  1. This quote was stated by Vince Lombardi. The quote is “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” This quote means that when you get mentally pushed down and hurt by someone it's not that you got hurt its about how you get up and hold your head up high. Also it means that if you do get mentally knocked down all you have to do is get back up and be the best you could be. Make it seem that no one could bring you down. When you make people see that you can get up and still move on it somewhat intimidates them. This quote has multiple explanation but that's the best one out of all of them.
The quote at hand is extremely important to me because I have been in the situation where I was mentally pushed down and I was hurt and this helps me out. When I was younger I wasn't like how I am now so it was quite difficult for me to make friends and I was a little loner and it didn't feel so good. Of course I had the people I talked to but they never were my friends I had gotten my actual first friend in fourth grade. Before then I had many different experiences with bullies. Some people would have said that I was so strong and brave but I really wasn't I was so tiny and weak I didn't know what to do. The little me didn't really have any idea of how to react when I was getting bullied but I was mentally broken. When I met my friend I was so happy that I was nearly jumping at the fact that we got a new student in our class. I was so happy that I didn't know if the person would like me but I decided it can't hurt to try and that I did but more importantly I showed all of my bullies that I can get back up and be the happiest little girl in the world. This quote has affected me in this way because I believe that I got back up from being hurt and pushed down and that's what you have to do when you come into those situations. I also believe that this quote is trying to motivate young people to not be bothered by all the talk they hear unless it is very important which if it was that important I don't think someone would be talking bad about it.

    1. Great quote Jessie! I completely agree with you especially when you talk about making it seem like you never got knocked down in the first place. I say this because I also agree with you when you say that doing this could intimidate your opponents. I also think that your real life example was very true to the quote. Any way good job and nice quote.

  2. The quote, “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up," is a very good quote. It lets people have courage to do what they want. If you get knocked down just get back up. You might fail at doing something, but that doesn't mean you can't try it again. If you're down that's not what counts the most you can get back up that's what counts. It doesn't matter if you get knocked down or you failed what matters is if you try to pass or you give it your best to pick yourself back up. I have done a lot of things in my life that could relate to this quote. I was starting to fail a class and I didn't give myself enough courage to get back up and start working harder to get my grade back up. I had a test and I didn't bring my study guide home. I got really upset because I didn't want to fail my test. So my mom was telling me to still try look in your book or go online and look up somethings that might be on the test so I wouldn't fail the test. Another time this quote relates to me is when I was in my older school we had a day called dolphin day. I was in this school for two years I wasn't able to do it the first year because I got in to much trouble. The next year I was making sure I was behaving better because I wanted to participate. The day finally came and I was being stupid on the monkey bars jumped off of them and landed on my back. I wasn't able to breath and couldn't get up. The nurse came and took me to the office where I lied down. They wanted me to go to the hospital because they weren't sure if I did anything bad to my back or broke anything near my back. I didn't want to go to the hospital because I was scared. I ended up going to the hospital because I wanted to go back to dolphin day. I wasn't able to go back to school unfortuneatly. Going through all of this it showed me that I can't give up on something I really wanted to do. The quote, “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up," has inspired me to do a lot of things that I wouldn't have been able to do before. Therefore, I think that this quote means that if you "fall down" it doesn't mean you can't get back "up" or try again. You can't give up on your first time if you fail because you will never learn from your mistakes.

  3. In life you will get knocked down, but the point of life is to get back up and keep moving forward. "It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi. To me this means that's no matter how many times you get knocked down it doesn't matter, it's whether you have enough strength to get back up. To stay down is to easy its a way of letting people know your not strong enough. Yeah it's okay to stay down for a little bit and recover, but it's not okay to never get back up. My grandpa used to say no matter how hard the going is to get back up and keep trying.
Personally to me this means a lot. Life is tuff for sure, but everyone loves it everyday so why can't i? I remember when I honestly thought that I wasn't smart, at all. I felt I wasn't as smart as everyone else, I beat myself up over it and it was so hard to stop myself from doing that. Now my grades weren't far behind others but I saw how smart some people were and I wanted to be like them. Finally I said to myself if you want to be like them, then you have to work harder then you have been. So I did I worked harder then I usually did and I saw my grades slowly getting better. Man I was the happiest I had ever been. Hard work pays off. What also helped me was the constant reminder of what my grandpa used to tell me. He would always tell me to never give up, that's what people around us want to see us do, but we have to keep getting up and keep trying and prove everyone around you that you can do anything you want. This quote is trying to help us and motivate us to keep going and to get back up because that's all that matters

