  1. Paule Tournier once said “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.” I think this quote means that those who win always have their mind set on that goal. The people who don’t put their effort into their goal they most likely won’t succeed. If you want something bad enough you will learn to train and practice for it, if it is that important to them. At first they may not reach their goal but that will not stop them from trying. They will take their time on getting better and not rush to accomplish perfection in what they dream of doing. Having confidence and a good mindset will help them more than any kind of practice would. If you get it in to your head that your goal is not worth it or that you are not good at what you want to accomplish, that would lessen your motivation of doing what you want.
This quote can relate to my life in many different ways. One main incident that relates best to this quote is when I became the short stop for my softball team when our main short stop got hurt. When I first started softball I always played the outfield. I was not very good at all, I always wanted to play the infield on a travel team not a rec. team like the one I played on. As I got older I got better and finally made it onto a travel team. My first year started in the infield but was very good. As the seasons when on I got much better. On my Second travel team I played second for them for 2 and a half seasons. Then that was when our shortstop got hurt and the position I always wanted was finally open. I worked my butt off for that spot. I did not know when and if our player was coming back. While I was practicing for that spot I got hurt. I pulled muscles in my back and moved some vertebrae out of alignment. I thought I was going to be out the rest of the season. I went to therapy and doctors all the time just hoping I could just get back on the field with my team and be a help and not a burden. Once I was cleared to play I worked and trained as hard as I could to get that spot and I finally accomplished my goal. I have now been their shortstop for almost 3 seasons.

  2. The quote "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can" written by Paul Tournier means that if you put your mind to what you want to do in your lifetime you won't get held back by doubts or I can'ts. You will do everything you can to put yourself in the right position, once you do this and finally realize how far you have come you will want to do it all the time. Success, will and determination for the thing you want to do is like a drug, you can't live without it. Non-stop constantly working to get better your running like a chicken without a head. This quote relates to people who want to do big things in sports, school or even in life they won't stop until you get where you want to be.
This quote is one of my favorites Ms. Bocchino has picked for our class because this relates to my life completely with basketball. I started off playing in kindergarten I was one of the best from my town which wasn't such a big deal but I knew I could do something serious with it so I started doing crazy drills that my favorite point-guard at the time did Jason Kidd. I idolized him just like how kids idolize Lebron James and Stephen Curry now and days. I tried doing everything he did and learning everything he does and I did and I just started doing it better as I continued this process in games for AAU and Travel teams I became dominate and my skills were ahead of my age. Then middle school eventually hit and by this time I was thinking I was going to come in an start on the A-team but I didn't till mid-season because I had to prove myself and then 8th grade came and I was the go to guy, the main scorer the finisher whatever you wanted to call me I took over games we were unstoppable. We finished 11-1 last year, at the end of the season the all-star game came and I had 21 points lighting the score board up.. I put all this work in to get where I am today this is how this quote relates to me and how I personally see it.

  3. The quote "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." was said by Paul Tournier. This quote can mean many different things to a bunch of other people. The quote is very clearly self explanations but it's really inspirational and nice to hear. This quote means that if we have a positive attitude on things then we would have better outcomes in the long run. This quote is very meaningful and I think everyone should listen to this as well as take part in what the quote is saying. This quote should have a history with everyone and anyone. This quote has affected me more than some people but not many other people because some people have been through worse than others.
This quote has also affected my life in many ways. One of the most important ways are when I play video games this quote helps me to understand the situation in a different point of view instead of staying with the negative crowd I make my own way of doing things.()() When I go into a game on live I think to myself three things and they normally are, you are ready for anything, you have more experience than them, and you are going to win this one for all the other girl gamers. Even though I may play as a mincing guy gamer I am still a girl and no one can change that and I may play like anyone else but I always have a positive attitude when going into a new game because you have to be positive to win and if your not positive what's the fun in the game. After being involved in the game I may have difficulty beating the other players but in the end I am always the one getting the most kills for my team and all you hear through the microphone is ranting from the other team that we beat them. The one thing that relates this quote to my experiences is that I never lose hope that is the key ingredient to be successful and also to win is to try hard and never give up hope. The second you go and be negative you start losing hope in yourself and other people around you as well. When I play this quote affects the way I play and how I react to certain things that people do to me in the game. This quote is probably the most important thing that I can relate to easily and the other quotes we have done I can relate to but this one I can relate to most of all because it has affected me in the area I feel strongest about.

To me This Quote means that People Who constantly win will get used to it and eventually think their always going to win. So they are the people who are more confident with everything.. They think their capable and Can Do just about anything and be great at whatever it is. I have never really experienced anything like this because I don't really Play sports.. Or do much to say I've won at something constantly.. I actually have bad luck with everything.. Whether its trying to win prizes, tickets to concerts, or trying to win friends back.. I just can't win.. So no I cannot really relate but as for my dad.. He told me stories about how he won a lot of things in his childhood and got a little too confident.. And started to think he was always up to the challenge and could win just about anything.. This quote isn't necessarily a proven fact but its generally true because that's just how human beings are.. Except for me. 😩

    1. I completely agree on your point of view kanisha and total understand when you talk about People Who constantly win will get used to it and eventually think their always going to win. I say this because I can totally agree with it because we all know someone who has that mindset after winning. However I do not think you have ever experienced the meaning of the quote because in my opinion every one has to face something similar to the quote. Anyway good job on interpreting this quote.

