Today's question is...
What do you
think about social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)? Does it sometimes
infringe on our privacy without our knowledge? How does social media benefit
us? Has social media changed the way we
communicate? If yes, is it for the better or worse?
I think that social media is a great invention. It makes life so much fun. Its a better way to communicate with people from all over the world. It also helps people be themselves. Social media is an escape for people who suffer from in school bullying. I believe it does infringe with our privacy without our knowledge. The government goes through phone calls, emails, photos etc. I believe that it is not right to go through over privacy. The government does not have a right to go through over pictures and emails. The government says that it is for our protection but I don’t really think it is. Why would you announce that you will be reading emails, photos etc. when now terrorist that live in the U.S can stop communicating over those platforms. Social media benefits our generation so much. Technology is getting smarter and smarter every day. Communicating got way more advanced in the past 10 years. It is to much easier to communicate with family and friends over seas and in different country because of social media. I believe that social media is for the better. It can be used for some negative ways but mostly positive ways. In conclusion, I believe that social media was a great creation.
ReplyDeleteI do think social media sometimes infringes our privacy. anyone in the world can see what you post or what you're doing. but you can also put you settings for social media websites on private. but if not people can infringe on our privacy. you can have no idea who is looking at your instagram, twitter, etc.. other than that social media is a great way to communicate with friends and family. you can follow professional athletes and see what they do on a daily basses. from following people in instagram you can see all different parts of world on other peoples eyes. I think it is better for the world. without social media this generation would be very different. the older generation might say its bad for teens cause they just sit on there computer all day long but the parents should push there kids to go out and do sports and be healthy. as long as you don't sit on your phone and computer all day long I do not believe social media is bad. I like being able to see what my friends and family post. I also like following pro surfers and seeing pictures of waves from all over the world.
ReplyDeleteWhats my opinion on social media? I believe its nothing but a good idea gone wrong. Yes, its interesting and allows you to connect with people and talk to friends but also causes many problems! For instance, there's always people arguing over topics of what people write and post. Like how someone can make a post about them expressing their religion but yet some atheist or a believer of another religion has to leave a comment either trying to prove them wrong or just all out hate that person because they believe in another religion just for something as such as a small post on the internet about how they love their belief. Now that is one of many things wrong about social media, There are people that post inappropriate things also, which allows our youth to see and then corrupts them to become bad children. So, is social media a good or bad thing? I say its what you make of it. You can either use it for connecting with friends or post friendly things, or use in a negative way and use it for hate messages and uncalled for debates. Which these days is what the case is now. So my answer is yes and no, social media does not benefit anyone as much as it once did, yet there are people out there that use it for good too. That's my opinion.
ReplyDeletesocial media sometimes does infringe on our privacy without our knowledge. you could be playing a game on your phone, but at the exact same moment someone could be making a fake you! Social media can benefit us. Say you don't have your home work. You can go on instagram or face book or twitter and you could ask someone for the homework.
ReplyDeleteSocial media did change the way we communicate. Back than you had to write letters to people. Now you can just text or email anybody for information. Or like in school you can go on your portal and look at whats missing or, how your grades are. Its better for us because if It was my birthday I would want to get a text or message saying happy birthday that day not in a week or so.
Social Media has been around for awhile and pretty much a lot of people have Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. But it could sometimes infringe on our privacy without our knowledge. When your on social media, everybody could see what you post. It could put everyone's privacy in danger and could get you in a lot of trouble for posting something bad.
ReplyDeleteThere are some ways that social media benefits us. If you want to know where your friends or relatives are, you could look on their profile to know where they are going. Also, it could give us something to do. On social media we could keep up with all the news that is happening. We could also talk to our friends if we want to know where they will be at or what time they will be at a place. I think social media hasn't changed the way we communicate because we could still talk on the phone to them.
In my opinion, I think its for the better because pretty much everybody in the world has a social media account and it gives us something to do. I really like social media and i'm glad its around and fun to do.
what I think about social media is actually pretty cool. its a fun way to share stuff with all your friends and family. when im bored I go on there and just look at the stuff that people post. sometimes people post the funniest things on facebook or they post the funniest pictures on instagram. sometimes people just post really dumb things. sometimes people post every single thing they do on facebook or instagram and it gets annoying sometimes. some people post a lot but they have like funny pictures or posts and I like laughing at stuff like that. if its funny then I don't mind it but if youre just posting about everything youre doing every second then it annoys me. im pretty sure other people find it annoying too but yeah I think all the social media is great. everyone can use a laugh every now and then

My thoughts about social media is that it has some benefits but can also come back to haunt you. Social media can help us get to know people cause we can see the pictures a person posts or tweets and that could be helpful to people who have social anxiety. Now its easier for us to communicate online then in person. It also helps us by not making us as bored cause we can just go on all the sites to keep us busy. But with all the new technology its easy to get onto these sites but at our age we think we know everything and it doesn't matter what we post/write on social media. When we get older though we will be going to job interviews and the person interviewing us will most likely look us up on the internet and would be able to see the stupid things we did cause we don't think about how posting a picture could affect us in the long run. Cause once we post something online it never goes away. Social media can also invade privacy cause we may think that only our friends can see but more people will be able to see it. So in conclusion My opinion on social media is it has good and bad things about it.