  4. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi
What I think this quote means is that even if you get knocked down you should still get back up. You should never let anyone knock you down. Even if you think you can't get back up and be happy or go on with the day, you can, if you always try! You have to hold your head high even if you got mentally hurt by somebody. It may be hard but it's always possible!
What this quote means to me is that I used to get bullied or "knocked" down and I know it doesn't feel good. But I am still here now, becsuee I always kept my head high and got right back up. I don't care what people think of me now and nobody knocks me down anymore. You have to stick up for yourself. I thought that it wouldn't never change or stop but it did when I got older and more mature. It's okay if it take a little while for you to get up but you're trying and that's all that matters! Also I know that is happens to some of my friends. I always try to help them even when they are in very tough situations! This is a good quote! I also have friends who help me get back up and resume things. They always help. So it all matters when you got back up and you tried to do something about what happen to you or your friend or whoever it isThis is what I think this quote means and how it relates to me!

  5. Vince Lombardi’s quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” This quote means that when you are completely run down to the point that you might know you will lose if u get back up but u do it anyway because if u can take it you can make it. “If u can take it you can make it,” this quote was once said of the late Louie Zamperini when he was repeatedly knocked down and face death more than a hand full of times but kept a positive attitude and always got back up when the odds were stacked ageist her. Also I think it means to go the extra mile(s) mentally and physically after you reached the point of giving up. For example if you are playing football and you did your best and your team is winning, you shouldn’t slow down fourth quarter because you think you are done you should if anything put more effort into the game then the previous 3 quarters and go beyond your best and push yourself to you can’t any more.
Vince Lombardi’s quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up,” can also relate to almost every ones’ real life experiences one way or another. One example that I personaly experienced was when I repeatedly fail my math tests and every time I would get knocked down I would stay down or even do worst on the next test. However something happened were I found the power to put the effort into improving my math scores. So because of this I stayed after every day, studying all night, and quizzed myself every chance I had. And I ended up failing the test I put all this effort into. But that never stopped me. I spent even more time studying and quizzing myself that I knew there was no way I can possibly fail and it turns out that I scored the highest in my class. However we just don’t always experience the meaning of the quote we can see other people experience this quote. One example would be my grandma who fought cancer over and over and never gave up till her last days she is a true example of what this quote can mean.

    1. I agree with you Mike because your example basically explains the quote. Your example also expresses how this quote relates to your life. Also how it has affected you and someone you know. Nicely done with explaining the quote. I think the use of another quote was a great idea as well.

  6. It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi
What this quote means to me is that every time you get knocked down you can always get back up. No matter how hard you got hit there's always a way for you to get back on your feet. This quote can apply when your in sports or maybe in business. Everyone fails in life, but it matters on how hard you try to put forth effort to get back up and try again. This quote personally means to me that always try in what you do whether you fail or not.

    1. I completely agree with you Eli. You and I are pretty much on the same basis. When you fail you can always try again and get your self back up there. I think if you fall u shouldn't give up and give it another shot and keep going with it. Therefore I do agree with what u said and your example.

  7. "It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up." written by Vince Lombardi is a great inspirational quote to go by in life. I think this quote means that no matter what task you face you must through it to get where you want to be you can't just stop what you have done and give up. This quote can be related to many things such as work, sports, life, marriage you can use this quote in about just everything. Most people don't give up because it's the easy way out and it seems they want to be challenged and pushed to do better. I know I do especially when it comes to school and or sports.
I'm out 24/7 with a ball in my hands at all times I want to be the best I can be and that means I have to push myself to be what I would like become and can't stop working no matter what obstacle. This is how I feel this quote relates to me and my everyday life because everyone has hard times and issues that doesn't mean you can give up. You must push through it out and bounce back better then before this is what I think of this quote written by Vince Lombardi.

