ReplyDeleteI feel that the quote "Be who you are an say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who don't mind don't matter" once said by Dr. Seuss means that you should speak with an open mind an feel your own way about certain things. I feel this way because you don't always have to feel the same way as someone else an it shouldn't matter to you what the think of it. He is basically saying do your own thing an don't let anyone's choices change your decision or make you second guess yourself.
ReplyDeleteOne way this relates to something else is experience was when Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder resigned with "Nike" instead of picking "Underarmour" like most people thought he would have! This relates cause he didn't care what other people thought he should have done he did what he thought was right, he didnt second guess himself one bit. He stayed with the company he started with. This is one of the many life examples I can think of relating to what Dr. Seuss once said "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter". But yes I do this is a great quote overall, thanks to Ms. Bocchino for picking this one this week :)
I totally agree with Chris you should not let anyone tell you what to think or sway your decision. And i know that it happens a lot because we are young and dumb and in high school. So be cause of peer pressure we sometimes let others sway our design so we fit in. Also we feel we need to sway our decision so we don't lose our friends.
DeleteI think that basically what Dr. Seuss is stating. . Is that we the people should speak our minds and not let anyone talk down to us. Or don't be a follower be you.. Because you only have one life... Be yourself.. You don't want to have to regret anything or let someone else make you second guess yourself... Its a stupid way to spend your life.. Worrying about what others think or other peoples decision choose your life.. The world has change so much nowadays. People bite their tounge. And some just don't bother.. Don't speak or whatever 😂😂😂😂😂😌😌😌 I don't know..

Sometimes what people can,say can be mindful sometimes.. People should bite their tounges. Not everyone has words of wisdom.. Dr suess sure DID though ✔💯💯💯

I agree with you a lot. first off I understand where you are going when you say that we shouldn't be a follower we should "keep it real" in the sense that we need to be our self. We shouldn't be so outgoing that we may put some other people feeling's down and not even now it. I also agree whit you when you talk about people biting their tounges because lets be honest most people don't care about any negative comments you have to say. That is what I inferred about your quote.
DeleteI agree with you one hundred percent, Kanisha. People really don't speak their minds as much anymore. At least, not as much as they used to. Most of us are so afraid of what others think, but what does it matter? At the end of the day people who try to stop you from voicing your opinion are no better than you. In fact, they're worse, and the majority of them know it deep down. And what's the worst people can do to us? Outcast us? Ridicule us? Not everyone will, and just like it says in the quote, the people who will do so aren't worth it. Unfortunately, though, a lot of people seem unable to see this line of reasoning, because they're so busy worrying about what other people think of them that they don't stop and think about how petty a pointless popularity contest is.
DeleteThis quote is very inspirational. I believe this because this quote means that you shouldn't care what people say about you. All you have to care about is the ones that don't mind your looks and just like you for personality. This also tells us that if people really care about you they won't mind what you look like or even act like. The people who do mind aren't really the right people to hang around with or be with.
ReplyDeleteThis quote relates to my life because when I was younger I had a love for one video and this video was a language video. When we had show and tell for your favorite item I brought that in and people made fun of me. When I went home that day and I cried I didn't cry at school but I cried at home because of these kids. They said that I was different but when I went home I told my mom what happened and she told me to not let those kids words get to me and not to let them hurt me mentally. She also told me to don't care what those others kids think about you just like what you like and be yourself. Went in the school the next day with their words and their chants but I shrugged it off. This quote means a lot to me because of that day because that day I learned to be myself and not someone who others want me to be.
The quote "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" said by Dr. Suess is very inspirational in many ways. It essentially means that people's opinions on what you do shouldn't effect you in any way. The only opinion that matters is yours and what you think. Don't let people put you down for doing something you love or like doing. Criticism can be useful like constructive criticism, but there's also when people criticize or make fun of you for doing something you enjoy to do or play.
ReplyDeleteMy friend liked playing this one game in 2nd grade, can't remember the name, but people made fun of him for it. I thought it was fun and enjoyable but everyone else I guess thought it wasn't good or thought it was childish. I didn't know why they did but I thought it was a mean thing to do. I enjoyed the game myself, I just told him to ignore them and it worked. Just ignoring all the negative things people said didn't matter once he ignored them. That quote relates to that situation pretty well in my opinion and I learned how do deal with criticism in our everyday lives.
I agree with you. We face people that criticizes us everyday just for something they don't like and that shouldn't matter to us. If we like what we are doing we should just keep doing it regardless of what people say. It is okay to have an opinion it is just the way you express it. Some people may take it the wrong way and others may agree. People should just watch they way they say things because it can change a persons whole mood and confidence. like you said your friend loved playing this game that others didn't like. He could of believed them and never played that game again and felt bad about himself, but instead he just brushed off what people said and continued doing what he like too.

I think that it means that your true friends matter because they don't mind if you’re lazy, skinny, smart...etc. They also don't mind if you speak your mind twenty four hours a day seven days a week. In addition, the quote also says if someone truly does care about you they like you for you and you should not change for those who don’t. The quote said by the literary legend Dr.Suess also says”…those who mind don’t matter.” To me this means that if someone only cares about the fact you’re short, fat, ugly…etc. We’ll news flash high school there not your friend because if they mind they don’t matter. Plus, if they mind about your opinion then just don’t talk to them because I personally believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and no one has the right to deny you that opinion. I think this quote means that you can be who you are no matter what anyone says and the people who don't mind who you are, matters to you and the people who mind doesn't matter to you. This is a great quote because it basically means be who you no matter what anybody thinks. This quote relates to me because I be myself no matter what any single person says or thinks. This quote relates to me because some people don't accept who they are and they act like a totally different person but some people act like them selves, like me and that's the right thing to do because if you act fake you will never know who likes you for you. Also, another reason this quote relates to me is because I act completely real and people who mind don't matter to me but the people who don't mind, matter to me.

