“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
~e.e. Cummings

this quote to a book or movie? Explain using examples
It take courage to grow up and become who you really aren't~e.e.Cummings.This quote is said by lot of people such as your family members or friends.I think this quote means that you have to be confident to achieve your goals. Some people never achieve their goals because they cared too much about what other people thought about them. You don't have to think what other people think of you you have to be yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also believe that this quote means that as you grow up you learn to embrace the person you really are and accepting this person. This takes courage in that most people at some point in their lives struggle with wanting to be someone else.
It's easy to take the path of least resistance and just get by from day to day.It takes effort to achieve your potential. For some that comes easy, but for others it takes courage and maturity to leave their comfortable existence to rise to the level of their potential.
This quote is also related by Eile Wiesel from the book night. Ellie Wiesel was in the concentration camp at the very young age. He saw and heard so many things and all the what was happening in the Camp but still he survived the worst time of his life. He had courage to face the challenges and survived the the concentration camp, he starved and saw the women, men ,children and babies get killed and he was so powerful inside and he was so courageous and being himself. We are coming to the time of the year that people are graduating from schools and moving on with there life. Some from 8th grade others from High School and some are graduating into the real world. All of these steps are big parts in our life and some are harder then others. When some people think about growing up they set goals that would like to reach but never really strive for them. For some people it's hard to set a goal but once you what do you want to do and what you want to be in your life.Growing up does mean taking on responsibilities and not all are fun but we do have to do them. This quote is so inspirational and so much to learn from the quote.
A very wise man once said a very wise quote. The quote states “It takes courage to grow up many different meanings, depending on the people that you ask. To me, this quote and become who you really are.” This quote was said by e.e. Cummings. This quote has means that you have confidence and courage to become the person that you really want to become in life. You can not go through life being negative and not really trying anything. If you do that, it will lead to a negative life in the future and you will make negative decisions. However, if you go through life making positive decisions, you will lead a positive lfen the future. Also, as you grow up and get older, you start find out and embrace who you really are, and the person that you will and want to become. Personally, I believe that this quote means that you need to have courage and pride to grow and embrace the person that you really are.
ReplyDeleteI can relate this quote to the book Night by Elie Wiesel. Elie went through the concentration camps at a pretty young age. He faced obstacles that noone should ever have to face at any point in their life. He was forced to grow up way too soon than he should have ever had to. Going through all of the problems and obstacles that he faced definitely took a lot of courage and pride. He suffered through a very terrifying, difficult, terrible time. However, he still managed to pull through and live through the despair and torture that he had to call life. For example, he starved, and he had to watch people get brutally beaten and had to watch people drop dead right in front of him. Also, he had to watch his own father get beaten right in front of him, really for no reason. He had to go through a time in his life that no one should ever have to go through.
I can also relate this quote to Martin Luther King Jr. He grew up in time where black people were segregated from everyone else. He stood up for what he believed in and gave his “I have a dream” speech and tried to put a stop to discrimination. I took him a lot of courage to do at in front of that many people. He made a real difference in the world, for the better.
ReplyDelete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. This quote is something you just think about and a lot of things could pop up in your head. What I really think this quote mean is that not everyone knows who they really are. People just hide their true self because they are afraid of what people would say. In today's world everyone is always trying to fit in because it's the cool thing. Sometimes you just have to say no and do you, do what you think it's right. Some people think they can't do something and they will never know they could do it unless they try it. Maybe you might not start off good but you'll get there. The people that you look up to today were the people that took that extra step to grow up and now look at them. They accomplished everything they would of ever wanted to. I can relate this to myself by well I really still need to time to grow and know who i really becomed and I know a lot of people are like this too. Right now I'm just trying to stay focused in school and life because that what really matters right now. People are like hey let's make the best of life by doing stupid things and I just laugh and think about how stupid that is. I can relate this to the book by Elie at first why scared of what was going to happen. He didn't really know himself till the very end of the book. He realized that the only way to survive was to be on his own. At one point he was mad that he gave up his soup to his dad because he was very sick but he knew he had to. He never thought he would become like this. He then realized he wouldn't give up and made it through the whole thing. Now he writes books and won a Nobel Peace prize. This is a very good quote. “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. To me this quote could be different to anyone.
good job this week rigoberto. I agree that people are afraid to be themselves because of what other people are going to say. I also agree that The people that you look up to today were the people that took that extra step to grow up and now look at them. good job this week keep up the good work.
