I think that you cant judge a persons intelagence or talent by telling them to do something there not good at or tell them to do something they werent made to do like the fish with the tree of coars it cant climb a tree that dosnt mean its not stupid. You cant judge a person by what they cant do you have to look at what they can do or look at what there good at not what there bad at. Like me you cant judge my physical ability by telling me to take twenty free throws and see how may go in because i absulutally suck at basketball but if you test me in swim ill blow you out of the water. So dont judge someone on what there bad at judge them on there good at because if you judge them on the bad theyll spnd there lives trying to get better at when they could spend that time getting better at what there already good at but better. Also dont judege at all because peoples fealings get hert and you wouldnt want it done to you so whaen you see a person in gym or in class try there best but fail tell them they put in a great effort and dont worry the first step of being kind of good at something is being sucky at another so always try your best at everything even if its hard.

But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.” by Albert Einstein means if you score or judge someone who is very good at football based on how good they are at Soccer or how far they they can hit a baseball there most likely going to look pretty bad at sports. It also means if your good at a lot of things and you get judged by what your bad at your going to feel stupid and bad at everything. An example of this is that is lets say your good at writing in letters but you get based on how good you are at drawing Hieroglyphics Your probably gonna feel like you can't write and think your bad at writing everything. Another example of this quote is literally said right in the quote. If you judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree it will feel stupid forever. A time when i could relate this quote to my life was when I was younger and even now I am really good Geography. So when I was Younger and again still now i am a really bad drawer. So my elementary school teacher made up a test but i had to draw out the country's and since i was a bad drawer I failed the test and thought for four years that I was just bad at geography until i finally realized i am just bad at drawing. Another time I could relate this quote to my life was when I was 10 and I was really good at computers but i was not the fastest typer. So it made me fell bad at computers because everyone else was better and typed faster then me.

I believe that he is saying that all of us have a set of gifts that are waiting within us to be discovered. These gifts, if we nurture them and work hard, can bring success and fulfillment. However if we or others try to force a talent that is not there, or worse, judge us against a specific talent we will fell and believe that we are worthless. Not everyone can be a LeBron James. But then again, if we expect LeBron James to excel in science, like Einstein, he would have been judged stupid and perhaps given up on everything-including basketball! In applying the spirit of this quote to my own life, I have not found genius-yet. But I do know some of my strengths and use them to strive for my goals. I am willing to work very hard and consistently and make sacrifices in order to succeed. In academic, things do not come easily for me, but I am able to work hard every day and give up some things in order really learn. I also do not give up easily. If I get a poor grade on a test, I work even harder on the material. The same is true in athletics, in tennis or martial arts, I pay attention to details and practice hard, hanging in there until my skill improve. I think these are the strengths that I can use to find my “genius” in life.

You can't judge someone by the things they don't have the ability to overcome, but to encourage them to keep trying and then maybe later it will be a success. Everybody is smart and can accomplish things they once thought would've been too hard, or simply never thought they had the ability to accomplish. With that being said, “But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing it is stupid.” In my own life and opinion on this quote I think this can mean a variety of things. The one I think is the closest to relating to this quote though is some kids have strengths in all sorts of activities, or hobbies. For, example kids are good at being smart, some at sports, some are great at both. If a kid is so smart that's their ability that’s their special touch to tell who that person is. Now, if they aren't good at sports meaning not good coordination, not the fastest, or not even good at hitting/kicking a ball. You don't judge them because thats a ability they lack at. Like those high school jocks who are on varsity sometimes lack in being smart, but you don't see them getting judged the same way a person who is smart and not good at sports is. What this is trying get across, and tell you a lesson don't judge someone if they aren't as good at something as you might be, the whole time they'll think that they aren't worthy, of making that accomplishment because they don't have as good ability to perform it. Like how a fish can't climb a tree, we all know it can’t because it is a fish it lives in water. So that’s what i think Albert Einstein was getting at don't judge someone by something they might not have the ability to do, because then they will never think they can accomplish that. In my life I saw a tweet one day, about this girl at a gym who took a picture of a overweight man. Saying “his boobs are bigger then mine.” First off, she did not use correct grammar instead of then it shouldve been than. Second don't judge that person by what they look like or make fun of them because they are overweight. Encourage them to keep going, to get to their goal, he’s at the gym for a reason cause he see’s their is a problem with his weight. We all say why? Or atleast I do! I really like it because it can relate to so many things. It basically is saying that people aren't born and or meant for certain things. For example like in the quote it says the fish will feel stupid if he cant climb a tree. Its common sense that fish cant climb trees, they cant live with out water. So in todays society it makes it seem like if you cant do one thing that your not meant for, it means your stupid. And that's what sucks. people expect you to be perfect, and no one realizes that its impossible to be perfect. For example, if your a girl that means you cant be on nfl football, and if your a guy you cant do half the stuff girls do, and that's just life so it doesn't make you stupid for not being able to do something. This can relate to my life a lot. and I mean a lot. Im not that tall. out of all my friends im the shortest one. So in eight grade I decided to do track and obviously we had to try hurdles. since my legs are so so so so small I idnt even try them. And I put myself down for it I thought I was stupid. But no that I look back I realize that hurdles is not the right thing for me. I would be betterr at doing something else

