“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings this quote means a lot of things and surely hits you on a very very personal level . I believe that this quote is saying that it takes alot of guts to actually mature and learn there is more to life then just being a kid and haVing fun. Even though the childhood is very important growing up is majority a big part of life also you need it to survive. You need it to survive because if you don't grow up no one will want to hire you unless you plan on working at chuckie cheese then be a kid all you want. This makes me think of Peter pan for some odd reason because he wants to stay a boy forever but the girl that he likes says she doesn't always want to be a kid and wants to grow up which takes alot of guts. This can barely relate to my life because I am always playing around and barely serious because the world is serious enough and I'm just trying to be the sunshine that the world needs. So remember it's ok to be a kid forever but some people don't like it and you'll soon enough have to grow up 👍
ReplyDeleteloved it bro short in sweet just the way they should be oh yeah
DeleteI agree carlos because you have to be mature on what you do and what you say. Tke control of your actions. That was really good and smart of you to write that! keep up the good work
DeleteI very strongly agree with your view on this quote. I agree that this quote means that life in all fun and games. You need to grow up and take responsibilities for your actions. That was a very expletory way to put it.
Delete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” By e.e Cummings. This quote means a lot to me because it is very true. It you don’t try things for your own and let your parents do everything you are letting them run you life. You have to make your own life. If they do everything for you will not get very far in life. You will not know what to do when it comes to anything. You will have to go back to them for advice. Also this quote can relate to the holocaust because for kids when there families died they had to protect them self and find out how to survive on there own. Also they had to grow up very fast. They could not act like little kids anymore. Because it they did they would be killed.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Jason. A lot of people don't grow up and let their parents run there life your never going to get any where. You have to make you own decisions. You will end up not knowing what to do what your life. Good Job Jason!
DeleteI thought that was a great response. If I was to rate that 1-10 I would rate it a ten
Delete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings, to me this quote means that we, as the human race, don't want to have responsibilities. All we want to do is have fun, but we know that we have to do certain things to ensure ourselves a good future. Some people pretend that they don't know that and lie to themselves just so they can have fun right now. This quote also means that its hard to grow up. Its hard to handle all your responsibilities and make sure everything is handled. it means that you have to understand that you are the only person that can help you. It means that you will one day have to do everything for yourself and if you don't start now and practice you'll be behind of most others your age and still living at home with your parents. I think it won't be fun but it is something we'll have to do. I think growing up also means being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and see the world how they see it. If this is apart of growing up it will make it easier on everyone, because people will understand and care more.
ReplyDeleteThis quote relates to me because I recently tried to do everything on my own, like dishes, laundry, and cooking. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't impossible. I couldn't do much else and I realized that with practice this will become easier. I didn't like being responsible for myself, but its something I'll have to do one day. My mom said it never end and to get used to it. I thought that it wasnt right that we have to do so much by ourselves, but I guess that's why people get married so they could share the burden and make it easier on each other.
Good job, Chuckie. You made some very good points and I agree with 100% of the things you stated in your essay.
Delete"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." -e.e. Cummings. In my eyes, this quote means that growing up, although a part of life, is something that is very difficult to. And growing up doesn't always necessarily mean paying the mortgage, going grocery shopping and doing your own laundry. It means finding who you are as a person. It means you have to be able to develop the person who want to grow up to be. And a lot of times, becoming the person you are going to grow up is the hardest part of growing up. To be able to become your own individual person is a very difficult thing for people to do and truly does take a lot of courage.
ReplyDeleteThis quote can relate to me personally because I am currently living through a very difficult time in my life. I am learning a lot about people and how they are choosing to carry themselves. I have to choose to be the kind of person I want to be and it can be a very difficult thing for me to do sometimes. But I know it's something everybody has to got though and I just need to keep pushing through my tunnel to make it to the other side.
I agree with your response Evelynn. Growing up can be a very difficult thing for people to do, and takes a lot of courage for sure. However, it is a part of life. I believe that at our age. We do this in steps, as you pointed out you also said that growing up doesn’t mean to go grocery shopping or paying taxes. At this time I believe we have to make more of our choices for ourselves and start to take on responsibilities at home. During this times in our lives our body changes and we need to develop the best person in ourselves. I agree that we need to try to understand people in order to better understand ourselves. I am glad that we have supports like teachers, family, classmates and friends so we don’t have to grow up alone.
