It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi
ReplyDeletei think this means that if you get told something that brings you down , its your choice too get up and make a decion too stay down or move on from it . too be happy again no matter what , too smile and not look back cause if you live in the past are you really living ? if you understand what i mean by that all i am saying is that you cant stay down for ever and ever.
So i guess something that would relate too me is , sometimes i get sad or upset over stuff in my past that i have seen or been threw . but i still everybody brought myself too school and smiled. and it hurts from time too time but i just remember that im as strong as i wanna be . of course i wanna be the strongest so im gonna take everything and everything too get me too that point. its just all your head , you use your brian and the strength you have and i promise it will take you far as it could be
I agree with alexia. She makes a point it is you decision to get back up. If you want to stay down thats up to you. But its also ur choice to get up and go do what you have to do. You need to have that will power to get up and do what u need to.
DeleteI agree. You have a choice to get back up. You even have a choice to stay down and not get back up. You have to keep on pushing to get to were you want to go in life and never give up.
DeleteWhat Vince Lombardi meant by, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up” was that there are going to be obstacles in your way that you need to conquer but if you don’t then what’s the point. As we grow up we have our own dreams and accomplishes that we want to reach but it is not going to be easy as waking up in the morning. There will be courses and obstacles that will try to stop you by making yourself feel that you don’t have the ability to or you are not good enough. Reaching for a goal is not easy, if you want to reach it so badly you have to be willing to put the effort into trying. I have had one experience that I had when I was in middle school. When I was in 7th grade things weren’t going smoothly, there was Hurricane Sandy that occurred and meeting new people that I have never seen before. A few months later my grade started to drop because I was spending too much time talking to my friends and my grade dropped down like crazy. In elementary school, I was able to get Honor Roll more commonly but for me having new friends since there weren’t many people in my old school there were some new changes I had to deal with. After finding out how bad my grades, I thought that I would never be able to get Honor Roll from seeing my grade down so low. One person who motivated me to try as hard as I could to reach Honor Roll was my mother. She helped me give the confidence that I needed to get my goal. When I graduated, I went on to High School which meant a new beginning for better grades. For the first marking period I felt more confidence then I had felt in the past and I made sure that I could be able to understand the work I was given during class and do my homework in time right when I get home so I wont have to worry about it for the rest of the day. There will be challenges that may lie in your path of success but if you care about it more than you think you do, you would try as much as you would to reach you future and accomplish your hopes and dreams.
ReplyDeleteVince Lombardi once said “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up”. I think he meant that challenges will always face you in life. But the part that counts is wither you get up or accept defeat. Vince Lombardi knew what he was talking about cause he was a football head coach for the packers. He won a lot and didn't lose much. He also won a couple of super bowls. Reaching for a goal is not easy, if you want to reach it so badly you have to be willing to put the effort into trying.sometimes I get sad or upset over stuff in my past that I have seen or been threw. Like when I was in fifth grade I blamed my parents divorce for me being lazy. My parents were divorce so it had no connection with my effort. But then I realized the people around me were willing to help. the first marking period of the year after that I felt more confidence then I had felt in the past. Then I went on to High School which meant a new beginning for better grades. I almost made honor roll I think I missed by like 2 points. There will be challenges that may lie in your path of success but if you care about it more than you think you do, you would try as much as you would to reach you future and accomplish your hopes and dreams. that's how I feel about this quote
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kenny's blog because he shows good examples and has facts. I also agree with him because he says that with other people willing to help him he got better grades.

ReplyDelete“It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” To me this quote means that you have to keep trying. If you fail once or more than once do not stay down. You have to stand up and be willing to fail again and again. I think that if you fail the only one who should care is you, and you need to not show what weaknesses you have because that will mentally break you down, and you will never reach your goal. Sometime you have to give in to the failure only so it will motivate you more. Sometimes you need to give in to win. You will do better, and it will get way easier when you keep trying. You can only do great things when you have a strong, and confident mind. Never let fear or nerves or frustration take over your mind and body. Do not care what other people think or have to say about what you are doing. Get people who are on your side and who will motivate you at what you are doing. The only person you can make you stop is yourself, also the only person who can make you keep going is yourself.