It's what you do with it whether you do you go far or if you don't go far it's your life and the way you live it is completely up to you. Everybody's born with the ability to make something of themselves and to succeed. They have the ability to go far they have the ability to do whatever they want.everybody has the chance to be that millionaire that everybody wants and dreams of being.I also believe that this quote means that if you spend your life time with listing and believing that people what people are saying like if they're calling you stupid and dumb and things like that you're sitting around and believe in them I believe that that's the wrong thing to do you should go out and live your life to the fullest and be you'll be happy for you are.being happy and faking happy are two completely different things. Being happy is when you don't have to fake a smile to go to be around friends are fake things and do things that you would never originally do with the people that you visually hang out with. Making you happy is going out putting on a fake smile do you think that you never do just to feel happy that but you're not really happy doing those things Ottawa. I believe the point Einstein was trying to get across was that, everyone has things that they're good and bad at. So if you judge somebody by their ability to do something they're bad at, they'll go around their entire live believing that they're stupid. If you focus on the things people can do well, however, then you will build their confidence up and they'll believe that they're intelligent, as they should. Nobody deserves to constantly have their flaws pointed out to them. When people are constantly pointing out other's flaws, it only makes them weaker. Nobody can have a fulfilling life if people are constantly bringing them down. If people are comparing you to the things that you don't do well in life, then you just have to try to remind yourself that your flaws do not define you. The things you may not be the best at, are nothing more than just things you have not mastered. And that's perfectly okay. Because no one, not even Einstein, can be good at everything. Everyone has flaws or something they're not good at. It's simply human nature for people to have their own defaults. But you can't hold yourself to anyone else's expectations. You have to do things at the speed that you're comfortable with and not let anyone else tell you that you're stupid because of the things you may lack. It's honestly okay for people to have things they're not good at.

Another things I agree with is people judge you on your flaws they will make you feel like you can’t even do the things that you know you are good at. I agree that we should focus on the things that people can do and their confidence will grow and they will believe in themselves. Nobody should have their flaws pointed out. This will weaken the person and they may give up.

But what it means to me is you can not judge a person on what they say. It might be really smart and maybe you are the one who is wrong. For example many people use to make fun of me because I am good with technology. When they would make fun of me for this I would stop doing what I was best at. But the funny thing is when they ask me to help me with something I just say no and it makes them really mad. This quote also has a lot of other meanings. One of them is you have to see what someone can do before you judge them on it. You never now maybe some one is really good at something but if you never let them try it they will never know. For example if someone stopped the man who invented the phone we might not have any phones today. Also this goes for any kind of technology in today’s world. You have to let people try new things. Because if they don’t we will never be as advanced as we are today. This also means we have to stop bullying because it is stopping people who are very smart from ever trying to do what they know they are good at. They do this because they do not want to be made fun of. For example we have many bullying problems in our school. Also we have some very smart kids in our school. From my point of view I think this quote means if you expect someone to do something and you know that they might not be able to do it as well as you or they can’t do it at all, you shouldn’t make fun of them for it. Everyone is different and everyone has something special to him/her. That’s what I think Albert Einstein is trying to say, not everyone is the same and you should respect that. Personally, I think this quote means if you put someone down because they aren’t as good as you at something , it’s not going to help them get better. It just puts them down more and more and you don’t let them gain confidence. “If you judge a fish by the way it climbs a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing it’s stupid.” I think that part of the quote means exactly what it says, yeah the fish climbing a tree is hard to understand but it means something. For example, if you were to tell your friend that they can’t do math and that they are stupid, they might take it to heart, even know you might be joking, they can’t take it the wrong way and go their entire life thinking what you said is true. I have seen situations like this in my life with kids in school or just in public. I have seen kids say another kid that they are stupid and they believe it. They think that they are actually stupid. I think it’s a big problem because people today commit suicide because someone says to them that they shouldn’t deserve to be on this earth. These kids hear that and it hurts them badly, you wouldn’t want someone to say that to you, would you? No, you would want someone to compliment you on what you do or the way you dress. What i think this quote means is that everybody has something they are good at. But if you only focuse on the things that they arent goo at you will think that they are stupid your entire life. So then when people try to judge them on what they cant do, he or she can prove them wrong. Each kid has their own specific trait that they are good at. My specific trait is baseball. Other kids traits are academics, Or any other activity. You have to let them be themself and show everyone what there trait is. For me if a kid tried baseball and he wasnt good it would be wrong or me to make fun of him for that. I should just think of the trait that he has. Not that im better than him.

