  1. There are many philosophies on the human mind and how humans develop emotions over time. For example, "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier. I believe by this he meant that people become so accostum of winning they begin to develop a ego-thinking they'll win every time. For example,if a football team wins the Superbowl 4 times in a row.People everywhere will but bets down for that team and the ream itself will think they'll surely win. Its after doing something reapeatly and successfully doing it there becomes this assurance almost, always giving you cofindence. Everyone has felt like this at a certain point. Personally, I felt like this many times. For example, during track I had pretty decent times and after a while I started winning the 800. During the next game I thought I was going to win,but my ego was popped when I came in 6th place out of 18 other runners. This is how the quote relates to me.

  2. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." this quote means a lot. one reason is because its telling you to have a positive mind and not let yourself down. and that you have to believe in yourself or less the things that you are trying to achieve aren't going to be achieved unless you have positive thinking. it doesn't matter how hard the times are for you, all that matters is that you keep chasing the thing you want till you have finally achieved it. nothing can bother you because if it does its just going to put you in a bad position and its going to stop you from finally achieving something. if you keep telling your self that your going to win, your going to start feeling comfortable and your going to start realizing that your becoming better then before. And yes losing is not a good thing. everyone hates losing. but when you lose , you don't let it bring you down, you think about what you did wrong and you keep doing it till you beat it and you do it the correct way, that way you don't make the same mistake you made that made you lose. but what really matters is what happens when you lose. do you let it destroy you, or do you get back up and try again. and for those who think there not good enough because there not the best at some things they do, but when they doubt themselves, they lose that motivation to-do better. I can relate this to me because at one point I wasn't trying hard enough in school. I started telling my self that am going to fail that am never going to make it to the next grade. I started to not do any homework I started not paying attention. till one I realized that without school what kind of career am I going to have with out education. and then I started doing my work. so the times that I kept doubting myself was just making me not do my work any better. but till the day came that I motivated myself to do better I did. I started handing in my work. and started to pay attention more. always have a positive outlook to everything because one day it will matter to you

    1. I agree with your respond Tony. This quote means you need to have a positive attitude and believe in yourself to succeed in what you want to do in life. Even if the think you want to achieve is hard you keep trying and never give up. I put that idea in my blog as well. It is true that things can be hard, but you need to overcome them and not quit because if you do you will get nowhere. I agree if you keep telling yourself you’re going to win you will win or do better than if you doubt yourself. Most people fail many times at the goal they what to achieve but when they get knocked down they get right back up and learn from their mistakes I liked your example about paying attention in school ,and your experience is a bit like my own. I believe there is no goal you can’t achieve even if it is stressful, as long as you believe in yourself, put in the work, and keep trying.

  3. I think this quote means that you have to be posative aout your self and your actions and if you dont have self confidance you wont be able to achive your goals and if you dont achive your goals you kind of just give up and you get no were in life and time just passes by and you did nothing with your life and the world could have bine a better place if you just believed in your self and tryed new things you could have gone great places and did great things and met new people and make new friends that just make you feel like a million dollars and all it took was self confidence and determination like me i used to slake last year i would get my grade up last year and then slake to the point that i had to work harder then before but now my grades are amazing like biology i have a 99 average and my teacher is recimending me to a track chemistory and ive always wanted to be in an a track science because when i get older i want to be a zoologist and if im bad in science then i cant do my dream job i also have to be good in math and i have a 95 average in my algera one class and i used to be bad in math but i pushed my self to do better and it worked really well for me all i did was believe that i could and worked at my goals and dont set to high of a goal or you will be dissopointed when you dont reach it and dont set to low of a goal that you reach it but you havent reached your full potential annd get a lower job or carrer then you should so never dout your self because nothing is impossible and you can reach your goals if you believe in your self look at famous people like mikel jordan he believed he could make it to the prose even though everyone doughted him but look at him now there so much jordan stuff out there that they have a song about wearing his shoes