DeleteI think the quote “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” by e.e. Cummings means that it takes a lot become an "adult" and to start to behave as one. It takes a lot of maturity to be considered to be grown up and for some people that can be hard and even scary. So that is why he is saying it takes courage to become grown up because for some people it can be challenging and scary. Some teenagers can not even act grown even when they are eight-teen and have reached the legal age of being an adult because some can not either accept that they are an adult or are too scared to become one and act like more of a kid then some kids themselves. Sometimes kids have more mannerism then some Teenagers and adults because they were able to mature faster and are more grown up even though they are younger then that adult or then. Usually people who mature faster do better in school and usually become more successful then people who wait around until their in their twenties to face the facts that they need to start to grow up and become an adult. Sometimes people never do grow up until they absolutely have to and end up living with there parents until there in there thirty's and its not even that uncommon as you would think to see someone in there forty's still living with there parents because they never learned to grow up or become the adult they should be. In extremely rare cases there is people who live with there parents until they die. That again is all because they did not have a not courage to grow up and become an adult. People who actually go to college and mature and become grown ups even have a hard time getting a job that they could live on. Imagine how hard it would be for someone who doesn't really start maturing until there in there twenties. It would be almost two or three times harder then the person who matured and got the courage to become an adult. That is also why you should try to grow up and realize that your becoming and adult at a younger age. I can relate this quote to the book to kill a mocking bird. In the book the main characters brother Jeremy Finch or Jem matures rapidly in the book. He starts to stop acting like a kid which he was during the beginning of the book to sorta of a young adult by the end. He even had enough courage to stand up for his father during a gang of people tried to jump and possibly kill him.
ReplyDeleteI feel this quote means that its going to be hard growing up your going to go through things that will change how you look at the world and there will be times you are put in situations that you cant make a desissions but what you have to do is just think about it for a while and just follow your instincts you can only get it wrong if you dont follow your instincts life can suck at some point but just suck it up and push through cause that is the only way to handle it just keep your head up and move on some people and situations arent worth your time just find what you were born to do and practice it and make a carrer out of it so you can get married have kids and stuff so just do you feel in life is your destiny dont let anything stand in your way I know its scary to think about but when you get to this point in your life you will be glad because you will feel free and feel like your own person but you have to live your life to the fullest but safely plus growing up brings alot of pluses but make sure there the right plusses dont do something you think you will regret so good luck in life dont do drugs dont kill people and dont get killed make sure you look both ways before crossing the street.
ReplyDelete“ It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” This famous quote by poet ee cummings seems to fit where I stand in life at this time. In high school there is a lot of pressure to fit in and not to stand out. For example, a students may not fell they can full show all of their quirks and likes and talents for fear of being bullied or ostracized. A student can also feel labeled and put into a certain category because of past history or performance in middle school, etc. this quote challenges us to break free of all these thoughts and truly be the person we want to be at this moment, without fear of judgement. Personally, I think the challenge of this quote is quite difficult. Inside, and to those who know me, I enjoy life, having fun, and have a good sense of humor. Because of my shyness, my true nature is not easy to share with the world and I am stuck being viewed as “the quiet one”. Although I have made quite a bit of progress over the years, I am still working on showing the world who I really am. I also think that this “growing up” occurs, if we are lucky, for a lifetime as we make choices that, hopefully, are in keeping with our goals and talents. The growing also happens with more education, meet our spouses, and become parents this quote reminds me of the character Red in the movie The Shaw Shank Redemption. Red did what he could to protect himself and be indispensable in prison by being the man who could smuggle anything into jail. But underneath he was insecure and could not envision having the courage to begin a life outside of prison walls. As the movie ends, and Red is finally paroled, he summons up the hope and courage to reject suicide and join his friend Andy on the beaches of Mexico. This is the person Red really is and it took all of his courage to grow up and get there. I will think of this quote as I keep struggling to meet the goals I have set for myself. I will also seek out the courage to truly become the person I know is inside and keep growing.