But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.” means to me is that you can’t treat people differntly based on their learning disabilities or problems, and that everybody deserves to be treated equally, regardless of ethnicity, race, or heritage. For example some people are born different and can have trouble learning simple things. Which can cause them to be judged by their peers. This can lead to developmental issues and cause them learning disabilities in the near future as they grow up. Causing some students to be judged even more, for being more different. Causing developmental issues within them.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that can help you overcome the fear of being judge is an acronym that I recently learned called F.e.a.r. which stands for “Face everything and rise” this could be a good acronym to think of in times when you are being judged and you are in fear of things that scare you!
I find this acronym to be powerful and very strong and i do believe that this quote can help you in trouble or hard time when you are facing difficult moments in you’re life. And that if you believe in such things they can help turn you’re life around by making it better for you, and helping you become a better stronger person. Or maybe becoming a better person and reflecting this onto other people by making them want to be more like you as if you are a role model! :)
So to conclude on this passage of Albert Einstein’s quote ”Everybody is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.” is that you should always remember to treat everyone equally and not different but not different but the same. And to end it off heres another quote from one of my favorite music producers that is very similar to Alberts quote, it goes like this. “The window through which we perceive life is what defines our experience of it. We are only aware of a small fraction of what our senses pick up. We can all choose how we see the world.” The person who created this quote goes by the name of Tristam and is a very talented music producer.

Before this blog I have seen this quote many many times. I see it on Tumblr a lot. Tumblr is a micro-blogging platform and social networking website created by David Karp. Tumblr , in my eyes it's not exactly that definition. I believe that I have seen it on there a lot because it symbolizes that even though people are very smart we are all not equal in our learning ability. Some people are better at visual learning , but some , like myself , can just read things and usually take them in & comprehend them in a few minutes. So , some classes make it harder for students like me to learn because of the fact that I don't learn like everyone else does , but not everyone learns like me also .

I believe by this he meant that everyone is smart,but you can't judge them on one aspect. Everyone has a certain subject that they blossom in,some may be different than other. If you keep judging them on only one subject they'll think that they are stupid and that will affect their physce and that will affect their action. Then they might never find what they are smart in.I've been in this situations personally, I remember when I was younger everyone made fun of me because I didn't understand math. I sat there as they taunted and teased cause I didn't know what 8 times 8 was. They made me feel stupid and small like I was slow and I watched as the other could answer quickly and memorized them. I was in awe. A year or two later though I was luck enough to find my strength. I found music and art and was hysterical with love until my it was the base of my soul and it spilled from my pores. Later on I remember how people said I had a talent. I was smarter than them at least when it came to art and music. I could teach them things that they didn't know. Now isn't that the point of life or atleast aspect of it. We are humans we are not perfect we are all different. We can teacher each other and help each other if we just show some compassion. We can better ourself our whole race but that's something for maybe the next generation.

But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.” I think this quote means a lot. one reason is that everyone is smart and can accomplish a lot on your own. and everybody can with the dedication they have and the hard work they are will to put in. and you cant judge no one by what kind of disabilities they may have. you cant judge them by what language they speak how well they talk or the color of their skin. because if you tell they cant do thing they will feel bad and they will start to believe that they will never make it to what there trying to accomplish. its you that has to support what there tryingto do and give them advice to do better and motivate them to make themselves feel better about themselves. and you cant judge someone on something they cant do you have to judge them on thing s they can do. and before you start making fun of them think of yourself and how you feel if that was you. see kids these day don't think before they speak. They say one wrong thing and can haunt someone and they will make them feel really bad about them self. and if you tell them sorry they wouldn't know if you really mean it or not. people might not do the things you van do, but that doesn't make them different from you. yes everyone has different ability's then others but that means that they are at least trying to become better at what there doing. and if you judge someone they will be scared to be there sleeves and then they will become someone that they shouldn't be and then everyone is going look at that individual differently then before, just because of someone's opinion of themselves. I can relate this to me because everyone didn't like the thing I did and the ways I did the things. but I ignore that feeling because I knew If I let others tell me and make fun of me on the things I do im going to start believing it and then im goings start making it a big thing to do better. Just because your good at something doesn't mean that you'll get along with these people though so be careful of who you become friends with. Don't ever judge someone because you don't know what they have gone through or what they are currently going through now. I think this can relate to me by me being dyslexic and not being the best in school but i am a supper athlete. Because i know im not the best in school i try and i try but it never seems to be enough. I focus a lot more on sports because its what im great at and what i know can get me a scholarship. I'm still working on the grades end of that but i know if i work hard enough and i get the help i need i will be able to succeed. So don't ever judge someone before you know them or before you get to know there story.