  4. I think the quote "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." by Paul Tournier means if you win a lot at something ether it be a sport or something completely different you will get over confident and think you can do or beat anyone or pass through something with out even practicing or trying. An example of this quote is that you can be a boxer that has never once lost a match. One day a rookie challenges you and you accept. You don't do anything to practice because you know your obviously are going to beat a rookie. When the match happens though the rookie is able to beat you. You probably lost because you were too over confident and think you are always going to win. Another example of this quote is you do really good and school and your grades are always high 90's to 100. One day you know you have a big test coming up but you think you know the stuff on the test so you decide not to study for it. The test comes and you don't know any of it and you fail the test with a 30 because you were too over confident and didn't study for it. A time i can relate this quote to my life is basically my 2nd example of the quote. Last year in Science I thought I knew enough of the information on the test to not study for it I got over confident and I didn't study for it and I failed the test with a sixty because I didn't really know anything that was on the test because I didn't study for it and was over confident. Another time I can relate this quote to my life was when I was younger i used to think I was really good at this video game called Super Smash bros. Which is basically a fighting game. I usually one every match and I became over confident and started bets. Usually the bets were like 3 dollars for whoever one the match and usually I won most of them. One day i got really over confident I went up against someone who one tournaments on the game for 30 dollars. Obviously I got beaten really quick and I lost thirty dollars pretty quick because I was over confident.

  5. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier. This quote means alot. One thing that i think this quote means is that evntually those who win are those who believe in themselves. If they dont believe in themself then they can never win. Even if at the beginning they fail but they still think that they can win. They will win eventually and still think that they can win now because they finally won. If after the first time someone doesnt think that they can win they will have a slim chance of winning and they will have no faith in themself.

    1. Once you first lose you should never be thinking of what just happened you should be thinking of the things that you are going to be doing differently next time in order to succeed. An example in my life was i tryed out for a baseball team so i worried about what i was going to do the next time i tryed out for a team. Then the next team i tryed out for i made. But i didnt let myself think that i was going to make every team i try out for i had do make sure that i worked in order to make the teams that i tryed out for.

  6. “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” This quote by Paul Tournier, speaks to believing in yourself as the starting point to any kind of personal success. When setting goals, believing you can achieve them is the first step in the process. I think this is true from the smallest to the largest plan. It is this belief that keeps you trying, even during the hardest challenges in life. Sports and personal coaches often encourage their clients to visualize this end point, (success), from the beginning to end in training. This is the voice and picture to have in your head while tuning out those people who do not believe in you. Some of the best victories come when you know you have proven your critics wrong and achieved a goal in a fair way. I also believe that it I important to follow up the confidence with hard and persistent work toward the goal. (This is something we have covered in other blogs.) However, there is no magical “genie” who will grant you a win without earning it, so it is important to have specific steps in mind to achieve the goal. The example in my life again relates to academics. I was in a “B” track from first to sixth grade and going into seventh my teachers, family, and me decided I was ready for more, entering seventh grade, I wrote down that I wanted to achieve straight A s. I had to work very hard and give up some activities that I enjoy, but I knew, I could do this. The result was that I only got one B for the next two years, and it bean with a belief that I could get this done.

  7. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." Once said by Paul Tournier. What I think this quote means is, people that are confident going in to something, knowing they are good will win. When they realize that they can win more and succeed more. Sometimes people are down on themselves they don't know if they can win but when they soon realize they can win, and are good at what they do. They know they can beat all people going against them. To me personally it means that some people don't know the capability of there few talents. But when they soon realize their strengths and weaknesses, they can work harder then anyone to accomplish the goal they fight for. But sooner or later if you are good at something, you'll win and that feeling of winning never leaves someone. It's a good feeling knowing you're a winner, and when you know you win. In my own life I did cheer and doing that I won a lot of competitions. Knowing I could win, I think going into everything I can win because I have won before.

  8. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier This quote means if you tel yourself you can achive something it will happen. if you dought yourself it will not work. Winning is something that is mentally. If you can believe that you can do it then you can.your body is 90% mental and 10% physical. All you got to do is believe in what your doing. This has related to me in cheer. When I have to try a stunt I get freaked out. But its not hard when I believe in mmyself

  9. “sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” This quote was said by not only a good but a great man, Paul tournier. In my opinion this quote can mean many things, it depends on your very own life experiences. In my opinion this quote means that if you have a positive out look or positive attitude towards something, you will eventually succeed or win. For example if you play a sport and everyday before a game you have an attitude positive and wake up and say we are going to win this game, and it might not come that day, the next day or the day after that but it will eventually come a time that there will be succession and you will win the game eventually. Having a goo d attitude and positive outlook toward something that you want to succeed at will help that come very very true in the near future. Personally this quote means something to me. I know if I have confidence in something and get after it every single day I know I will eventually succeed and win at what I am trying to do! An example from my own life that this quote has come to play and related to me was in baseball. My team was losing a lot of close games in the beginning of the season and even though I said and believed that we were going to win it felt like the day would never come. I kept telling my self day after day after day after day that we were going to win and I kept believeing, well after the slow start during the first 4 games , the day finally came and we won. After that everyone was believing we could win and that was exactly what went down , we continued to win. I also know people that can relate to this quote. My friend was struggling in school and all he wanted to do was to get better grades. He believed that that day would come. Sure enough that day did come and now he is getting a lot better grades than he was and is happy with how he is doing in school and now knows all it takes is believeing. Thank you everyone for the support and i hope you have a great day

