ReplyDeleteA very wise man once said a very wise quote. The quote states “It takes courage to grow up many different meanings, depending on the people that you ask. To me, this quote and become who you really are.” This quote was said by e.e. Cummings. This quote has means that you have confidence and courage to become the person that you really want to become in life. You can not go through life being negative and not really trying anything. If you do that, it will lead to a negative life in the future and you will make negative decisions. However, if you go through life making positive decisions, you will lead a positive lfen the future. Also, as you grow up and get older, you start find out and embrace who you really are, and the person that you will and want to become. Personally, I believe that this quote means that you need to have courage and pride to grow and embrace the person that you really are.
ReplyDeleteI can relate this quote to the book Night by Elie Wiesel. Elie went through the concentration camps at a pretty young age. He faced obstacles that noone should ever have to face at any point in their life. He was forced to grow up way too soon than he should have ever had to. Going through all of the problems and obstacles that he faced definitely took a lot of courage and pride. He suffered through a very terrifying, difficult, terrible time. However, he still managed to pull through and live through the despair and torture that he had to call life. For example, he starved, and he had to watch people get brutally beaten and had to watch people drop dead right in front of him. Also, he had to watch his own father get beaten right in front of him, really for no reason. He had to go through a time in his life that no one should ever have to go through.
I can also relate this quote to Martin Luther King Jr. He grew up in time where black people were segregated from everyone else. He stood up for what he believed in and gave his “I have a dream” speech and tried to put a stop to discrimination. I took him a lot of courage to do at in front of that many people. He made a real difference in the world, for the better.
Nice blog, i agree with your statemnt and believe that is a good summary for the quote.
DeleteThis was a great blog. I think you really showed what this quote means. I really like the examples you gave also.
DeleteYou did a great job. You gave solid examples to help understand the quote better.
Delete"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings i believe this quote means that when your younger you always have this plan to become somethjnrg great and do good things in your future, but thats easy said than done, it takes courage to do what you wanna be because it will always be hard sometimes for you to accomplish getting that job or kind of lifestyle because there is always roadblocks and challenges on your way to become something great, also it might be hard because what you want to do other people might make fun of your or try to put you down and that could be make you scared to become who you really are. I think the moral of this quote is to be who you are and dont let annoying get in your head and stop you from being yourself.
ReplyDeleteMany people make fun of me because im JROTC and to be honest i really dont care, i love the program and no one can stop me from being what i want to be in the program because thats who i am and i feel welcome there and everyone who makes fun are just mean people and need to get their own life together like me because i already know what i want to do, so F*** all you haters, im me and will never change me no matter how much you hate me.
Fxxx all the haters! I agree Daniel because a lot of people want you to be something that your not and if you stay in your own lane life will get better.
DeleteI also agree with Daniel. F*** the hatorade!
DeleteA very wise man once said “It takes courage to grow up''.There are many different meanings, .” This quote has means that you have confidence and courage to become the person that you really want to become in life. You can not go through life being negative and not really trying anything

I totally agree with what you are saying. It takes a lot of courage to be the person you want to be and that people should stay positive when they try and figure out who they are.
DeleteIt takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~e.e. Cummings. That quote means to do whatever the F*** you got to do to grow up. Growing up, I have come to realize the importance of bringing my best self forward. Part of that involves taking care of my health. My strategy is to make being healthy fun! One of my ways of staying fit is my involvement in various types of dance. I also enjoy things such as skating, swimming and playing basketball. When it’s a nice day outside, I walk my dog while listening to music just to get a little exercise. With me being so active, it is also important to maintain adequate rest and have regular visits to the doctor. By watching my parents strive for a healthy lifestyle, it inspires me to do the same.
ReplyDeleteI am very ambitious about what I want to accomplish in life. My mom always says, “Do what you have to do now, so you can do what you want to do later.” By this I mean studying hard, getting good grades, staying active in extra-curricular activities, and doing all the things that make you a better person. I have always had a heart for helping people, so when I grow up I would like to pursue a career in the medical field. With this goal in mind, I am determined to enroll into a great medical school and fulfill my dreams.
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” e.e. Cummings once said. This quote can mean a lot of things. But to me this quote is saying you don’t know who you are until you stand up and really think what do I like or don’t like not what do they like or not like. The people we hang around are going to have influence on who we are but if we just agree with what those people say all the time we aren’t ourselves, we are just basically clones of those people. Sometimes it can be hard to be ourselves because of a lot of reasons. Maybe we just don’t like ourselves, or we are scared to be ourselves. But that’s where the courage comes in because we need to stick up for who we are and be proud of it. We all are different and we need to accept that and not try to be like everyone else. Sometimes staying with the crowd is safe and a good thing, but other times its pretty stupid cause we aren’t going to die if we all don’t like Sprite. Plus being an individual is a lot more fun the just being like the kid next to you. Same is safe but different is interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis quote reminds me of a show I watch called Parks and Recreations. One of the main characters named Ann use to like turn into who ever she was dating. She dated someone named Andy, who was in a rock band and wore a lot of lose clothes and during that season she was all into wearing flannels and really like rock music. Then she dated a cowboy and wore a cowboy hat around a lot. Then she date a guy who like to work out a lot and had a bunch of exercise equipment. But soon someone pointed out to her that she does that and she realized it was true. Then she didn’t even know what food she liked. So she sold everything she got because of her boyfriends and stop dating to discover who she was. She said no to every guy who asked so she could discover who she was. This quote reminds of that show cause it took courage for her to look back at her relationships and admit that she does that. And once she discovered that she change to learn who she really is.