Delete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are” was once said by e.e Cunnings. This means that growing up if a very difficult process that requires a lot of courage, especially in a world like today. You have to go through many stages in your life, physically, mentally and emotionally. These stages can be a lot for a single person to handle. Everyone is bound to get picked on or any form of harassment at least 3 times in their lives. Whether it be as a joke or in all seriousness, it happens. This hurts the person themselves deep downside no matter who you are. You may act like you walk away not caring, but there is always a small part of your mind that was bothered by whatever has been said. Even if it was something as dumb as “Nice shirt HAHA just kidding.” This just might cause that person to not want to wear that shirt anymore. You never really know, so you should always watch what you say. Also, growing up out of school is very hard as well. You are forced to figure out a career and deal with bills and housing etc. This tends to put a lot of stress on an individual. If you don’t know what you want to do after highschool, you can mess up your whole life. This puts a lot of stress on a person. This quote does relate to me as well. Although I am just a freshman in highschool, it is time to start deciding what I want to do out of highschool. It will all take time so I need to start now.
ReplyDeleteGood job on your blog this week summer! You did a great job at explaining what this quote personally means. I completely agree with you about growing up and having to go to school, and growing up out of school. Being forced to find a career, being insulted in school. It really does have an affect on people. Great job this week!
DeleteGreat job summer. I liked the way you explained it. Everyone will be judged more than one but yeah. Also, I like the way you put life into this and what could go wrong
Delete"it takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." this quote was said by a great person, e.e. cunnings. this quote means that it takes a lot to realize that is time to grow up and become mature and it also takes a lot accepting the fact that you can not always be a kid and you can not always act like one. going into the real world is difficult to accept as well. growing up is a hard aspect in life and it takes a while for some people to do it. personally this quote means to me that you will not just grow up over night it takes time and you have to mature. but when it is time to grow up, its time. I can relate this quote to the book called night. elie bagan to mature as going on in the death camps. he realized the reality of it, most likely him and his father wouldn't survive. he started to worry more about himself and himself surviving. he matured but in a selfish way. overall I think this was a great quote.
ReplyDeleteelie wiesel was selfish for only thinking of himself but he finally started to see the reality of things and began to realize the only way to survive and keep himfelf alive was to only worry about himself. stop giving his sick dad his food and start keeping it for himself because hes only hurting himself by sharing it
Delete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. This quote is not only true, but it's so short yet so meaningful. I believe it takes all of the courage in the world to be who you really are. Not only because everybody is always being judged, but because being yourself is just as difficult as finding yourself. Personally, I think this quote means exactly what it says. It does take courage to grow up, and be who you are. There's no question about it.
ReplyDeleteKids grow up, and go to school. As they grow up some of them just tend to be a little more rude than others. They're called "weird" if they're different and "popular" if they're not. Being put into groups when you're young is one of the most degrading things I've ever heard of. If you're called weird, if you're called stupid; how much harder is it to be yourself? A million times harder than anybody else could ever imagine. It takes courage to break through that, it takes courage to be your own person and realize those people don't matter. If you give in to those people, it'll make it a lot harder than it would be if everybody just realized that they're insecure. I believe everybody has things they want to fix things about themselves. If everybody that wasn't them just left those things alone, it wouldn't have to be so difficult to be original. Find new friends or just have a better life in general.
I could easily relate this quote to "Night", Elie Wiesel. Elie had to have all of the courage in the whole world to fight through the terrible journey he went through. It must've took every ounce of him to continue to write about his experience. Whilst he was in the camp it took all of his strength to live on. He stopped caring about his father, he stopped caring about God and he only wished for a world with no bells. The amount of courage that must have taken is unreal.
To even begin to tell everybody about your personal experience at auschwitz... That's unbelievable.
This quote is incredible in a billion different ways. It describes every single person who's ever lived on this earth. Whether we all like to admit it or not, it takes courage to be who we are. It takes courage to grow up and become mature. Everything takes work, and it's just how life is.
Mia, I think you did great on this weeks blog. You explained what the quote meant clearly. You also gave such good exmaples from the book night. I also totally agree with you on how you said Elie must have used every ounce of courage in his body to get through. Anyway, great job !!