  10. "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." Is a quote by Paul Tournier. I believe this quote means the more someone wins the more they will anticipate winning. They become accustom to winning and will bet more on the game or situation. They will also not try as hard because they think they will win. This quote describes how we as humans react to habitual situations. We will develop a mind set in which we assume we are more likely to win than, the other guy, and our past selves.

This quote reminds me of movies and TV shows where a sports team constantly loses for a season or so, whether it be from getting cocky or not trying hard enough. As the team starts a new season or goes up against the top dogs, they start to loses but then they get on touchdown or goal and they start winning because they now think they can. Also, the other team is psyched out because they think they should win against the worst team.

This also reminds me of when I was in elementary school, in 4th grade I wasn't very athletic and I didn't participate in gym class very often because I in my mind I knew I couldn't win. One day we were playing basketball and I was standing there with no one covering me and the ball was thrown to me. At first I didn't know what to do, but then I realized I had to shoot the ball. I shot it and made it in, I was so happy. After that I started to participate because I thought I might be able to win and that was enough to motivate me. I proved my self wrong and now I'm very athletic and everything is a competition to me, so much so other student try to make fun of me by calling me a "try hard". When they do this I normally laugh and agree with them.

  13. I think the quote " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier means that people who win something think they can win again or gives them hope. To me personally i think it means exactly what it says. I feel if you loose something you get all down on yourself and feel like you don't want try again because your scared you will come up with the same outcome, your scared you will fail again. An example from my life would be when my softball team and i went to the world series a few years ago.We made really far and we felt that we could win it but then a stronger team came in and beet us and we lost all hope. You had to loose three games to go home and then the next two games no one tried because we were all scared we wouldn't do good enough. We all got sent home at the semi finals because we gave up. We gave up because we didn't have any confidence. If we all kept our hope we could have won it. We all learn from our mistakes.. right? Absolutely what i learned is to never get cocky because there is always someone out there that is better and they will prove it and you will be crushed so just try your best and take a loose just as well as a win.

  14. Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier i think this means that if you win you think that you can can win more and more. Also this could mean that if you if you dont try or dont think you can achieve something that means you wont and never achieve what you want because you have to believe for yourself. I can relate this to the real world because many of sports players or kids always believe they can achieve stuff to win and they do or sports players when they win they always think they can achieve it again because there confidence is as 110% when they win it all in sports. I can relate this quote to me because in sports when you win your always happy and think you can do it again. Another example is to try your best and stuff will happen or get better in your career or even more this is what i think about the quote Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier.

  15. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier This means to me that if you keep a positive attitude you will have a positive reaction. So to have a positive future you must never look at the negative side of anything. When I keep a positive mind I actually do positive things and do not fail. I believe that keeping a positive attitude is always the best thing to do. For instance if someone is in a hospital and is keeping a positive attitude they are more likely to survive then one who isn't trying to keep a positive attitude. Its just a common fact that if you keep a positive attitude yuou will have a positive future. if you think that something bad is going to happen more likely you wont do anything. I once heard a saying that goes like"those who say they can and those who say they cant are both usally right" both of these talk about believing in yourself and not doubting yourself

  16. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier. This quote is a very good quote that many people could use to better them selves and have a more p ositive life. The quote is about having patience and never giving up in life and seeing the good positive outcomes that will soon come you nway if you eventually wait and work your hardest to prove people wrong. No one but yours self can better your self and have better things come into our life . " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier means that soon enough if you work to your potential you will accomplish more than you think and have better outcomes with in your life. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier what this quote means and how it relates to me is that one time everyone thought I would fail but i stepped up and worked my hardest to get passing grades and soon enough I was passing and proved every body who doubted me wrong . also it relates to me by me in football when I got hurt everyone thought I would never be as good but I worked all offseason and now im better than I was before and have way more experience. I also believed I could do 8it so I had a way b better chance no of accomplishing every thing I needed to and now I am happy and content with everything but I still need to work hard. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier. Is a quote everyone needs to read and bring into their ;life because all it brings is positive things and makes you better at what you want to do and how you do it. That is how this quote relates to me and how it is brought into my life.