I agree with mollys blog because she gives a good explanation of the meaning of the quote. Also I agree with her because you can tell she understands the quote.
DeleteI agree with you because you do give a good example and explanation. It's just no matter what happens to you don't give up because you might regret it in the future.
DeleteThe quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” Means that it doesn’t matter if you failed at something but it matters if you retry it if it is an option. There are a lot of times you keep failing at something. But that doesn’t mean you should give up. Giving up is the worst mistake you can do to yourself if you want to learn how to do something. If you want to ski and you think it will be easy think again. It is so hard to ski. I tried it two weeks ago and let me tell you I fell on my butt SO MANY TIMES! It all about balance and I have no balance what so ever. It is very frustrating when it is -10 degrees and you are trying to learn how to ski. Personally I found out I don’t like skiing that much. But I kept trying till I realized, “I don’t like skiing that much.” But on the other hand my brother fell twice as much as me but he wants to learn how and he likes skiing. Also another thing is that if you mess up playing an instrument don’t worry. It takes awhile for me to even get a part of a song write in band and trust me I’m not the best in playing music. And never think to yourself you can’t do something because you think you are going to be bad at it. I while tell you your going to be awful at something as soon as you start doing something. For a example I was garbage at playing the bass. I’m still pretty bad but not as before. I couldn’t keep a tempo and I was so caught up in trying to read music sheets that I forgot that it doesn’t matter what you play but matters how you play it. If you don’t put heart into your music it will sound like garbage and trust I know. I had heard music that has no heart in it. And what heart is that you are not caring about what you played right nd wrong but you are having a good time and not caring about it. I went to a lot of metal shows and let me tell you those people and the stage do not care what the play right and wrong. Do they kind of care yea, but they want the audience to be happy of what there playing and a lot of thee bands I go see started out as a stupid garage band but know goes on tours around the world. And they have bin told they were bad and what not but they kept doing what they doing. So that is what the quote meant.
ReplyDeleteVince Lombardi once said “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” What I think this quote means is that if you are trying to do something and you just can’t do it, don’t just stay there when you get knocked down, get up and try again. It is basically saying to never give up, and if you mess something up, try to do it correctly. This quote can relate to my life in many ways. An example of how this quote can relate to my life is that I was never really good at math. I always got bad grades and because of this I was in a B track class, but now that I am in High School, I know that this all counts. Every time I failed a quiz or test last year made me try harder and because of that I am moving up to an A track class. No matter how many time I got knocked down when I received a really bad grade, I got back up and tried even harder than before and that really helped me. Another example of how this quote relates to my life is when I was in 7th grade; I wanted to play on the soccer team. I played for a different league at the time also so I was always running around and I got badly injured because of this. I could still play as long as I didn’t push myself too hard and because of this, I was made fun of. I considered quitting soccer forever just because I was made fun of for my skills. That knocked me down and I really tried not to get back up but I did and I got even better and stopped letting people judge how I wanted to play. This quote can probably relate to many of us also. Once in our life we have probably done something that knocked us down and we probably had thoughts of not getting back up. If we never get back up we will never learn from our mistakes and we will never change them. When you do something and get ready to give up, think about how if you tried to do it again, how much better you will be at it.

ReplyDeleteVince Lombardi once said “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.”People may think the meaning is something different but I think that this quote means that if you ever get knocked down, it honestly doesn't even matter if you did or how you did. It matters that you get up and forget about it. Lets just say for instance someone makes fun of you for the way you look or about something you do. You shouldn't let it bother you. Yeah it might hurt you but forget about it and just get right back up.
