What do you
think about social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)? Does it sometimes
infringe on our privacy without our knowledge? How does social media benefit
us? Has social media changed the way we
communicate? If yes, is it for the better or worse?
Social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, vine, and more are great thing to find out more about someone but also a bad thing because sometimes we know more then we should. Social media accounts can cause a lot of bulling and more hate or discrimination. This can also cause people to loose valuable assets such as spelling and grammar. People use (brb,lol,lmfao,ttyl,rotfl, so on and so forth.) With this in mind people will forget what is relay needed.
ReplyDeletePeople have created these sights to try to focus our minds on stuff that dosnt madder so we dont know what is going on in the real world.
Worse because now people dont go outside as much. Also people can get bullied on social media . People getting bullied on the internet is called cyber bullying. it also helps cause now u can call your friends and text your friends. But some social media can cause obeasity.
ReplyDeleteMany people believe that a social media is a way to share their feelings.I on the other hand believe that a social media is like a prison,because it takes away most of our productive time.When you have a social media account you always feel obliged to check it and once you are on it its very hard to get off of it.A social media can be handy though.Although a social media sucks away your life its a good way to keep in contact with all of your close family and friends.
ReplyDeleteSocial media have been around for a couple decades now and has drastically changed the 20th century. Over thousands of people use social media everyday and now depend on it because it is a ritual,but does it expose our privacy? I believe that people are not aware that when they share and post something on social media it is forever and everyone can see it.Despite the social medias attempt to warn us that this does happen and that anyone can view what you post,we ignore it,thinking that privacy settings will conceal what we post.On the other hand, privacy settings can be easily looked over by someone wanting to see what you post. Social media can also benefit us though.We can connect with people and easily find information. We can easily communicate with one another and look into your friends lifes,knowing more about them. ReplyDeleteSocial media can be a very important thing in peoples lives and also it can change the way we communicate and talk to each other. Many people use social media and it affects the way they spell in school, for example (lol, bbl, brb and many other "slang words"). Social media can also make people more friends, and it is a big way for bullies to cyber bully people.
ReplyDeleteSocial media benefits us positively by people texting each other homework assignments and they can do group assignments over the phone. Social media also gives us people to associate with in school and people to do projects with because you are friending/following people. Another way social media is good is because people can ask questions and get help from fellow peers over social media.
Social media also has a negative side and that is the fact of cheating on tests or assignment. People can easily take their phone out and send a message in seconds
What I think about social media is that it is ruining the way we communicate with people. Instead of going to meet someone in person, people would rather stay at home and talk over instagram. Social media no doubt interferes with our privacy because it allows random people to see our pictures, if you don't apply the privacy settings. Yet social media does benefit us because while it prevents people from meeting in person to chat, it is still much easier to chat over the site. We communicate different because of social media, people tend to shorten words and not use full sentences while chatting online, such as "ty" or "ttyl".
ReplyDeleteUsing them to often can also result in addiction, all people will want to do is stay inside all day on these sites. Although you can make yourself private on Instagram, a stalker may pretend to be someone else and you let them follow you, so your never safe. All in all these websites can be dangerous and bad for people, yet I still use them daily.

ReplyDeletebecause we not only can stay in touched with friends. But we can also know about celebrity's, what's going on in the world. It benefits us by showing what's happening all around the world. Without technology I wouldn't be doing this blog entire for a grade. I think it does benefit a lot for teens, and adults. I do think it has changed the way we as people communicate. I think its for the worse that people communicate between texts or twitter, because you don't know there tone when they are saying something. I think talking in person is a good way that can solve problems, rather than disagreeing with some behind there phone or computer screen. I think it is also good thing to because you can stay in touch with a lot of your friends. I think how kids use the social media these days, are very revealing of privacy. I think we as a whole, can not go without our phones cause that's what kids and adults are attached to. Working you're on a phone, vacation people are on there phones. Including me as a teenager we are always on our phones.

Sometimes kids only use it to see what people are doing or to contact people which in my opinion is perfectly fine. Yes sometimes the internet does infringe on peoples privacy but if you didn't want that to happen you shouldn't have made anything on social media .when you put stuff on the internet nothing is ever private there is always someone who can see everything you put on there nothing is ever a secret.How does social media benefit us? social media benefits us in different way. like if you wanna hangout with a friend you can just talk to them on social media. or if you need something you can look on social media for it.It benefits us in both good and bad ways.
ReplyDeleteSocial media can ruin a kids life so it's not always a good thing for kids to be on it 24/7.kids should be out having fun getting in trouble now being on the web all the time. It's not kid for kids health to be on the web all the time or something like that I think.
DeleteI think social media does infringe on our privacy without our knowledge because on Facebook and other social medias are able to suggest people that you know or like with only having very little information. Social media makes it easy to contact friends keep up to date on things and you can even get some useful information and news. Social media has changed the way to communicate by making everything text and being able to have huge conversations without even talking. Social Media is probably for the worst even though it does have some really good uses if we keep just using text talking may become irrelevant.