  18. Paul Tournier once said, "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." I think this quote means that if people have a good attitude towards something, then there is a very good chance that they will succeed in it. For example, if you are trying out for a new sport and all you think about is how you are going to fail, then eventually their bad thoughts will get to their heads and they will end up failing at whatever they were afraid to. However, if they think positive things about the sport, then they will end up doing a much better job than is they thought only about the bad things. But even if someone isn't going out for a new sport, this quote can still mean something to them personally. Like most things, a great deal of people can relate to them. Another example was when my cousin was in a play. My whole family went there to see and support her. But when we got there I couldn't find her. As the rest of my family scattered around the auditorium to find her, she texted me and told me to go to the bathroom. When I walked in the door, I found her shaking with glassy eyes in one of the stalls. She told me she was find when they were just rehearsing the play, but when she saw everybody's friends and family enter through the doors, all these thoughts started rushing through her head; "What if I trip walking out onto the stage? What if I suddenly forget my lines? What if I mess up so badly that after the play everyone tells me it's my fault we did a bad job?" Soon, her "what-if's" became as ridiculous as "What if while I'm walking out on stage, I suddenly forget how to walk but I know I still have to get out there so I just crawl out like a baby?" I told her she was being crazy and absurd. "You can't think things like that," I told her "if you do, you'll end up doing something stupid. Just think about how much fun you've been having these past couple weeks and just act like nothing has changed. You'll do fine. I promise." Soon enough, I got her to get out of the bathroom and back into the auditorium. When she was out there, she did amazing! This just proves that thinking negative thought will only hurt you in the end. So whether you you're trying out for a new sport or you are the star in a play, always thing positive thoughts.

  19. " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." -Paul Tournier this quote means a lot. If people win a lot they start to become cocky. They think they are better than everyone else because they won before. They think they have enough skill to beat everyone else. They put others down in the process witch is why no one likes them. So people who tend to win a lot become cocky and just think that they are going to win every time. What most of them don’t realize is that there are 7 billion people in the world ad odd are a lot f people are better than you. These winners aren’t always going to win. No one can be perfect al the time you cant win them all so face the fact and see that losing gives you a chance to get better, if you win all the time then there is no need to practice and you will always be where you are. If you lose then you have a motive to practice harder and try to win. This is what I think this quote means
This one I can relate to very well. There are a lot of cocky people in central. In some of my class’s thinks she is the best at everything because she is good at a sport. She thinks everyone is less than her and what she doesn’t know is that a lot of people don’t like her because she thinks she is better than everyone. She wins in her sports and yeah its great that central wins but she doesn’t have to make others feel bad about them self’s. Another example is this girl one my soccer team she thinks she’s the best player but she really is like the worse she cant run and doesn’t have a good kick. The only reason she plays as much as she does is because her mom is the coach. She sucks and she thinks she is better than everyone else who can run and kick far distances. People who think they can win and are really cocky are really annoying in my option. This is high school and people need to calm down on thinking that there the best

  20. Paul Tournier once said " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." What I think he meant by this was that those who think they can have confidence that they will be able to win. I also believe that he means that these people are focused on what they want to achieve in their life and they will be able to accomplish it by having that ability to remain focused and to complete a task. This personally means to me that I want to win in life. In order for me to want to win and think I can win I need to set up goals in my life to accomplish task that I want to succeed at. I need to follow a path that will lead me into completing and accomplish a goal. Whether it be a short goal or a longer one to reach.

One example from my own life when I want to achieve a goal and or to win could be when I am at school. For example, completing my homework assignments. During the school year we get a lot of homework assignments. I know if I complete my assignments I am accomplishing a task. Then I know it will be worth it in the long term as I will complete each marking period and move on to the next. ThereforeI can progress to the next step and grade. Which will lead to graduation from High School.

Another example, is when I am on my bike and I am trying to learn a new trick. At first some tricks are harder then some. It may take ten times to try a new trick or hundreds. I know I want to learn this new trick and I will not let falling get in the way. I put myself in the mind set that I will accomplish the trick that I have been trying to get right. When I land it I know that, “sooner or later” that it will come and I will accomplish my goal. Therefore as in Paul Tournier’s quote I will “Sooner or later” win by completing and accomplishing the task be it short term or a long term goal.
