  1. I think this means that no mader how hard things get you still give it your all. Even if things get so bad but you still keep going no mader how hard things get. It means that you get knocked down but you just get back up the key is a posative point of view. if you think posative thoughts you can get through enything. THe night is always darkest before the dawn. In the book heart of a samurai they made a quote that said fall down seven get up eight. This means that things can happen what you have to do is just pick your self back up by surounding yourself with the people you love and the things you love go do stuff that you enjoy go make something or go try something new maybe a food or an activity go travel and meet new people. Things can get bad like really really bad but you just got to shake it off just like taylor swift said in one of her songs. Like batman or bruce wayne his parents were killed right in front of him but he didnt let it get to him and made it his fuel to become batman to save kids from this same situations dont let theses bad times get to you use them to your advantage use as a fuel to do better to be better because if you dont and you give up you could loose everything and when i say everything i mean everything. Dont be like two face or harvey dent he lost his girlfriend and went insane instead of just going to theropy or just trying to get over it no he chose to kill people with a flip of a coin. People make mistakkes and if your mistakes are the reasdon your in the whole dont take it to heart try to stop what your doing and make a diffrence in your life and forget about it just learn from your mistakes just remember your only human your not perfect you will mess up even the pros mess up at what they spend there lives doing and training at. So just remember to listen to people because you can learn a thing or two even from people that are younger then you.

    2. I agree with your interpretation of the quote, it means to never just give up and always try no matter what. I like how you see and feel about Vince Lombardi's quote through your own eyes

    3. I agree with you. try and don't give up fight for what you believe in. if you fall just pick yourself up and try again fixing what you did wrong, doesn't matter how hard it is just keep trying

  2. I think the quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” by Vince Lombardi means that it does not matter if you fail at something a million times it matters that you get back up and try again even after failing so many times. It also means that if you wanted a job or something really bad and you did not get it you go back and try to get that job or thing again until you have it. One more thing this quote could be is that you could be a athlete and you have been trying to beat a record. You keep failing no matter what you do. If you give up you would have just wasted your time and you would not have accomplished anything. Since you kept trying you approved and you got better and then finally you break the record. If you did not keep getting back up and trying you would have never had beat the record. This quote can mean a lot to me personally. There has been a lot of times in my life where i have done bad or have fallen down and slowly got back up and tried again and usually did better. An example of one of these times is most the years i have been in school so far. I had a lot of problems when I was in Elementary School and even a little bit in middle school. I usually got bad grades on everything I never really ever came to school because of that and i was always really bored and depressed. One year I missed 70 days of school. over time I started to get better though this year especially was a big turn around. I never had straight A's or Never made any kind of Honor roll until this year. I am in school almost every day unless i am really sick and i am actually thinking about going to college. So after falling down so many times i finally was able to get back up.

    2. I strongly agree with your post nick. if you fail a lot of times at something you really want try again until you get it .your example of an athlete trying to break a record is a good one, because it is a process that takes many attempts! I also agree that if you quit, something you wasted a lot and accomplished nothing. your personal example of your grades and experience in middle school was very brave to put out there, and I admire your honesty. you sure did turn things around and deserve all the success you are having now. I believe you will fail at things ,but if you want them bad enough, you will find strength, keep at it, learn and succeed.

    3. I strongly agree with your thoughts Nick. Everyone does indeed fail and atleast one points of their lifes. Its all about sticking it through and not every quitting. Your personal examples relate a lot to the quote. Never give up.

  3. Vince Lombardi once said "It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get back up." I think this quote can relate to everyone's live in some way or another. Because everyone has had something that has brought them down in some way. Whether it was losing a job, going through a break up or having someone you were close with pass away. There are thousands of reasons for someone to get knocked down. This quote can relater to me personally because last year, my friend went through a very rough patch. She was diagnosed with depression and as much I tried to help her, there was nothing that I would do that would have that much of an impact with her life. But I knew as her friend I had to keep reminding her that life would get better and this wouldn't be it for her. It's a year later now and she is done going to therapy and she is a completely different person now. She's much happier with herself and I can clearly see this. Last year, she had been knocked down but this year she finally got back on her feet. She's completely different now and I couldn't be happier about that. Everybody, at one point or another, has been knocked down. But what really counts is when we can stand back up again.