DeleteIt takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. Personally I think this quote can mean many things. I think it depends on who you are as a person. You are your own personality. Like the quote says “It takes courage”, it means it takes bravery. You have to sacrifice what you want to do. Go with what your mind is telling you. Don’t do what others tell you even know they want to help. What ever they could be telling you is the wrong thing. So do what you feel is right. It’s time to realize is that it is time to grow up. You can’t just grow up because your friends have matured. You have to make your self be ready. This quote can relate to many things. Such as, books, movies, or real life. In my opinion this quote relates to the book called “Night” by Elie Wisel. This quote relates by Elie had to get himself through the torture in the concentration camps and the hell he was was put through was just awful. He had to stay positive because if they found out that he was weak they would kill him in a second because he was useless. So Elie kept that positive attitude and did all the work he was asked to do. However, he still managed to pull through and live through the despair and torture that he had to call life. What he had did was he starved himself, and he had to watch people get brutally beaten and had to watch people drop dead right in front of him. Elie didn’t want any of that to happen to him but he knew it would eventually. Elie Wiesl’s own father was in the camp with him. He had to watch his own father get killed right in front of his face. It was an awful experience for him and he knew he didn’t want to live it. I couldn’t imagine what he had gone through. He took all the courage he had in him and used it. For him to still be alive today and to tell the story that happened is amazing. People get to hear the true stories not the fake ones on what they think happened. Overall, I think Elie Wisel is a great man and what he went through was just torture and hell.

DeleteGood job I really liked how you explained what the quote meant. I like how you related it to "night". You used really good examples on how it relates. For example how you said he had to always have a positive attitude.
DeleteThe quote “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” was E.E Cummings. This quote means that as you grow up you face obstacles and throughout these obstacles you will need a lot of courage to complete the task ahead. This quote also means to be who you are and don't let anyone else steer you off of your chosen path. You have to be who you really are and you can't let no one change that. This quote affects so many of us without us knowing as well. This quote is extremely important and it is also full of a great deal of knowledge. This quote has effected my life along with several others I know and you may know. This quote should effect all of just because it is basically a quote describing maturity. This quote has affected my life by someone I knew had grown up being the person they didn't want to be instead they wanted to be a artist but instead they had gotten stuck as a driver. If this person were to follow their dreams they would have been the best artist the world has seen. The way this person took was the way that their parents wanted them to take not the way that they wanted. This is what this quote is talking about it is saying how we should make our own decisions instead of having someone make them for us. If we live our lives having people make decisions for ourselves then what living worth to any of us. The quote also effects my life by when I was younger I wanted to be a dancer when I grew up but now that I am in high school and thinking about my future I can't say I want to be a dancer I chose to say I want to be an FBI linguist instead of my childish idea I had chose a path for myself and I plan on sticking with this path for a while. This quote should effect all of us and if you believe it doesn't then go back to when you were a little kid saying when I grow up I want to be an astronaut or I want to be a business man or women and then see if this quote effects your life and how you have matured and grown.
ReplyDeleteyou did great job this week,i agree that this quote effect all of us and it effects our life and how you have been matured and grown, this quote is so maningfull in every way to all of us.good job and keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteA wise man named e.e. Cummings once said, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” This quote sounds absolutely beautiful and is definitely very true. I believe that this quote means that when you go through a hardship that you couldn’t handle when it first happened, it takes some real strength to get over it and move on with your life. I takes a special kind of strength to grow up and become what you have always wanted to be. Many people in this world have big dreams that they have always wanted to pursue but something traumatic could happen to them and then their mind will start to go off course. They could start zoning out a lot and not be into the same things they were into before. The only way they will be able to pursue their dreams and do what they want to do after that, is if they move past whatever awful thing has happened to them and get their life back on track. The quote “It takes courage to grow up and become who you are,” can relate to my life because about two years ago my dog past away during the summer from cancer. When I first moved to my apartment complex, there were many dog breeds that were not allowed. My dog was a pit bull so we were not allowed to bring him. I seriously wish that people would realize that not all pit bulls are bad. It’s never the dog’s fault, it is the owner. Anyway, we had to give him to my uncle’s old neighbors. We knew them pretty well so I did get to see him a few times before he died. When I found out that he died I was really upset because he was like my best friend and I loved him so much. I think I was mostly sad because I never really got to say goodbye. To this day I miss him so much but I had to learn to move on and go on with my life. This quote can also relate to the novel “Night” because the author Elie went through the pain of a concentration camp and the loss of his mother, sister, and his father. Yet, after all this tragedy, he learned to move on and he was able to live to tell the story. In conclusion, I believe that this quote is a very beautiful one. Also, I hope that everyone can learn something from this amazing quote.