I agree with your response. I agree with what you said about it being hard to be ourselves. That makes a lot of sense to me. I've always had trouble trying to be myself because of anxiety problems. Anyways, keep up the good work!
DeleteI wise person, named e.e. Cummings, once said, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” This quote could mean many different things to many different people. What I think this quote means is that becoming a grown up adult isn’t as easy and simple as it looks. Kids think that becoming a stable and considerate adult is the most simplest thing ever. It really isn’t what they think it is. It is way more complicated than it looks. You have to live with living on your own and getting a good job and make money. You also have to also have to deal with taxes and scams with your money. And when it comes to the point whether or not you’re going to have children. If you do choose to have children, you have to worry about raising them while trying to keep up with the other things like taxes and your job. It may look simple, but coming out of someone’s mouth is a different story. That is what I think the quote by e.e. Cummings means personally.
ReplyDeleteIf I could relate this quote to a book or movie, I would relate it to a movie that the title name has slipped my mind. It was about these kids that had to become adults and get jobs while their parents were out of town. They thought it had been the easiest thing in the world, but when they started to work, it turned out to be way harder than it looked. One of them ended up having to steal money from their supervisor, just so they could afford what they could while their parents were out of town. They ended up getting into a lot of trouble and had to give back every penny they took. The parents ended up finding out as well and had their kids keep their jobs to help pay it off. In the end, I’m sure the kids learned their lessons and realized that becoming an adult isn’t the easiest and most simple thing in the world. Just so everyone else knows, growing up isn’t the best thing in the world. Stay a kid as long as you possibly can. Until then, prepare yourself for the upcoming future. Anyways, that is what I think e.e. Cummings means by his quote, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
The inspiring quote “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” was stated by the intelligent e.e. Cummings. I think his quote means that you have to be confident to achieve your goals. Some people never achieve their goals because they cared too much about what other people thought about them. You have to be strong in life to achieve everything you want too and be who you want to be. If you don't then you'll just end up regretting it the whole rest of your life. Now who would want to be that miserable.
ReplyDelete“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” Was a great quote spoken by e.e. Cummings. I think this quote means that to be yourself you have to be brave. a lot of people today are mean to others because of small things and it makes other people not want to be themselves. Because of this most people dont grow up to be who they want to be and they arent happy with their life. You have to be confident so that you can reach your goals and do what you want to do with your life. I can relate to this because I want to be a good business person when im older and in order to be good at business you have to have a good personality. i try to be the best person i can be so that when i go into business people will like me and i will succeed. I have to have the courage to be able to be myself in my work field so that I can do good. I can relate this quote to the character Scout Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. For a lot of the book Scout didn't like herself because people made fun of her at school for her father. Her family made fun of her because she didnt act like a girl. She tried her best to be herself but sometimes she got sad because other people didn't like who she was. But Atticus teaches her to be brave and be herself and to have the courage to do that. I think it's a good lesson to teach because if people arent acting themselves they arent happy. Just because someone doesnt like you doesnt mean you should dislike the way you are or try to change for that person. People just judge others without thinking about the consequences or how it could affect that person. You have to ignore when people are making fun of you for things that dont matter and focus on being yourself. If you dont be yourself and have the courage to be the person you really are then youll never really be happy with life. I think this quote is very important and teaches an important lesson and I think it's a good thing to teach young kids because then they will be happy.
ReplyDeleteWhat E.E Cummings meant by, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are” was that it is not easy to just grow up and you must have the maturity to. If you really want to be who you wish to be you must prove your maturity to others around you. People will think that when you are younger that you are not mature enough to do this or not old enough to understand or help with. The reason behind that is because people around you will not know if you are truly mature to handle what they think might be too much for you to handle. This is why if you want to have your own self-image you must prove it through courage to grow up and become the one goal that you wanted to set for your future. Some people may ask curiously how growing up involves courage in any way? Well one example of this can be in school when you want to raise your hand but too afraid to if you might get it wrong. To have courage in class, you must have the bravery to raise your hand if you know the right answer. Some people are too nervous to even raise their hand to begin with because they might not have the confidence or know the right answer for the question. Another good example would be if you are at a party and your friend is drunk wondering if he could be able to drive you both home. Where courage takes place in this example to the courage and bravery to speak up to your friend and you make the better decision for the both of you and the safest one too. Most people are not the brave and don’t say their own possible opinion. This can make you who you really are because then it will give you that trustworthy image that most people will think of you. That includes friends to your friends can have the feeling of you being grown up with courage and trustworthy so that when it comes to projects or homework they can always rely on you. This quote can relate to me because I had grown up by have courage for many things from the past. Like not being as socially awkward as I used to be. I have enough confidence in myself now to be who I am and accept it. If someone doesn't like it I don't care anymore.