  4. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.”, were wise words once said by Vince Lombardi. Obstacles we face aren't suppose to be easy, we get challenged by right or wrong decisions we choose to make. It’s about how we have to act either later on in the situation or right in the moment. When situations are tough, or are a lot of obstacles in the way to achieving that one goal. Its not about if you get knocked down, its about how you get back up. How you come out of that tough time, or how you act during that tough time that makes you come back even stronger, and more motivated. Me personally, it means to not let something knock you down and stop trying. That gives you no motivation. No successful person will tell you that it was easy to get to where they are today. They used those tough times to get back up to keep going, giving themselves motivation. Hopefully inspiring others to do the same, I find people that don't give up very inspiring. President Obama will not tell you it was a easy ride to get to where he is today. He has definitely hit some tough spots in achieving where he is today. WIth being the first African American to be president in history, he has had some motivation to keep working his way up to today. Still trying to be the best person he can be, and best president he can be. A time in my life where i’ve seen someone get knocked down, was my sister in college. She failed a really important test, that was very difficult. She tried the best to her ability, even sometimes thats not always good enough. Its not about that she tried the best she could, she got knocked down by failing that important test. She then proceeded to study so hard the next time she had a test she was not going to fail. So after all that study she took that aggravation from hitting a hard spot, got back up and got a A on that test. Since she didn't give up,she kept going after something that discouraged her.Her doing the best she inspired me to wanna do my best in school to achieve the best grades I can get.

    1. The example of your sister and the test fir really well with this quote. It shows how she didn't give up and how she kept trying. That fits the quote perfectly and I bet your sister passed the next time and how happy she felt that she didn't give up

  5. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” - Vince Lombard. This quote i believe has a very obvious meaning. In my eyes & my opinion this quote means that no matter how many times you fail you should always revive & get back up again. Also , similarly , no matter how hard you get pushed you should always , no matter how bad , recover from it. I also believe that recovery is the best option 100% of the time. Whether its from a break-up , a fight with your best friend , or an actual injury. Not only can it be physically damaging , but also mentally damaging. Going through life you should always be accompanied by this quote , it could really help you greatly.
Not only can these be helpful in your lives , but mine too. I have two friends right now who are in a big fright. It's not fun & sometimes it gets to me & i break down & cry. I know i shouldn't do that but i do. But everyday is always better than the last. 100% of times yesterday was bad , but even if yesterday was the best day of your life , this one can be better. You just have to make it that way. Change is started by one person , one person being happy & standing tall even after being knocked down 100 times can make it better. I try to be that person , it's hard to do all the time , but as often as i can I make the most of every day because it very well could be my last day. You never know when you could die , it may sound a but pessimistic , but it really isn't. Live every day like its your last , you could be knocked down by bowling pins , but when they're knocked over , they're always stood back up. They always do , they always will. So think of yourself as a bowling pin & the bowling ball as your life. Though the ball hits you every so often , you might get banged up a bit from falling. But when it comes down to it , you just have to dust it off & reset yourself right back up again.

  6. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi
This is a very important quote its also a very good one to follow and think about. I feel like if you don't follow this saying you will be living a life of full regrets. What I mean is that when you fail in life you always have to get back up and carry on what you are doing because if you just quit it will get you no where in life. And when you look back you might regret it not doing what you failed at again. Life is full of mistakes. Mistakes are normal. 100% normal. and when you don't try again after you fail it means you just give up. And giving up is for lazy people. Now do you wanna be clarified s a lazy person that gives up after one little mistake? Or do you want to be the strong person that never gives up? If I was in that situation I would wanna keep trying and do it and do it again until I was satisfied in what I failed at just so I know that I am a good person. This quote has happened to me so many times in my life I cant even count. It happenes a lot in sports and school work. I do cheer and im not the best at it. It take practice and a lot of time and effort and I fail a lot when I try to do my backhand spring and trust me I failed a lot of times. More then I can count. But if I give up I know that I could never do cheer again and that just wont make me happy. So if I keep trying I know I will feel happy and wont regret anything

    1. I think what you said about living a life full of regrets. Its saying that you won't give up even when you get knocked down in certain situations. Which not giving up is a very good mentality to have when getting knocked down by an obstacle. Your response to this quote shows that you're a hard worker and don't let something get you down. You keep trying till you surpass the obstacle that was placed in your way. Also, you don't live your life in regrets which is a good thing cause you don't miss out on opportunity's that come to you. Like you stated "so if I keep trying I know I will feel happy and wont regret anything" Means that you don't live with regrets and will feel happy knowing that you overcame that obstacle.