ReplyDeleteSocial media in my opinion is very helpful and makes communication easier and faster.Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have our personal information like where we live and our birthday but it only has it so other people can see, they don't invade our privacy. It helps people communicate with each other and share pictures instantly. It has a huge impact on the way we communicate with each other because you can easily talk to ur friends and family and post pictures for them to see as well as other people.If you were to go to another country you can easily talk to your friends and family no matter where you are.Social media makes communicating with people way easier and has changed the way we talk to each other for the better, but there is also some downsides to it.What ever you say or post on social media can be used against you it could be a picture u post or something u say about someone else.All in all social media makes communicating and sharing pictures easier and faster making it very helpful no matter where you are.
ReplyDeleteI think that social media is a good thing. We get to react socialize with our friends and their pages. We get to see what goes on with them in their lives. Yes sometimes we get hate or spammed on our accounts and not even know about it. So yes it does sometimes infringe on our privacy without our knowledge.
ReplyDeleteSocial media benefits us because it is a passage way to interact and meet new people. This is like when someone and another person like the same thing. We get to learn about other people. It has changed the way that we communicate. Instead of talking and seeing in person you can text or email people at random. This is both good and bad for us. Its good that we communicate and socialize and learn more about people and different culture. But at the same time most of the times you do not know who you are talking to. For example they could be a hacker, a serial killer, and all the other bad kinds of people. There are a lot of bad things that happen. I'm saying that some people need to be careful of who they are talking to.
Social media has a big impact on the way that the teenagers live there life. This infringes on our personal life without us knowing. Especially when your profile is not on private. If you are not in private then anybody can see you. Weird people can just take our pictures without us knowing and then use it to find us or make a fake profile. They can find out where you live and try to do bad things to you.
ReplyDeleteSocial media benefits a lot of people. This happens because they get to talk to friends and see what is happing in other peoples lives that they know. Also, this benefits people because they can find there assignment online if they forgot it. Social media changed they way most people communicate to. This is because when people talk on Titter or Facebook or Instagram they only have to message each other. Now texting is not as used because o social media messaging. This is probably for the worse because now kids are glued to there phone and social media is all they do. Social media took over everybody and in the end it is going to be bad. This could be really bad especially if this whole social media thing grows.
What's my opinion on social media? My opinion is that all these social media websites are a good way to show people what you are like. People can show the personality the same way I'm responding to this question, they can type their thoughts. Most of the time that's not how people interpret the meaning of as social media network. They thinks it's a place for profanity and bad things they think they are cool for doing. Social media is not for all of that kind of things. It is for being social with people you can't talk to face to face at the time. That is why social networks are called "SOCIAL" networks. Either way I feel that it sometimes infringes my privacy because random people could go on your profile and find out things about you. Social media can also benefit in a lot of ways also. Like if your is on vacation and you need to talk to them you can always reach them through social media networks. Social media has defiantly changed the way I communicate with people. I can talk to my friends who are out of state. I feel it is better then other forms of communication. Other the texting.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion on social media is that it is kind of taken over the world. It has gotten to the point where people are always on their phones and computers because they think they have nothing better to do, but there is a lot you could do. One example is that you can go outside or do a sport like I do field hockey I'm always running to stay in shape. Another thing social media does is take away almost all privacy. Like for job interviews your boss might check your Facebook to see what you post and more about you.
ReplyDeleteSocial media benefits us because it gives us an opportunity to talk to distant friends and family. For example your best friend moves away to California. You can still talk to them and share pictures and keep in touch. I think social media has kind of changed the way we communicate. This is because we abbreviate every thing because we are lazy. We also have different word slang. I don't think it's just good or bad just different. So in conclusion social media has pretty much taken over and there is not much we can do about it.
Social media helps informs us about our friends and family's life. It also has a big impact in teenagers lives. I feel social media sometimes infringes on our privacy without our knowledge. People could take your picture off one of your accounts and make another profile and act as you. I feel social media does benefit you in many ways. You can figure out what your friends are up to and also see what new things are trending. It also helps with adults , they can work for a social media and they can find work off of it. I feel social media has changed the community a lot since it came out. Instead of going to a store and asking for a job we can now go online and get a application there.