Personally this quote means to me that never get yourself down. Never let people hurt you or let people bother you because it just makes a mess with people and even yourself. It always makes things worse to let something stupid get to you. I say this meaning that just because someone does something that annoys you or someone says something stupid you should just forget about it and live your life. Dont waste any time, not even a minute, being upset. I can relate this quote to this one time in my life. One time I made plans with a group of my friends and they said they didn't know if we were going to hangout. We didn't. BUt then a couple of them hang out, i got upset because i was bored doing nothing that day without the plans i made. But then one of my other friends told me to let it go. And i did, and i felt so much better without letting it bother me. Good came out of this experience. I know that letting things go is much better than keeping a grudge to people inside, and i also learned that those friends don't want to hangout anymore. In conclusion, the quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” by Vince Lombardi is an incredible quote that shows you that its better to get up instead of staying down. And that taking things personally is the worse you think you can do when something's bothering you.
I agree with you Carly because no matter what you shoulder let what outer people do bother you and no matter what always be who you are. Lets say on day someone told you that they hate you and they always have your not going to sit there and cry your gonna get up and dust it off.
DeleteThis quote was stated by Vince Lombardi. The quote is “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” This quote means that when you get mentally pushed down and hurt by someone it's not that you got hurt its about how you get up and hold your head up high. Also it means that if you do get mentally knocked down all you have to do is get back up and be the best you could be. Make it seem that no one could bring you down. When you make people see that you can get up and still move on it somewhat intimidates them. This quote has multiple explanation but that's the best one out of all of them.
ReplyDeleteThe quote at hand is extremely important to me because I have been in the situation where I was mentally pushed down and I was hurt and this helps me out. When I was younger I wasn't like how I am now so it was quite difficult for me to make friends and I was a little loner and it didn't feel so good. Of course I had the people I talked to but they never were my friends I had gotten my actual first friend in fourth grade. Before then I had many different experiences with bullies. Some people would have said that I was so strong and brave but I really wasn't I was so tiny and weak I didn't know what to do. The little me didn't really have any idea of how to react when I was getting bullied but I was mentally broken. When I met my friend I was so happy that I was nearly jumping at the fact that we got a new student in our class. I was so happy that I didn't know if the person would like me but I decided it can't hurt to try and that I did but more importantly I showed all of my bullies that I can get back up and be the happiest little boy in the world. This quote has affected me in this way because I believe that I got back up from being hurt and pushed down and that's what you have to do when you come into those situations. I also believe that this quote is trying to motivate young people to not be bothered by all the talk they hear unless it is very important which if it was that important I don't think someone would be talking bad about it.
What do i think the quote "its not whether you get knocked down; its whether you get back up." By Vince Lombardi. Well i think this quote could mean a couple of thngs actually. This quote could mean that it doesnt matter if u fall or have no more will power. It only matters if you powered through it to finish. You finishing something is the one of the most important lessons you can learn. It tells you that you need to get up and try no matter how hard things are. No matter how hard you get thrown down to get back up. The world may throw you down and kick dirt in ur eyes but you need to get back up and finish. This quote may also mean that you are never to quit. You need to see your way through what ever it is that you started. Whether it be a sport or a game or even a extra credit activity you need to finish what you started. That is what i think the quote means to me. How can i relate this to a personal thing in my life? Well i can relate this to my 7th grade year. No matter what i did i just couldnt do soccer even though i signed up for it. I couldnt do the laps i couldnt even do well with passing. But no matter how much i got pushed down from doing well. No matter how hard it got for me to go out there to play. I never gave up that year and kept going till the end of the season. By the end of the season i was able to run more and was able to pass better. I was better because i saw through and got up and did what i had to do. No matter how many times i was pushed down i got back up. That is how i can relate the quote " its not whether you get knocked down; its whether you get up" by vince Lombardi.