  7. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi. vince lombardi led the green bay packers to the first two superbowls and won both. the superbowl trophy is named after him. but however, this quote does not only apply to football. it can apply to anything in life. you would think that since he is a football coach he is telling his players that when you get knocked down it only matters if you get up but he really means this in a more secular manner. he is saying this as if you were being bullied and you just took it to heart and never got happier again. you were really depressed. vince lombardi wants you to let it go and kind of forget about it because that was the past and this is the present. another example of how this is showed is if you get a bad grade and you keep crying and complaining about it and you dont study for the next assignment to get back up.
i have heard this quote many times before and never knew that vince lombardi created it. if someone who knew vince lombardi as only a football coach they would not really understand the full and true meaning of this quote because it applies to anything in the world that you can fail in like school and sports. it can also interlock with things that you cant neccicerley fail in but you can kind of have a comeback in.

  8. Vince Lombardi once said “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up”. I think he meant that challenges will always face you in life. But the part that counts is wither you get up or accept defeat. Vince Lombardi knew what he was talking about cause he was a football head coach for the packers. He won a lot and didn't lose much. He also won a couple of super bowls. Reaching for a goal is not easy, if you want to reach it so badly you have to be willing to put the effort into trying.sometimes I get sad or upset over stuff in my past that I have seen or been threw. Like when I was in fifth grade I blamed my parents divorce for me being lazy. My parents were divorce so it had no connection with my effort. But then I realized the people around me were willing to help. the first marking period of the year after that I felt more confidence then I had felt in the past. Then I went on to High School which meant a new beginning for better grades. I almost made honor roll I think I missed by like 2 points. There will be challenges that may lie in your path of success but if you care about it more than you think you do, you would try as much as you would to reach you future and accomplish your hopes and dreams. that's how I feel about this quote. thanks everyone for the apprtetintion

  9. “It’s not whether you get knockdown; it’s whether you get up.” This quote by legendary football coach Vince Lombard, speaks to one of life’s biggest lessons. It is a given that all of us will get knocked down many times in life, but the trick is to keep trying and bouncing back from failure. People that want to master a skill will fail many times until they succeed. In fact, those that keep at it and “get up” will eventually reach their goal. Sometimes failure will tempt us to quit and say “I can’t do this.” But it is really when you fight through the feelings of failure that you do your best work. I also think a positive attitude and belief in yourself helps you to keep trying despite failure. It sounds cheesy, but thinking you will eventually succeed and believing that you can keep on trying is sometimes all you need to rebound from a tough situation. Another “trick” to getting back up after a knock down is to see the positive in a situation. Sometimes it helps for me to think, “well, I’ll never do this again!” after failing at something. This helps me to think that I turned the situation into something good. In fact I think this is a lot like the Scientific Method. Scientists keep charging the hypothesis based on results and view a fails experiment as something they can truly learn from As for me, the application in my life is once again-academics. A while Back I got a failing grade on a math test. this subject I usually enjoy and grades are not generally a problem. After I got the bad grade I initially felt bad, but then I saw it as a challenge. For the next test, I studied even harder than usual until I felt confident walking into the test. All of us will get knocked down, but if we don’t get up we lose the chance to try and eventually succeed. This is a quote I will remember and use for inspiration.

  11. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi. This quote is a great coach by a great football coach. What i think this quote means is that even though something or someone beats you at something doesnt mean that u shouldnt give up. The next time u should try harder so then you can win. Then you will feel better. If u dont get up and try again you will never succed. Then everytime you lose and dont get back up you will start to lose your confidence. Then the next time you lose you will lose even more confidence. Then eventually you will have no confidence in yourself to win and you will lose from there on. Or if you lose someone close to you you get really upset. Then it all depends on if you get up again or not. If you dont you will always be upset and nothing will get better. What this quote means to me personally is that wen i fail. I try to do better. So then when i finally do better i feel proud of myself. Then i can build my confidence and i will eventually never fail again because i did so good and my confidence is all the way up.