For example, Instagram is a app where you can post pictures and express yourself. Also your friend might live far far away, and social media helps keep in touch. Twitter and Facebook can help you meet more people ,and also express your self. I dont think at all it infringes your privacy. If you dont want it to invade or ruin your privacy then dont get the apps, but in my opinion social media is a amazing thing. It has changed the way we communicate. It changed be cause no people talk in slang and abbreviates words. For example Laugh out loud is "lol". Got to go is "gtg" and so on. But yes, social media has impacted alot of peoples vocabulary and way we communicate now a days. But even though social media is a great thing we have, the way that it changed our actions is not good for collages and future jobs.

ReplyDeleteI think social media is a wonderful thing. I think this because it helps us better communicate with the world. It does infringe with our privacy sometimes because if someone gets on your account or hacks it. But if u send a letter someone can open it. The social media benefits us by how easy it makes our lives. It does this by making it easier to talk to people and send pictures instead of putting them in the mail. It has changed how we communicate by making sending everything faster and easier. It also saves money on stamps and envelopes. It is for the better, but every once in awhile it will fail.

But with social media it takes away our time to do fun activities. We are always on our phone, we cant go a day with out checking your phone. social media can lead up to many problems. it can lead to cyber bullying or bullying in general. social media sometimes does go into your privacy. it can lead to problems where you can get hurt. privacy is a big thing now because they can steal your personal information.

DeleteI think that social media today is both bad and good for us. It is always keeps us looking down at our phones instead of enjoying life. We don't see what is going on in life because we are to busy looking at our phones or computers. It does infringe in our privacy. Other people can see things that we don't want them to. Like with personal pictures people can see them that we don't want to.
ReplyDeleteWe can block certain people from seeing our personal things but you are not able to block everyone. You may think that some people arent seeing it but more people are seeing it than u think. Social media benifits us by letting us keep in touch with family that you dont see very often. Also if you have friends that move away. You can use social media to see what they look like now then when you last saw them. It also doesnt benifit us because it keeps us inside and looking at our phones and computers instead of going outside and playing games.Social media changed the way we communicate by instead of going to see your friends in person. You just text them or tweet them. I think that it is worse for us the way it changed the way we communicate. That is what i think about social media.

ReplyDeleteI think that social media is a waste of time because instead of tweeting or posting some one you should just go talk to them face to face to really under stand how there feeling. I also think its bad because kids and young adults can use social media to post nasty pictures or comments better known as cyber bullying. It also causes child obesity because children don"t know when to get off there phones or computers. Some times your profile can be hacked into and people could say stuff you didnt or post nasty pictures.
ReplyDeleteMost kids just spend to much time on social media that they dont really do much of anything else.For those kids its just a distraction causing no home work to be done or house hold chores. All social media causes drama lots and lots of drama. This evil thing called social media can end friend ships and relation ships. One day social media will so advanced that, thats all we will be doing and robots will take over the wold. and the atmespher will be to filled with carbendioxcyed that we will have to leave earth and find a new planet.

No I don’t think it infringes on our privacy because people will post what they want and if they don’t want you to see it they can make their profile private or they can just simply block you. Social media benefits us by us connecting with other people and us putting out our own opinion. It also benefits us by maybe if someone likes something you can comment you like it too. Yes social media has changed the way we communicate. It changes the way we communicate by us either being nice to the people we like or worse to the people we do not like. ReplyDeleteSocial media also benefit us by us being able to contact our own family or friends or bosse's for work. It connects us with people that could be all over the world and now social media allows us to video chat or send pictures of one an other. It's also another way to see what's going on near you or around the whole world. Also social media benift's us by us being able to get what we think about something trending around us or even around the world.

DeleteI think social media has definitely helped our society a lot. For instance, I believe that social media has truly helped our society and helped a lot of people, in many different ways. The internet has help charities gain millions of dollars because of their worldwide famous spread and challenges, as an example, the ice bucket challenge. This challenge is helping support the ALS foundation and this charity, as of the worldwide spread, has gained about $35 million dollars and it has gained awareness. This challenge is supposed to make you feel like the people who have actually been diagnosed with ALS. This worldwide spread has made many people happy including me.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason social media has influenced the world is because of a special man named Tyler Oakley. He raised half a million dollars for a suicide hotline for all ages to help them get through their lives. Without the internet this honestly wouldn't have been possible. In addition i am also very happy to announce that i also donated $50 to "The Trevor Project". I believe people should stop bashing social media and realize the good that's come from it, because i believe it's more than the bad.
What I think about social media is that it is a terrible thing that is ruining the way we communicate with one another on a daily basis. It makes us become anti social and turns people inside out from talking and socializing, to becoming introverts and ignoring one another in the corner of a dark room. When people use instagram, facebook, and twitter etc. people can become very mean to each other, since they are not face to face with who they are talking to, and they cant see what their reaction will be.

Having a private account is an advantage if you would not like someone following you without your permission, stalking you, or seeing what you post. The wonderful social media benefits us tremendously, first of all, it is an excellent way to meet a lot of new people, talk to your friends and family and even find your long lost friends from years ago. One down fall social media has is that it changed the way we communicate. Facebook, Instagram ,Twitter etc… all have many things in common but the way it changed communication is a big one. People in this generation are so used to talking on the internet that you could talk to someone for years and not even know what their voice sounds like. Also, since social media, it seems that there is more drama, and internet fights, fighting on the web is much easier than going up to someone and saying it to their face so it starts a lot of drama in schools. This is what my opinion of social media is.