ReplyDelete“It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi I believe that this saying if you get hurt you can always be brought but where you come back from is a different story. Just because something had you down in the dumps but that doesn't mean rise up but lower wherever you where. I think that no matter happens you should try to get back up and never go deeper. Lets just say for instance someone makes fun of you for the way you look or about something you do. You shouldn't let it bother you. Yeah it might hurt you but forget about it and just get right back up. Always keep on fighting no matter what happens. And on the other hand don’t put someone down just due to fact that you were once their and do you really want to be their. Always imagine your life in someone's else's shoes before you go around and make people fell like crap because then your no better than they were or no better than you. Think about it.
ReplyDelete- Adam Plaza
I agree with you Adam. You shouldn't let things bother you or try to knock you down. No matter how many times you get knocked down, you should always get back up and try it again.
DeleteYou know I've seen so many people go deeper instead of getting back up and it's sad. So I agree with you completely it's better to get back up and ignore whatever hurt you
Delete"It's not whether your get knocked down; it's whether you get up."-Vince Lombardi. What this quote means to me is that no matter how many challenges get thrown at you it is how you respond to them or how you act when they happen. For example there was a money problem you have it is you choice how you can handle it. One choice is you can get discouraged about it or you resolve the problem by drinking or gambling. Another choice is you can find help you to resolve the problem or reply on you family members. In my own words this quote means no matter how many time life trays to get you down just get up and move along. A time in my life when this happens is when I was thirteen I was in TRPA basketball team. I was one of the short kids every other player taller. There was a problem how I handle it was to practice over and over again until I got better. What I lacked in height I made up with skill. A person that I can think of that went through this was Eminem. He is a rapper but he persevered through a lot in his life but he kept getting back up. If you don't know him just listen to his story.
ReplyDeleteThe quote “It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” by Vince Lombardi means that no matter what kind of challenges of obstacles that you face, it just matters how you respond to them. This relates to me because during one basketball game i had gotten fouled hard, the ref had called a flagrant. The bad part is that I was shaken up on the play so i was injured and my coach refused to put me back in the game. But i had went back in because the team needed me in order to win. The end result of the game was a win over Manchester. My point being is that it didnt matter that I had gotten knocked down or hurt, what had mattered is that i responded by going back into the game and leading our team to victory. No matter how many times life knocks you down, you have to just get back up and continue on going. An other example is when last year we had played this really tall basketball team from North Carolina. Everytime I shot the ball or drove to the paint (The Inside of the court) it would either be blocked back to me or sent against the backboard. I was starting to get discouraged because I couldnt score any points no matter what i tried. Until I did what champions always do and I overcame the challenge. I just kept pump faking and they started jumping and I would get the easy foul calls. In the end their giants fouled out and we ended up coming back in winning. Since i was the captain of that team , since i decided to man up and not be scared they didnt either which was one of the results of our win. In conclusion, "It's not whether you get knocked down; its whether you get up"
ReplyDelete“It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.” — Vince Lombardi. vince lombardi led the green bay packers to the first two superbowls and won both. the superbowl trophy is named after him. but however, this quote does not only apply to football. it can apply to anything in life. you would think that since he is a football coach he is telling his players that when you get knocked down it only matters if you get up but he really means this in a more secular manner. he is saying this as if you were being bullied and you just took it to heart and never got happier again. you were really depressed. vince lombardi wants you to let it go and kind of forget about it because that was the past and this is the present. another example of how this is showed is if you get a bad grade and you keep crying and complaining about it and you dont study for the next assignment to get back up.