ReplyDelete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings In my opinion I think this blog is a really important key in like. No one understands how important it is to not mess up in your childhood. Your childhood affects who you are in the future. Theres this thing called reputation. You don't wanna ruin your reputation in your childhood and mess your whole life up in the future. For example, I have seen people my age mess their life up already. In my school there was this kid who just wanted to pull a little prank and prank his teacher. He put eye drops in the teachers coffee. the teacher then got rushed to the hospital and the swat team had to take him out. They searched his locker and he was taken to juvy. He is expelled from school, also no one in the near future will ever trust him again. Im pretty sure he regrets it and now he has to live with it for the rest of his life. When he goes to look for jobs they will know he did that. College will not take him in.I think that's what the courage part comes in. You have to take courage and not do the stupid stuff youi want to do. This can relate to me in so many ways. Its always going to be hard growing up. And one time I messed up was when I cheated on a test a couple of years ago and no one could trust me after that. It was terrible. I just wanted to scream and needed to gain peoples trust back. It takes a lot of courage to grow up.
ReplyDelete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e Cummings. This quote means many things, a variety of description that we all believe could be right. It does take courage to grow up; we have to put aside things that we are so used to and start learning things the right way. As we grow up we have to learn what’s wrong and what’s right. Between what we knew and what we are going to know becoming adults. Becoming who you are as a person depends on choices you will make that you learn from and sculpt you into someone you may have always wanted to be. Or may not wanted to be at all but from time to time you will be happy with how you grew up or upset with how you grew up. The quote basically tells you what it’s truly about. It takes time and patience to learn who you are as a person and a big part of becoming that you are is by growing up. We change a lot when growing up, and I’m talking about age wise. When I was little I would always get asked a question, and that was “what do you want to be when you get older?” Everyone that’s been to school our teachers ask us that, because they want a better understanding of who we are. But when we were younger our answers would be, astronauts, ballerina, or something crazy that most likely only one or two of those kids will grow up and be those things. But as we get older we are growing up and realizing who we are as people and what we want our lives to be like. So those crazy answers are toned down to teachers, or nurses. Those are more practical jobs and we know we can get those. Its harder to realize us now saying we want to be brain surgeons like when we were younger. So growing up is hard but, becoming who you are is easy. If you just know who you want to be you have to take that big step of growing up to live your dream life. An example from a movie could be from Billy Madison. He is almost thirty and goes back to school but has to start over. He’s literally in classes with five year olds because everyone thinks he is so dumb. Its easy to judge someone by what little education they’ve had but he turns out being very smart and becomes the person he wanted to be! He had to also grow up with that too
ReplyDeletei completly agree with you it depends on the choices you make and you have to learn what is right and wrong.
Delete"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." is a quote by e.e. Cummings. this quote means that you have to be brave in the real world and also be able to go on your own. for example, if you ever commit a crime and get sentenced to jail and you start crying and pleading to not go to jail just like you did to your mommy 10 years ago, it wont work this time. also you need courage in the real world to apply for jobs and other things. you don't want your mom or dad going to your job interview when you're 26 years old. they'll think down on you. Another example of this is a movie I watched called "step brothers" this reminded me of this quote because in the movie two 40 year old men still lived with their parents because they didn't have enough courage to go out in the real world and apply themselves to a job or something that can make them move on with their lives.
ReplyDeleteThis quote an relate to me personally because I am very lazy and I don't apply myself as much as others. I have courage and every little boys dream is to grow up to be a millionaire or a rock star but that rarely happens and people need the courage to understand the fact that you need to work towards things to get to your goals and you need courage to do that.
This quote "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." Is by e.e. Cummings. This quote relates to everyones life in many different ways. One way is that growing up takes maturity. You have to learn to be mature while you grow up if you laugh at everything no one will say anything around you. You also have to be brave when you go out in the world. You cant be afraid all the time in the world. For example if you are going to a job interview and you are really scared they will see that and start to question if you have the courage for this job. This quote relates to me because you have to work for what you want and you need courage to do that and you cant be immature. You need to be like an adult not like a child.