  8. Vince Lombardi once said “it’s not weather you get knocked down; its weather you get back up.” This quote means that when you fall you have to get back up. No matter what the situation is you have to rely that everything is going to work out in the end. When you get pushed down getting up is not always the easiest thing to do, but you have to prove to yourself you are better than that and get back up no matter what. Sometimes cannot stand right back up when you get pushed down. It can take some time before you relies that you need to keep moving on and work through the past problem. Being “pushed down” could be referred to as many things. Mentally physically, and verbally. Nobody wishes to be pushed down by other people let alone their own friends or family. I personally no people who have been pushed down by their own friends for liking a different kind of music then they do. Her “friends” would call her many names and make up many rumors about her and how she acts and is as a person. I personally disagree with everything they said about her. She is still the same exact person as she was she just started to listen to a different kind of music than what they listened to. That was the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Just because someone liked something different then everyone else doesn’t mean you have to knock them down and feel bad about what they like. When she told me about what was happening I laughed at what she told me. I couldn’t believe that people would do that when half the school listens to the same music as her. I feel that it is good for people to have their own opinions on different things, but I disagree with the way some people express theirs. You have to realize that no everybody is going to like the things you do, and not everyone is not going to like you. Just because someone has an opinion on something that does not give you the right to put someone down because of something they like and enjoy doing.

  9. Vince Lombardi once said “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” This wonderful quote means that you never give up and that's all that matters. This quote means that you should never get discouraged and should never give up. What this quote personally means to me is, that you should never give up because of everything. This quote relates to me A LOT. I always get knocked down and get back up, every wrestling match I gave up 22 pounds and lost 20 matches. I never gave up, I never got discouraged, I got knocked down and got right back up. I went 4-20, I know what your thinking, damn this kid sucks, but I heard that many times and never once did I get discouraged or gave up. I hope that makes you understand this quote more because I don't know how else to explain it. This quote is like perfect to me, you should never ever ever give up. Great quote choice this week ms bocchino! That's what the quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” Once said by Vince Lombardi means.

  10. There are many challenges that approach us and get in our ways in our lifetime. The quote once stated by Vince Lombardi says “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” This quote is very inspirational and can be interpreted in a few different ways. So when it states "It's not whether you get knocked down;" it' basically just saying that there are going to be many obstacles that await us in life but we cannot let them get us down. But, if they do, it doesn't matter how hard they hit or how much they affected you and your life. It only matters if you choose to get back up and just ignore what's preventing you from moving on in your daily life.
Getting knocked down is much similar to losing inspiration in some ways. Such as if you lose an idea or it gets taken, you'll lose your inspiration and quit that idea. But, it takes even more courage to just get back up and become motivated again. Ignoring the bad events that happened prior in your life and just keep moving on. Don't let anything or anyone get in the way of your ideas and dreams no matter the situation. This is similar to the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" such how when the trial of Tom Robinson took place Atticus had to fight for him.
No matter how much he got instigated, he kept his cool and proceeded with the case. Defending Tom to give him a fair defense and a fighting chance at winning the trial. But unfortunately it's not always enough, but despite all of the bad things said about and to Atticus, he just ignored them and kept proceeding in life. He didn't let anyone stop him from what he does or believes in.
Life is always going to be filled with ups and downs. You could have something horrible or tragic happen in your life like a death, failing a test or just becoming depressed. Instead of letting those things stop you, you need to get up and fight. Don't let those things get in your way and distract you from what you want to do. It's your decision to get up and just brush it off like it's nothing and just leave it in the past. Do not let anything distract or bother you enough to take control of your life.

  11. this quote was stated by Vince Lombardi. the quote states that “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” I think that this quote means that no matter how many times life hits and you fall you should always be strong and get back up. when life is hard you got to remember that your on this earth for a reason. no matter what some one says or the way someone thinks. always remember that you have a purpose of life and that you should be strong and get up after every time life hits you. I was told by my dad that you got to stay strong even when someone or something is hurting you. I can relate this quote to my life because life hit me but I got back up and kept fighting. in 2011 my grandma died from breast and liver cancer. I have lived with my grandma my whole life ever since I was 2 years old. my mom and dad wasn't able to take care of me because they were on drugs. so I lived with my grandma for 9 years until she passed. her passing was very hard for me and my sisters. but I remembered what my dad said you got to stay strong, and that's exactly what I did. =sure I was crying but I didn't let that stop me from living life. after life hit me I got up and kept on fighting no matter how hard it hit me. so on I've been living life the way life is supposed to be lived with a smile and happy thoughts with goals. im not letting nothing stop me from achieving those goals. people doubted me they said I wont achieve my goals but I didn't listen to them and today im still striving to to get to those goals. life is hitting me with everything it has but im still getting up and fighting for what's mine. don't ever let someone tell you, you cant do anything. you were put on this world for a reason. when life hits you get up and keep fighting. stay strong.