  12. Everyone falls down in life. We all have problems and we are all going to feel the same emotions because we are all human. We we all fall eventually, that dosen't matter though.Someone once said,"“It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” I believe by this they meant that everyone falls down but since everyone does it matters if you get back up because some people fall into their problems and think its the worse thing that every happened to them.So some people when they fall they don't get back up.Life is about failure its about making mistakes but its alsao about overcoming them and becoming better than what we were.Personally, Ive been in the spot where my problems and I were the only things that exsisted. For example, I once thought that since I was broke I wasn't going to achieve anything. I come basically from the boarder line ghetto and I thought I was going to fall down the wrong path that consisted of drugs and illegal business. I eventually saw the light and became obessed with my passion and I have options. which is the best feeling in the world. In conclusion, Its best to keep getting up despite how much you fall.

  13. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” this quote has so much meaning to everything. that quote is like a life lesson. reason is that no matter how hard life is at times you get right back up. yes life is hard at times, but the reason for that its teaching you that you cant give up because the time you give up you wont ever realize how close you were to achieving something. but when your about top give up take a step back and think about why you started something and your not going to finish it off . if you start something you finish it because others don't have the same opportunities you have. once you get knocked down you have the choice to stay down or you get back up and leave everything else behind and you worry about your self and what your trying to achieve. But that's totally to you, no one is telling you too stay but the best choice to do is to get back up. one thing I can relate to his was in the summer. when I couldn't finish 3 more sprints for soccer. in my head I was thinking g of why im doing this to give up and leave. but no I said to my self if I give up how am I going to get better at soccer. those sprints were hard since I had negativity all in my head and somewhat stopped me from completing it. but I ignored that feeling and I went all out and finished it. because I knew that giving up is going to make me lose like a loser. and I wanted to finish it because putting in hard work will lead you somewhere and will make you better at something . there was a lot in my head there were ideas of me making up excuses that way I wont have to do it, but at the same time I had to complete it. it was the right thing to do for me. it was hard but fighting towards it will make it easier.so when you give up and say you cant do it anymore you think what is best for you. you have the choice to sit down or get right back up

  14. I think the quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi means that when you get knocked down it doesn't matter the only thing that matters is if you get up or not. Get knocked down 7 times get up 8. who cares if your knocked down? Possibly you but you shouldn't. You should think of it as a challenge, a challenge you need to overcome or do amazing at. The important thing is you keep trying. Never give up. Life is too shore to give up. If you give up on one thing you will be more into giving up on the next thing you do also. Take getting knocked down as a challenge you cant loose and if you put your mind to it, you can do it. When it comes to my personality to me it means you need to try even harder. If you get knocked down you need to get up there is no if and's or buts about it there is no option. You need to get up. A time in my life when i could have used this quote was when i got hurt playing softball. I got hurt very bad and started to loos hope in everything all together not just softball but with school work and in my family and friends. It felt like the end of the world to me. I met some people who were in the same position as i was and they helped me get through it. Now its a lot better and i have my motivation back and a lot of people on my side to help me. So no matter how hard you fall there is always time to get back up and save yourself.

  16. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” This is a quote from Vince Lombardi. This is an inspirational quote to help people that are feeling down. My interpretation of this quote is it's doesn't matter how many times you do bad, what matters is that you get yourself back together and start doing well again. Vince was trying to help people get back to their feet after they fall. He understands that there will be many challenges in life and you won't always get past them your fist time. What he is saying is keep trying no matter how many times you get knocked down. Life is hard and unforgiving and it will beat you down and keep you there if you let it, and just because you fail it doesn't make you a failure. You're supposed to fail. you're supposed to hit rock bottom because only then will you want success more then you want anything. The only problem is the getting up from that rock bottom, its hard and won't let up. You have to push through it and not give up. I think this is what Vince was trying to say though his quote. In my opinion this quote helps push people through their worst moments and make them aspire to their be their best.