  5. Paul Tournier's quote "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can," means to me that if you can think you can win you will win. for example my mom would always tell me "if u think you are going to lose u will lose however if you think you are going to win you will most likely win." she would always tell me this before an important sport game or test and I would always take it to hart so I can relate to this quote very well. Another example could be if you were losing every game u played but u kept being optimistic and thinking to yourself that you can do you will most likely succeed even if it takes years and years because if you think you will win sooner or later you will. An example of this would be in my opinion the tale of the tortoise and the rabbit. I think this because the tortoise kept a positive attitude and kept thinking he would win even though the odds were stacked ageist him and he eventually won the race. That is my interpretation of Paul Tournier's quote "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can."
Paul Tournier's quote "Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can," can also relate to real life situations. I can total relate to his in many ways. One way was when I was younger I would always play my uncle in a game of around the world in the park across from my house. And every game we played for about 4 to 5 years he would always win and that’s when I know I had to change my mind set so I had a chance of winning. So before we would play I would say stuff like “you can do it,” and “today is the day I win.” However I would still lose, but that never stopped me not once and it turns out a couple weeks later I won and kept winning since then. Another example I have was when I was just recently taking my mid-term exam for math and my mom telling me to think positive and you will get a good grade. And because of that I got the highest grade in my math class. That is how I can relate to Paul Tournier's quote.

    1. I agree with what you said and how you explained yourself. I also this that your examples were nicely tied into the topic. This quote was somewhat hard to do but I think you did very well. You had a great explanation of what the quote says. I also felt like what your mother told you is exactly what the quote is trying to say.

  6. What this quote means to me is that the people who set their minds to something that they can accomplish means that they are going to do it. When someone has determination in some that they wish to reach means that they are going to do everything that they can do to reach it. Everyone has a wish or a goal that they want to reach. "Those who win are those who thinks they can". This quote is good. If you have energy to do something or determination to accomplish your dreams and goals then you have no choice but to do it. If you are lazy and don't simply care about your goals then why wish to accomplish it if your are not putting forth the right effort. Only the people who wish to win and those who wish to get something out of their lives should be the ones to push themselves to get that dream that they wish to keep or get. This applies to everyone who wishes to get something done for themselves.

  7. Paul tournier once said" Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." This quote means that once you win you will eventually think you can win them all, some people win ONE game then think they can take on the world. This quote also means that sooner or later a winner will become cocky. I've been like that before, but I was confident not cocky there's a difference. What this quote means to me personally is that winners become cocky and then eventually lose, that's how it goes. I can relate to this quote because I sometimes say Ill give you the "sauce" in wrestling and then I get my ass beat. I still do it but I'm not cocky I'm just confident like I said up there^^. Being cocky is basically saying ima go out there and beat their ass, being confident is saying I'm going to go out there and try my hardest. That's how I am before wrestling matches, you win some you lose some you can't get cocky. When your cocky you end up losing that's basically what this quote means. That's what's the quote " Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." means, another good quote like always ms bocchino.

  8. The quote," Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can," is a very inspiring quote. This quote has helped me in many cases and as well as others. I think this quote means that if you win once you will think you can win all the time. I think this quote tells you to never give up on what u have lost or failed at. It makes you want to thrive and keep pushing for the goal. This has helped me think about not giving up because I used to always lose at almost everything I attempted. I think after I won for the first time it boosted my confidence to keep going which this quote implies. The quote was telling me that since I won, now in my head I will always think I can win which would lead me to strive to winning all the time. I get that you can't always win at everything you do but there is also a point that you need to start going for your goals rather than always thinking your not going to achieve them. I always thought when I did something I was going to automatically fail which in my case was wrong. I failed sometimes but the other times I pulled out on top and was able to do it. Since I kept my mind towards winning I always thought that i could win so most of the time I did win. So I think this quote has taught me through a couple of times during my life and told me I could win. For example, I always lost at a game I played and I didn't want to play it anymore because I knew I couldn't be it. After almost never playing the game again I put my mind to it and beat the level. I was happy and after I beat it for most of the rest of the game was me always winning. Since I didn't give up and thought I could win I did. I thought about this quote when I was playing and this is what made me strive to the winning spot instead of me always saying I was going to lose all the time. Therefor I think the quote," Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can," means that you have to go for the winning spot to put your mind to it so u always think u can win.

  9. there was once a man who said a very interesting quote. the quote stated," Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can." this was once said by Paul tournier. this was a very good quote. this quote has a good meaning towards it. im going to tell you what that meaning is. I think that this quote means is that people who keep winning at what they are good at they believe that they can achieve something greater. also those who win a lot and always. then they think they can win all the time. this quote can relate to my life because I was on the freshman football team. and we had a great team. we were winning every game until we finally got a little too cocky. we were playing st john vianney we thought that we were going to go out there and whoop some ass. but instead we got our ass's whooped. I knew the team and I weren't expecting to lose. but it happens you win some you lose some. so any ways after that we kept on winning. so we thought that we could do something higher. so we were thinking into the future. we thought our freshman team could win state champions when were seniors on varsity. that's some thing that I believe will happen.
