot didn’t make her foolish, everyone makes mistakes and everyone gets scared. It didn’t make her different from everyone on the team. Nobody was mad at her, everyone was excited because we were going to states. The coach wasn’t even mad because what she did was really an assist. Anyway, this quote can mean many things to different people but to me it meant , everyone is still equal either way no matter what happens.
ReplyDeleteLillian, I really enjoyed reading your blog this week. I love the way you explained field hockey and said that not many people know about it. I also liked how you said that even though the girl made a mistake, no one was mad at her. Great job this week an keep up the great work! :)
DeleteA very wise, intelligent man once said, "we are all equally wise, and equally foolish." This quote was said by the great physicist named Albert Einstein. This quote could mean many different things when you ask the people around. Personally, I believe that this quote means that everyone is equal but just have their own way of showing the things that they can do. Everyone has their own way of doing things. In my opinion, everyone has the ability to do the same thing as the person next to them, but they only really do what they think their mind tells them that they can do. Also, everyone around you is “foolish”, some people just show their foolishness more than other people do. No one is perfect and everyone has flaws and everyone makes their own mistakes.
ReplyDeleteThis quote could relate my to my life in many ways. First, it can relate to tests and quizzes, mainly in math classes. While taking tests and quizzes during class, mostly, everyone will make at least one simple, silly mistake that once you see the paper again, you will wonder how on earth you could possibly have gotten that question wrong. Everybody makes a dumb, foolish mistake at one point or another. This quote can also be an example of just plain, regular, everyday life. Every single person at surrounds you makes foolish decisions at one point or another in their life. The decisions can have to do with anything. For example, trying to pick the right choice for something that you do not know the answer to. Everyone will pick the wrong choice at some point and have to face the consequence that goes along with it. The decisions that they would have to make coul have to do with anything, from picking the wrong friends to hang out with, or even picking the wrong answer for a test. The consequence for picking the wrong friends is that you will not be able to trust them with things that you tell them or you could even be peer pressured into doing something that you do not really want to do. Last, the consequence for picking the wrong answer on a test is that you get the wrong and lose points.
Everyone learns from their mistakes accomplishments. To me the quote, "we are all equally wise, and equally foolish," is very inspiring.
Albert Einstein. A wise, brilliant man once said "We are all equally wise, and equally foolish." I think he meant that you may live in a larger house, or have a nicer car and have an ego bigger than anything imaginable, but you will never be better than someone who doesnt. He believes that everyone is equal, and ones who don't believe that are just as foolish as they look when they flaunt how amazing they are when he said this quote. I believe the same thing. Even if you're the richest person on earth, you will still be buried in dirt just like the rest of the population. This relates to my life in a way that's hard to explain. I see tons of people at school that truly insist that they are better than others because of the stores they shop at or what type of shoes they have, or even because they have the best, latest appliances. I think it is unfair that people act like that. It may not be their fault that they can't afford those things, and the people who believe that they can never give the ones who can't a chance. They avoid them, being foolish, although some of the ones who don't have all the things the others have are foolish for not trying hard enough to put themselves out there and attract good attention, showing off their glowing personality instead of their pair of Jordans. The people who are accepted because of the things they can't afford show show off their talent, or smile, or fashion sense, even if its clothes from the local thrift shop. Flaunt what you have or be just as foolish as the people who think they are better than you. I see people at school who make fun of the people who aren’t as wealthy as them, and that proves that they are foolish, because one day that wealth will come and they will be wise and less foolish, they will appreciate their peers and know what its like to go through hard times. This quote also reminds me of a rising artist named Mike Stud. He started out as a typical dork in school, and was often made fun of. Once he got into highschool his athletic ability came out and he became very good at baseball and went to college for it. He soon began rapping with unknown artists like himself on soundcloud and soon made albums and made it on the Itunes charts, and even has his own ringtone ‘Uhyuuh’. He is making millions now and he still shows respect to his former team and friends. Thats my point of view of this quote. I believe all are equal and everyone has some type of purpose.
ReplyDeleteOne of the wisest men in history named Albert Einstein once said "We are all equally wise, and equally foolish." I believe that this quote can mean many things. To me, it means that everyone in this world is created equal. Even if someone has better knowledge on a subject, it doesn't mean the less knowledgable person is more foolish. Everyone asks questions, even Albert Einstein himself did. Nobody comes into this world already fully understanding the universe. There are many times in this life when we are not going to understand something and we need to ask for help without being embaressed or afraid. For example, if you are in a class where you are having a hard time with the day's topic, you have to talk to the teacher. It doesn't matter if you do it during or after class but you need to speak up. Also, if you do it during class then you might actually answer someone else's question. The quote "We are all equally wise, and equally foolish" can relate to me in many ways. Sometimes I am scared to ask questions in class when I don't understand a lesson. I always thought that I would come off dumb, or in the quote's words "foolish." This happened a lot especially when my classmates would randomly call out that it was so easy. Not knowing certain things in a certain subject is what a tutor is for. For example, you might be wise at math and foolish in english, and your friend might be wise in english but foolish in math. They are different subjects but you both have the same amount of foolishness and wisdom. It is kind of like a balance of the two minds. That friend would be able to help you in english and you would be able to help your friend in math. Don't be afraid to ask questions, I have learned that asking questions is the way that we all learn. Just like how you have to be willing to fail, in order to succeed because that is how we learn. I hope that one day we will live in a world where no one will be judged based on how foolish or how wise someone is. We are all born equal in this world.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your quote 100 %. everyone is created equally! I also agree that no one comes into the world already fully understanding the world. good job this week! keep up the good work.
DeleteWe are all equally wise, and equally foolish." -Albert Einstein. I believe this quote means that everybody is equal in every single way. No matter how superior, or less superior they seem; in the end we're all buried in the same place. We are all the same no matter what. Some of us may have more friends, some of us may have less. We might have better grades than one another, but at the end of the day we all lay down and go to sleep at night. Everybody has experienced something that relates this quote at least once in their lives. Whenever people get jealous, they do not realize that we are all the same now, and in the end. We're all equal, nobody is better than one another and it's wrong that we think that. Whether it's in the past, in movies, or in the present day; everybody faces these battles. When you're in school it's hard, you see everything you want to be or the clothes you need, the grades you want to get. It may be hard, but at the end of the day everybody wants something. Nobody should have to want something they don't have or be upset over anything that's not worth it, but that's the way life is. You can't pick and choose what you're going to be jealous of, it is hard to stay head strong. Also, we are all equally foolish. Each and every one of us makes mistakes and its our jobs to fix them. People should be based on how much they've accomplished, not how much they've done wrong. Mistakes are a big part of life and without them nobody would be who they are. Once you start doing everything right, you have nothing left to shoot for. You have no goals to go at or wish for because you believe you've done it all. I personally believe that once you have accomplished every single thing you wanted to accomplish, your life is over. Goals are a big part of life and you cannot live without them. No matter how smart you think you are, or how foolish you may seem; at the end of the day we all go to sleep at night. We'll all live, and we'll all die. We are all equally wise, and equally foolish." -Albert Einstein. That quote may be the most important thing you'll ever read.