What i think this quote means is that everybody has something they are good at. But if you only focuse on the things that they arent goo at you will think that they are stupid your entire life. also one reason is that everyone is smart and can accomplish a lot on your own. This could also mean that you really cant judge someone about there looks you have to judge them on there personality. also you cant ever judge someone because you don't know what they have gone through or what they are currently going through and sometimes people take it to long. for example one example is to kill a mocking bird every one new that tom robinson didn't commit the crime cause atticus finch proves it but yet they still said he was guilty and put him in jail and later on shot him when the cop was saying "he ran away". Always be nice and never judge a person or book bye its cover. For example we have many bullying problems in our school. Also we have some very smart kids in our school. Personally I think that this quote can mean many things but it is just how you interpret it. Overall, I think this quote is important and people should think about what they are going to say before they say it. So that’s what i think Albert Einstein was getting at don't judge someone by something they might not have the ability to do, because then they will never think they can accomplish that.

I always thought I was stupid for not getting answers right in bio and failing tests but then I go to math and I pass and know and understand everything I am learning and taking. My interpretation of the prestigious Albert Einstein's quote is that every individual is intelligent or daft in his or her own crafts, and if you judge them by a job or skill they haven't had time to hone and master then that individual will be evaluated at less than proficient and marked poorly for their efforts. This situation is the literature equivalent to putting an athlete into a academic debate or put an individual that excelled to a scholarly fashion into an athletic competition. Neither of these situations will rank highly. To me this quote means everyone is to a high degree a genius and that we as a society judge individuals in a way that isn't just to everyone's interests and hobbies. I feel that society makes individuals conform to an accepted a way in which the world is to be viewed and how it should be expressed to our peers. If you judge a rock by how well it can flow like water then it will fail, but if you grade it on how much weight it can support, then it will be marked highly for its abilities. I believe Albert Einstein's quote is an punctilious description of our society as it is today.
ReplyDeleteThis quote made me reminisce of when I had to write a five page essay for a contest, it made me feel bad about my self. I did horribly and it mad me think I was stupid, and less than my fellow peers. I felt like I wasn't any good at anything and hated school I was to a high degree of sadness. Then the next day I was in mathematics and everything was extremely easy, I understood everything and I excelled at all the thinks we were just introduced to that day. I was reminded that we are only good at what we practice and what we have knacks for. I like Albert Einstein's quote for it assists in describing our society.
I agree with you! its not fair if someone hasn't had time to master something. People shouldn't be treated differently just because they are not as good as you. chances are they are better than you at something. you may not be good at English but you are good at math and that's good because everyone has strengths and weaknesses

ReplyDeleteOne time I could think have that had to do with is quote relates to me is when we were playing our last game of the soccer season and everyone said we couldn’t beat them. They said we weren’t good enough to win, we dint have the skill. We worked our butts off that game we passed and made really good shots on net our goalie was stopping all the balls. We worked hard and won the game even though everyone doubted us. If felt really good to prove everyone wrong and be the fish that climbed the tree. We blew everyone away with how good we did. This time we weren’t stupid we were the soccer geniuses. Another time I could think of that I proved everyone wrong was in 7th grade. They all thought that my grades would be awful because I was really sick the year before and missed a lot of school. I tried really hard stayed after everyday for extra help and ended up getting honor roll. I did my best and everyone was blown away by what I have accomplished. It was a really good feeling.

Don't say someone cant do something because we all can. People could be amazing at something you just have no idea. I relate to this when a whole group of people said I sucked at sports. I told them I was good, but they didn't believe me. So I played and proved them wrong. Im not saying im amazing, but im decent enough to be a player. Those people were proved wrong...I love proving people wrong. "Never judge a book by its cover." is another similar quote to this. Never judge someone no matter what. They could be amazing you just don't know it.