ReplyDelete"Its not weather you get knocked down; it's weather you get up" - Vince Lombardi. What this quote means to me is that you fail so many times what ever you do get back up and try it again. So many people that we look up to today failed to get where they are now. Professional athlete are had to fail to get where they are. If you didn't make the school's team, if you had an injury and couldn't play anymore. Then don't just give up when your injury is gone work harder, And if you didn't make the team start working even harder so you can prove yourself and make the team. Thats what i think the quote means. I could relate this to my life because all i wanted to do when I was a a little kid was to play basketball but I couldn't because we didn't have the money. My mom and dad told me wait to I get to middle school. When I tried out for the team I didn't make it. The next year I tired out again and I still didn't make it. Now that I'm freshmen, and every summer I work hard and even in the weather we have now I go out and practice. I failed so many times and this doesn't even count because everyone made the team. I got to keep practicing because that's the only way I can get better for next year, especially since there are going to be cuts. Thats what the quote means to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree with ish on his meaning to the quote. This is because he is right, if you fail in life don't give up, keep working hard so then you can prove yourself the next time. He had not made the basketball team twice in a row and never gave up and kept working. The same thing happen to me last year when I didn't make the middle school team. I was so upset that I didn't make it even though I felt like I could have made the team. Then after that I practiced and practiced, and not only did I make the team, I started all of the games we played.
Delete“It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up”, this quote was written by Vince Lombardi. What I think this quote means is that if you are going through a rough time, it matters if you decide to recover or not. For example, if someone is seeing that they are failing a class it’s a rough time. The important part is if you decide to recover or not. If you do you can get out of the rough time, if not then you are responsible for the rough time and you will have to deal with it. During rough times, it feels impossible to get out of it. But if you get yourself out of it then you’ll be ok.
ReplyDeleteAnother example is a NBA basketball player named Derrick Rose. Derrick rose has had a lot of injuries since his MVP season of 2011. In the playoffs of 2012, he had an ACL tear. Then he came back to play in the beginning of the 2013 season after being out for a year and a half. Then a month later, after 10 games, he tore his medial meniscus in his right knee. Then after that he played most of the 2014-2015 season and then again, on February 24th, 2015, he tore his medial meniscus in his right knee again. After all those injuries he never gave up. After his first injury, he came back. After his second, he came back. He even played on the FIBA basketball world cup team last summer of 2014. After all those injuries he comes back. Because he didn’t care about getting knocked down, he was thinking about how he was going to get up. He had lots of reasons to quit, but he didn’t. He was criticized for always being injured or if he will even come back and be his MVP self. This is how the quote relates to Derrick Rose.
“It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up”, this quote was written by Vince Lombardi. What I think this quote means is that if you are going through a rough time, it matters if you decide to recover or not. This is what I think this quote means and how it is an example of Derrick Rose.
I agree with you because for Derrick Rose, it must've been hell to watch his team suffer while he dealt with his own personal problems. Rose was knocked down many times in his life and as a result of dying will and a beating heart. he persevered through and became one of the best point guards in the league. He is dealing with another injury now and he is overcoming it as usual
DeleteA wise man, named Vince Lombardi, once said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get back up.” This could mean many different things to many different people. What I think it means is that it’s not whether you get shut down; it’s whether you go back and try again. This quote reminds me of another quote. It goes, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” This quote can be used in many specific events. It can be used during a sport tryout. If you don’t make it on the team, just practice some more and prepare for the next one. Most of the time you will succeed on the second try. This quote can also be used when you get rejected by that guy/girl that you like. If he/she says no, don’t let that bother you in the future. Just be like they missed out or they weren’t the one for you. That’s how most of us get through it, right? This quote can also be used when you don’t pass that driving test that you were hoping to pass on the first try. Most of the people that did take their driving test didn’t pass on the first try. I know my parents didn’t. They had to take it at least two times before actually passing. They just acted the quote that Lombardi said and they succeeded. They got up after getting knocked down.
ReplyDeleteWhat this quote means to mean personally is that you shouldn’t give up after just one attempt. I let that get in the way when I was in 7th grade. It was November 2012 and I just got my physical filled out on the last day of basketball tryouts. I had missed the first two days because I had things to get done, but eventually I got to it. I played the best I could and made a couple of shots, but that wasn’t enough. I did not end up making the team, but that did not stop me. I practiced everyday after that and now I’m better than I was then. I listened to what Vince Lombardi said and I got up after getting knocked down.