ReplyDeleteIt takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. What I think this quote means is many people may be to shy to show others who they truly are. They may act way different around certain groups of people. A person may have these amazing talents and you just have no idea about them. You have to show everyone who you really are and be proud of it. Don't matter what anyone else says about it. You cant have people helping you and telling you what to do all the time, you have to be your own person and do it yourself. Their are people my age whos lives are already ruined for what they have done. I don't want to be like those people. You don't wanna be going to others for advice once you get to a certain age. This quote relates to me personally if your really good at something.. you should go out for a job application. Don't be afraid...nobody will find your talents out if you don't tell them. If you don't reveal,,you may end up working t mcdonalds and nobody wants that. Just don't be afraid to show who you are...it will all be worth it in the end. I can relate this quote to the book to kill a mocking bird. In the book the main characters brother Jeremy Finch or Jem matures rapidly in the book. They learn from boo they turn from childish to more mature by the end of the book. This is what I think This quote "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." Is by e.e. Cummings. means.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you frank nice job with this weeks blog. Keep up the good work. I like the example you used and I liked the blog overall. Keep up the good work
DeleteIt takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. for me I think that this quote has different meaning to different people. but to me I think that its means that in order to be successful inlife you have to be brave in the real world. because not taking on challeges that you think should be taken your never going to relize how strong you are. or what you are capable of. Challenges in life are big, because they prepare yo to become better and strong so when you feel like life is kicking you down you already know what it feels like. this also fits in a highschool situation. because there are students all over the world that think if they share what they like they will be bullied. but theyneed to embrace it because the people that bully you aren't doing nything by making a fool out f themselves. and you have to be able to control your self. growing up is very difficult now a days. becuas todays society is all about how you look or what you like or how you dress. or even some get made fun of for the sexualty the person has. but its your life and yo should live your life they way you want, not by the way you don't want to. if you have a dream to becoming the best, make sure you give it a 100 percent in. growing up will teach you to be strong. to hold yourself up through the hard times life brngs you, but its all up to yoyu. live by this quote because it has true meaning. I can relate this to kill a movking bird because the lawyer had the abilty todefend a black person, he didn't want to becyuase he would be looked at differently. because the rasicim there was so bad. and he had the guts to defend him and he didn't care aout what othewers thought about him .he knew what he did was the right thing, and that's ewhat made him not quick, maybe he had the intentions to becoming the person tovchanging the world. but that's him
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with what you said especially the part when you talked about how life has a lot of big challenges and how they prepare us for even bigger parts in our life and how it fits with the situation we are in now like going in and being successful in high school. I also believe you were right about how growing up teaches all of us to be strong in life and how its very hard growing up in todays society and we must be brave in order to make in todays world
DeleteAs humans we are all born as a blank slate. We are nothing. Then slowly we begin to get influenced, but only by the good. You know how when you are younger and your parents shield you from a problem that's going on in the family but they constantly tell you about the good and try to force good morals on you. Then when you begin to grow older you may start to see the bad things that your parents may have been hiding all along. You might start to understand why you're mother and father yelled at each other and why your father slept on the couch. Or you might understand why your older brother had glassy red eyes nad why his room had a horrible smell. In the words of e.e Cummings “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”. I believe growing up is realizeing these bad things and accepting them and it takes courage to find yourself and paint your blank canvas and make something you find beautiful. To conclude the perspective of my quote I believe that it takes courage to grow up in the messed up society that we live in and I believe it takes even more courage to paint yourself. To think that we start off as nothing. No story, no words in the book of our lives and slowly when we mature we take the pen and the story is in our hands. Creating your own story take convindence taking hold of the pen and just writing freely is courage.
ReplyDeleteWhat I believe what this quote means is that people should be willing to be brave and not be afraid of what lies ahead in the road in front of them. Being courageous is a humongous part of growing up. having the courage to try new things and not being afraid to fail at a certain point in time. How this quote relates to me personally is that being courageous was a huge part for me growing up I had to take leaps in order to move forward sometimes there was a net to catch me other times there was no net and I fell flat on my face but that didn't stop me if I did not have the courage to be brave and move on then I would not be half of the person I am today. I can relate this book to a movie I saw called Inside llewyn davis where this folk singer was trying to make it big. He had the courage to travel all the way from New York City To Chicago facing many hurdles along the way having to hitchhike and walk through blistering cold and snow in order to make there sure he didn't achieve his dream and maybe never will but he wont give up because he has courage in order to move on and he's not afraid of failure