People who mind will always find a way to bother you. So what you said is the meaning to Dr.Seuss's quote and I agree to what you said
DeleteWhen Dr. Suess said, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter," he meant that we should be ourselves, regardless of what others think of us. He meant that being true to thine self is better for you in the long run than being a people pleaser, which is most definitely true. When you're old and dying, what memories do you want to comfort you? Do you want to remember always letting other people walk all over you and backing down when an insolent individual challenges you, or do you want to remember holding your ground by sticking up for yourself and others? I favor the latter personally. I'm not afraid to express my opinion and say what I think (although since I have an INTP personality, expressing emotions has always been a weakness for me) and if other people have a problem with it, I feel nothing towards them but apathy. I used to be more of a conformist when I was younger, but have since learned that if you want to lead a happy life, you have to please yourself, as well as other people. Although it is a positive thing to help others out and you shouldn't always be looking out for just yourself, you also need to consider your needs, which are equally important. I thought this was an excellent quote that I certainly agree with, and it sounds similar to my philosophy on life. In my opinion, more people need to be themselves instead of what others want them to be. If people were more individualistic, the world, would be a far better place. People would think more about contributing to society than about looking cool and such.

So say what you feel, but those who do mind they dont matter to you. They will always have a resaon to mind. People like you should just let go and not pay attention to them, because they will lead you to the wrong path. If you keep on minding there busniess you will get hurt.

So when Dr.Suess quotes "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter dont mind and those who mind dont matter." He's telling the truth.

These is because many people can’t mind their own business and feel that it is right to control other people into doing what they want and put them down just because of their hair, shoes, make up, clothing, them wanting you to do something etc... That is why Dr.Seuss says “those who mind don’t matter,” because you shouldn’t pay any mind to them because like Dr.Seuess said they don’t matter. But then there are good people in the world that don't care what you do or what you look like they don’t mind anything about you the just except/let you be the way you are, and that is who Dr.Seuss was referring to when he said "those who matter don't mind." That is what I inferred about this quote.

For example in my school everyone is trying to peer pressure each other into drugs, trends, gangs, fights, sports or whatever cause they want the person to do. Not saying I’m perfect because I had peer pressured many people before and I’m sad to say but I have put peoples feeling down many times before, but who could say they never did before? That’s just a couple examples I came up with from Dr.Seuss quote.
Like entirely agree with you mike! That is basically what it means... People who don't matter try to put you down, by making fun of your size, height, clothes, hairline, the way you look, etc....and that's basically what you mean. I'm not going to lie, I have put a persons feelings down, not on purpose but I completely regret doing it. Like you said mike people who don't care what you look like and stuff actually matter. I don't think the people who put people down are bad people, I think they're just trying to act cool and are insecure about themselves so they have to put someone down. So I completely agree with your statement.

I don't think people should pay attention to other people they should worry about them selves more than they worry about other people. This is a very inspiring quote and the message it's trying to give is to be yourself and not care what anyone thinks of it. When he says those who don't mind matter, he means that your friends will be by your side in any situation. When he says the people mind don't matter he's talking about the people who watch everything you do and judge you for it. I live by this quote today because it has become a part of me. In the fifth and sixth grade I was bullied for liking sonic the hedgehog. At first I thought a lot of people were my friends but they just used me for their own amusement. Then I met my friend Elijah Jimenez. He saw the good in me and didn't care how I looked or the way I was or what I was interested in. He saw me as a good friend and we are still the best of friends to this day. Starting in seventh grade, people still made fun of me a little bit but then I realized that I shouldn't care what they think of me, I should only care about how my friends think of me. That's how I've been living the past two years and I'm still going strong! Thanks to everyone who's always been there for me!

Also, when you say the people who mind are just people who judge you on what hobbies you have. I believe that is a perfect interpretation of the quote said by Dr Suess. I think that this quote means a lot to everyone in a way. This quote has probably happened in everyones life. I think this quote means that dont try to be someone else be who you are. The people the care will always be there for who you are and if they are not then they aren't your true friend. I have always had people there for me but it's most likely because I'm not who I am. This quote means a lot to me actually because I have a personal life story. I always tried to be the best that I can be to impress people and I realized I wasn't getting as much attention as I wanted to be getting. I was acting like someone else and I think this is the reason why I don't get as much attention as I would like. I started to act like myself and people treated me different. I was treated with a little bit more respect and I actually gained more friends. I also started to get more attention because I wasn' trying to be the kid that everyone else is I was being me. I feel that if you are trying to be someone you are not real. Being fake you will get less friends and oppurtunities to do other stuff like other people are doing. It's like you are playing two different people when you should be playing one. I had to learn this the hard way so I hope that since I am acting different I will get more friends and a lot more attention. I can defintely relate to this quote becaue it has personally happened to me. If I was myself for the first time I probably wouldn't have to deal with all of the problems I'm going through now. This quote is so inspiring to me and I would also say lots of other people to. This quote means to me that the people in your life that are close to you will like you for who you are, and they won’t mind what you say. Because they like you for you, not just your opinion. ReplyDeleteThis quote can relate to many things and people. When I here this quote the person who comes in to my mind is Justin Bieber. He hasn't been making very good decisions lately but he has very supportive fans. His true fans have stayed with him through all the bad decisions he has made. A lot of them may not agree with the decisions he made, but they still believed in him and accepted him mistakes and all. The other people in his life don’t believe in him at all just because of his actions lately. Those are the people he shouldn’t focus on. Let them say what they want because he knows he still has millions of fans that are supportive of him.