This quote reminds me of the time I went for a run and I was trying to beat my time for the mile. I had usually got between 5 minutes and 45 seconds to 6 minutes and 30 seconds. When I ran I used to stop three quarters of the way through and walk a little until I could run again. This time when I ran I told my self I wouldn't stop no matter what and I pushed and pushed for what seemed like hours but I didn't stop until I finished. I beat my old record and set my personal record at 4 minutes and 55 seconds. I feel this situation is an example of Vince Lombardi's quote "It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.”

  18. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi. This quote is very relative and can relate to ma ny things in peoples lives and things all around. This quote can really make your life better and change how you re act to sit uations through out your life. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi means that no matter how much hard obstacles come into or through your life, you have to be positive and thin k of all the good things n to come and do not hang your head this quote relates to me by me playing football. When I was a running back and did not have a good line I used to get short gains, but I never gave up and did the best I could do and every time I was knocked down I got right back up and tried again. If I did not try and no one tried we wouldn’t have won games, we won because we never gave up and we fought like a family and went into battle with a positive mindset. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi this quote can also relate to the world. Like if some one aqpplies for a jo0b and doesn’t get it if they do9nt try again or keep trying y ou will never live right. So you need to pick your head up and do what you need to do to be a positive person and live your life. It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. It depends on how many times you get back up and try again. No one will ever judge you for failing if you try again.

  19. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi to me this means it isn't even about how strong you are its all about the courage you have to get back up and fight for what is right . As rocky balboa once said it aint about how hard you hit its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving how much you can take. these quotes are very similar in the way that they tell stories. I once had this happen to me in a wrestling match when I was slammed and couldn't get up for a few seconds instead of quitting I got up and gave my best and then I won the match. this shows that even when people thought that I was done for the match I had gotten back up and continued to wrestle my heart out. This rule can apply to anyone if you are having a bad day get up and not quit if you think you are losing don't quit you're already in pain get what its worth. This shows that if you are actually truly brave you will be able to get up and fight for what you love even if life is being cruel to you.

  20. "Its not whether you get knocked down; its whether you get up." --Vince Lombardi. We all will fail it happends all the time. But you cant let failure get to you. This quote means it doesn't matter how many times we fail...it just matters if we have the strength to get up and try again. If you keep trying you will eventually meet your goal. Even if you are humiliated, it doesn't matter at all. We all have our bad moments in life, we all do. If you stop trying because of one, that proves you immature. We must never give up, if someone doubts you prove them wrong. Make them think "Wow I was wrong about that person." I don't know about you, but that would make me feel good. In my own life I relate to this in basketball. People said that I suck and I would never be good. I played against them and failed horribly. But all that did was make me want to improve even more. After a few months of practice, I became very good. Now I am always a threat to anyone who verses me. I can have some days where I can shoot the ball well, and someday I cant at all. Other days I am a driving machine, I cant miss my lay ups. Than you those days where you just are bad at everything. It happends, but you cant let it stop you. Otherwise you will be called a quitter...and nobody wants that. No one can judge you for failing if you keep trying. You will be known as the fighter, and everyone will respect you for that.

  21. “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” By Vince Lombardi have many meanings. Some that I can see are you will always be where you are if you never let life knock you will always be where you are. If people are being mean or something does not go your way don’t give up just keep positive thoughts and don’t give up on what you believe in you have to get up brush the dirt off and try until you are happy with the outcome. All the people who made their dreams come true had bumps in the road; don't be the one t gives up. It is no ones dream to give up everyone has dreams and goals and the ones who achieve them are the ones who kept trying when everyone else quit. You have to keep trying and never give up and do what you got to do.
In swim I got bad time but that bad time. That didn't stop me, it encouraged practicing harder and making my times a lot better. Even though I was down I got back up and worked hard to fix my times that were really bad. Now I can swim really good, and my times are a lot better now than they were. Another time I could think of is the time I did really badly in school. I didn’t do any work and didn’t really care about my work and almost failed. I was upset that I did not make it into mates and I thought I wasn’t good enough for school so I stopped trying. Then I realized that if I wanted to be successful I life them I had to try and work o it so what I wasn’t good enough for mates I can still be happy and successful without it. I got back up and started trying again. I got my grades up again. I started working hard again and I am trying to get my grades back up. I think this quote is very inspectional and everyone should live by it because it can really help a lot for people who want to give up. if you look into this quote a lot you can see the power these words have behind them.
